A new resource to check out for Adobe CS3 tips!

Adobe TV looks like a pretty good start of something good. I have only watched a couple of videos so far but they were good and had some good CS3 tips. Like a YouTube channel for Adobe it looks like it will be a good tutorial resource. I'm glad that Adobe is heading this direction.

Adobe TV blinked to life today. As if I had any free time to give. Looks like there's nearly 200 videos divided among 4 "channels" (photographer, developer, video professional, and designer) so far. What, no page layout geek?! (sigh) print est mort.

Flipping through the channels, I saw many of the usual suspects from the Adobe community: Russell Brown, Greg Rewis, Tim Cole, Julianne Kost, Scott Kelby and Matt Klozkowski, Bert Monroy. And a mix of training material from Total Training and Lynda.com. Each "show" is supposed to have at least one new episode per week. I could spend an unhealthy amount of time watching this stuff. And I probably will.

Here's the first episode of Flash in a Flash (FiF).

Ostensibly, this is a showcase for applications and techniques, but the real star is the "TV" itself, the Adobe Media Player, aka AMP. Last Fall at AdobeMAX I went to a session on AMP, and was fascinated by its potential, and Adobe's vision for the future of TV. They're very bullish on Flash being the platform for the future of all TV. I thought it would be a great platform for delivering video content to the classroom.

I'll have to look back on my notes, but I recall a lot of talk about a million channels, people subscribing to their favorite shows the way you'd subscribe to their favorite blogs (hint hint), integrated advertising, and intense data mining. The last thing kind of gave me the creeps. Like they would be tracking your every click, pause, rewind, fast forward, how many times you watched a show, etc etc etc. Again, I have to find my notes to really remember the details. In the meantime, I will be enjoying a ton of free training videos. I may never sleep again.

So, Tabitha and I decided to do our first ever video blog. (Not counting the one we recorded at Macworld and lost the video to...) It's supposed to be about the AdobeTV release but you know how the mind wanders.

Check it out, and find our videos on digg and digg them! I want to be famous...

Our personal afterthoughts:

These are also being posted to Tabi's myspace so we will forever live in infamy...

And if we haven't offended enough people with them, I think we will produce these for future large xTrain releases.

So, I promised a big deal and such, I have delivered. Yesterday night Adobe launched Adobe TV, a new special project that xTrain and our sister company, Splash Media produced shows for. Not only will you find all sorts of awesome xtrain content on there, but you will also find shows by Adobe created right here in our pretty little studio. Pretty cool, huh?

I know. We're kind of a big deal. You can check out the press release here, in case you just don't want to take my word for it.

So, I would add to this post, but all other random events in my life seem to pale in comparison. OH! except the kittens have figured out how to dive off the toilet and drag the entire roll of toilet paper onto the floor. very cute. also annoying. That's all for now, check out the linkage people!
