Who knows for certain though, maybe I'm putting too much thought into this?
After all, the little self-created crawlspace in my head is perhaps destroying that level of rationality or reasoning, so instead of a notion bouncing a few times in my head it stays there for months on end until I realize with apathy that the idea or what have you was never worth that time anyway.

I need to escape, that's all I know.
I just hope I do before that longing consumes me.

For the most part, people have been coming over consistently barely leaving me home alone, but my Father and family left around 2p.m. and I was starving. No one could come over, because they were busy, so I got up myself and decided to make nachos. When I got the chips down, half the bag spilled on the floor. Ugh, kill me. That was hard to clean up. I think there are still chip particles all over the floor. Any sweepers for hire?

Then, I went to the refrigerator to get cheese and salsa. I spilled mozzarella on the floor and the salsa lid fell off and got salsa on the floor as well. I might as well have made the nachos on the floor. Geez. Anyway, I finally got the cheese on what was left of the chips and microwaved it. Put the salsa on it and got my crutches....now what? I threw my crutches to the chair, and crawled on my hands and knees to my chair of choice. Ohhhh how much easier that would have been with someone here or a wheelchair. lol

Pain meds keep making me tired, but I hate sleeping the day away, so I keep fighting it. Kind of fun, though to talk to people.

Neighbors are being jerks. Loud parties, random girls walking into my apartment and loud bangings on the walls and floors. What jerks.

So, any suggestions for a good book, want to bring me a good movie?? What should I do with my time?

I e-mail disability services to see about transportation to and from classes and my friends have been extremely helpful. I appreciate them so much. Anyway ... stay tuned and I will tell you all more fascinating stories of a cripple. :)

Truth be told, my new favorite move is actually an old move of hers, but in reverse. She's recently learned she doesn't need our help sitting up, but her method is a bit unconventional...

I constantly feel like time is speeding by way too fast as far as Lilia's development goes, but she really has taken it slow in some cases. We thought she was on the verge of teeth and crawling ages ago, but the crawling is still in its infancy (pun totally intended...) and she is still 100% tooth free. I guess she is still a baby afterall!

One dark night, twelve men were on a boat. They had been sent by their leader. He needed to take care of some business. The boat started to thrash about, because the wind and the waves were mighty. The twelve men were very frightened, and in the midst of the storm, they heard a voice calling to them. They were afraid, for they thought it was a ghost. It was their leader. He called to them "Take courage! It is I! Don't be afraid."

Of course, that story is the story of Jesus walking on the water. Peter responded to Jesus's call to calmness by asking Jesus to prove he was who he said he was by telling Jesus to tell Peter to come to him. Jesus simply said, "Come."

Upon Jesus' call, Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. But, then Peter lost focus and noticed the wind and the waves. Peter began to sink into the water below. He cried out to Jesus to save him. Jesus reaches for Peter, and pulls him back to safety. He tells Peter, "You of little faith. Why did you doubt?"

The remaining men on the boat worshiped Jesus and realized that Jesus truly was the Son of God.

How many times have I been Peter? I'll hear Jesus telling me to come, and I'll start out strong. Then, I'll notice the storms of adversity around me. I start sinking and get discouraged. In the little cartoon I've posted at the top of this post has a man crawling on water with the caption, "You gotta learn to crawl on water before you can learn to walk." It was meant to be silly, but what truth! Instead of just bounding from the boat, if Peter had taken his time, and left his eyes on Jesus, then he wouldn't have been afraid. Those times when I've heard Jesus calling to me, and I "bound from my boat," I never take the time to truly focus on Him and what he's telling me. I just go full-force. Then, the storms adversity spring up around me, and I sink.

It's in the discouragement that I forget one critical part of the story. When Peter started to sink, he calls to Jesus to save him, and Jesus catches him. The next scripture just has the men on the boat praising Jesus. It never mentions how Peter got back into the boat. He either walked back with Jesus hand in hand, or Jesus carried him. Either way, he was leaning on Jesus. What an encouraging thought. Jesus will have us take amazing steps in our faith, but he won't leave us to drown. He'll either hold our hand, or He'll carry us.

I found this snail crawling up I beam by the train station a while back. I found it interesting because I have 1. Never actually seen a snail like that before and 2. Didn't realize snails could crawl that far up a wall or beam. This snail was a little bit above my head and I am 5'9". So lets say he was about 6 and a half feet or so up the beam. I felt compelled to take a picture for posterity :-)

Today, I want to discuss spam with you guys.

Do you see the photo? It's a screenshot of my e-mail account. Yep, that's right, this is how my spam folder looks like every single day. So, probably you're thinking right now: How is that possible?!

Well, I'll tell you.

About a year ago, I started my own show on YouTube and Ustream.tv, called "DCK". It stood for "Daan's Computer Knowledge". Down here, you can watch my very first video on YouTube and Ustream.tv from DCK:

So, in there, you can see that in that time I was pretty 'stupid' (I was 12 years old, what would you expect?) and I left my e-mail address everywhere so people could contact me with their questions. One problem: I left my personal e-mail address instead of making a second e-mail address for the show... that was something very stupid to do. Because I'm going to explain you how spam works, and then you'll get my point.

Spam, actually, is very simple. If you put your e-mail address on a website, it will be visible for other people on the web, right? Alot of people are using Google daily to find their information. Unfortunately, spam is using the same system; it crawls the internet, searching for e-mail addresses to add to the spamming list. If your e-mail address is just on 1 little website, it will already start sending you spam. But if your e-mail address is on several web pages, the spam bot will find out that your e-mail address is probably to an important or famous person, and it will start sending you more and more spam.

Also, nobody gets excactly the same spam. Do you know why? The spam bot also takes a deeper look at the website, and tries to find out what the website is about. The spam bot can start learning from the website about you, and it will start sending customized spam messages.

And probably, you're also interested in the fact that you're always getting spam from different, weird e-mail addresses. That is very simple. The spammer who has set up the spam bot, also has set up a few e-mail servers and web servers. E-mail addresses are automatically generated by the spam bot, to send spam just one second later. Another second later, the e-mail address is terminated again to make sure that the e-mail address is not traceable any more.

So there you have it: that's basically how spam works. But we're not finished yet, because probably your spam folder isn't as full as mine, right? Well, just watch the Ustream.tv recordings down here, and you'll understand. I'll explain quickly: I was bullied away from Ustream, and some spammers thought it was funny to sign me up at spam bots and start signing me up for gay newsletters, newsletters about ED (Erectile Dysfunction, which I don't have off course), and other kinds of disgusting newsletters. In secret, I've recorded those videos to Ustream, to have proof that it really happened, and to explain to you guys out there what happened to me, my Ustream-account and my YouTube activity. So here we go:

I'm sorry that it's broke up in 3 videos, but that's because I had problems with my internet connection during the spam strike; I had my own mail server running through Gmail in that time.

I hope I've explained to everyone how spam works perfectly like this. But now, let's start the discussion about how to fight spam.

Why? We can't use spam filters forever; one day, the spammers will find their way through the spam filters. And then, basically the whole world could collapse; e-mail is one of the most important communication technologies these days. And if we lose that to the spammers, we need to get back to using the phone. Then, we would have to render the computer as useless, unless you wanted to use your computer without an internet connection. Right, nobody.

So what do you think about spam? Do you know a good solve? Think about it, leave comments on this. Because it's important that we keep the internet and e-mail communication safe for each other. Think about little kids who browse the internet, and they need to sign up for something on the Web. They open up their parents' e-mail account, and they see all kinds of 'interesting e-mail messages' saying things like 'You have won the lottery, you own $100.000.000!' or 'The royal King of Scotland wants to meet you next week, please send back an e-mail with your name, phone number, address...'.

Think about that.

With our company footing the registration fees, there really was no excuse that I could use, but trust me, I tried to think up a couple (I do have a belly dance class tonight, so a tragic shimmy accident could always sideline me for Saturday).  At the very least, Flippy, the Princess and Coachie will be suffering with me. Ok, Coachie won't be suffering, but the rest of us will.

I don't have much hope for a great performance this weekend. Coachie and I did a practice 5k last Sunday, and I'm still sore.  I also discovered that the my 3 miles on an elliptical are a joke. Halfway through our first lap, a random butt/back muscles (I don't know, I only paid attention to the reproductive systems in health class) woke up and started protesting very loudly about the inhumane treatment. It's still protesting, which makes bellydancing and any other sort of movement a joy.

Coachie is also convinced that something called "adrenaline" will kick in during the Crawl and thus propel me further and faster in the race. I am convinced that something called "morning and lack of caffeine" will kick in and cause massive crankiness that may or may not be the reason that my fellow 5k-ers are pushed into oncoming traffic as stomp my way to the finish line in hopes of  a caressing a mug filled with sweet, sweet caffeine.

I'm warning you now: if there's a Starbucks anywhere near the finish line, get between me and my pumpkin spice latte  and you will not live to see the pancake breakfast.

She is now a pro at rolling from her back to her front. Going the other way? Not so much. Apparently it's her thing now. At night, when she's already tired, she keeps rolling all the way over and looks up at us with a smile. Then she moves her feet and her butt goes up in the air. She wants to go somewhere SO. BADLY. Unfortunately she hasn't figured out how to use her front end all that well.

At night, after she falls asleep, she rolls over onto her belly and wakes up and cries because she can't get back over. Then, in the middle of the night, it happens again, only this time she usually has a foot or two sticking out of her crib. Which means, that even if she could roll back over, she had no chance of doing it with her feet out. The bumpers went back on the crib today. I actually had to bring her to bed this morning at 2am because of her one-way rolling problem.

And hello? What happened to her napping? Why did she scream for an hour today and cry? That made me cry because I had a headache and was tired and she just wouldn't be quiet. Now she's tired and can't get to sleep and was crying and I pressed my hands over my ears and Joe mercifully took her outside. Here he comes, being all quiet. So is she. I hope she falls asleep. I hope she doesn't smother herself in the bumpers.

yeah, the second joe put his butt in the chair, Julia started SCREAMING again. Someone please poke out my ears... :-p

Corban is sitting up by himself for a long time before he falls over. I'm just happy that he doesn't cry when he falls over.  He's also doing his own special version of crawling.  He will get his knees under him and then pull himself forward with his arms.  It's really something to see.  And, he's pretty fast at it, too.
