<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Guess what? There's no point starting another blog to test CSS template changes privately unless you're willing to pay for a second Custom CSS upgrade. The upgrades are per blog, not per person.**</p>
<p>Damn!</p>
<p>I suppose it makes sense, but I'm disappointed anyway.</p>
<p>So, I'll have to tinker here. I'm still trying to solve the problem of the unchangeable font sizes, and, while I do like changing the designs around, this time it's annoying. Basic accessibility should be a prerequisite for all blog themes (templates), especially on a site as big as WordPress.com.</p>
<p>**If you don't have a Custom CSS upgrade, you can preview changes, but can't save them and see the blog in action.</p>
<p>And starting a test blog is really not such a bad idea anyway. You can still try all the themes without anyone else seeing, and you can look at the CSS code for them to see how they work (on the Design &#62; Edit CSS page, click on the CSS Stylesheet link).</p>

<description><![CDATA[The wordpress codex has a little tagline at the bottom of every page that reads, &#8220;Code is Poet]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page">wordpress codex</a> has a little tagline at the bottom of every page that reads, <em>"Code is Poetry."</em> Apparently, I am not a poet.</p>
<p>I know I said a couple months ago that I was repenting. I changed my mind. The reason is fairly straightforward: <strong>programming makes me feel stupid</strong>. Now there are a lot of ways to feel stupid, some of which I have of necessity embraced and even come to appreciate in my life. There's the kind of feeling stupid that comes because you did something oafish, but usually that also comes with making someone laugh, so I'm okay with that. There's the kind of feeling stupid that comes because you don't know something you <em>should</em> know, but there are few better motivators for finding out, so I'm okay with that too. There's the kind of feeling stupid that comes because after a long, stubborn fight, you find out you really are wrong, and that kind of feeling stupid is very, very good for me.</p>
<p>The kind of stupid I've felt in my characteristically enthusiastic foray into the world of basic progrmaming is entirely different. It's like the entire programming community has closed ranks and decided that anyone who missed the CSS bus when it pulled through town 5 years ago doesn't deserve to be on board anyway. I've found thorough step-by-step tutorials on template tags and divs and customizing CSS, [granted, full of language I only vaguely understand] but none of them do me any good if no one will tell me where to <em>find</em> the templates on my blog! I don't know what to search for, I don't know where to search, and after spending hours of time I really <em>don't</em> have feeling more and more stupid, I'm starting to wonder why I'd bother searching.</p>
<p>I've come to the conclusion that the remedial training that would be necessary for me to understand and use the "help" materials currently available, let alone the actual tools, would take me at least a month of concerted effort. And, since I don't regret the way I have spent any of the months of my life since the development of XHTML, this kind of feeling stupid just makes me kinda mad.</p>

Blix ، MistyLook ، Freshy ، Almost Spring ، Pool ، ocean-mist و ambiru .<br />

<description><![CDATA[
Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I love coding. Its a great satisfaction when you see something you&#8217;]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://rebelmaker.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/image061.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-128 aligncenter" title="WebDesignSketch" src="http://rebelmaker.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/image061.jpg" alt="" width="461" height="346" /></a></p>
<p>Don't get me wrong, I love coding. Its a great satisfaction when you see something you've worked for hours on in use by other people, and especially over this summer, that and the Olympics, it stopped my brain from turning to goo while away from school for 6 weeks.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, developing has its dark side. Sans the cookies.</p>
<p>Sometimes, things can fall on you like a drunken sumo wrestler. The stress, the pain, and then there's the hamster in your mind falling into a paper shredder.</p>
<p>I'm a home-ridden web developer, and I work with various languages like (X)HTML, CSS, PHP and with MySQL databases.. I do the odd thing with various JavaScript frameworks, but that's only for the pretty parts of the site that would look tacky with Flash.</p>
<p>For anyone outside the loop, its a nice look into the gears that work the Internet. It's not that nerdy, its just basic human function with a spanner through it all. For those who've been through it all, its just all too familiar.</p>
<p>Here's my top 5 reasons why it isn't worth being a web developer. No particular order, kids.</p>
<p><strong>1) One little thing..</strong></p>
<p>All it can take with something to hit it between working and not working is just those little damn details. It could be something silly from a misspelling or the wrong case of letter, and the whole thing works like a car with no steering wheel.</p>
<p>Maybe its just me who's just that little touch more careless than the rest of the globe, but if you've ever found yourself in this situation, you're kicking yourself all the way to the fridge to cry yourself a cup of orange juice. And anyway, its only the rare occasion that a proper problem crops up when coding. For me, its only ever happened once.</p>
<p><strong>2) It can be a lonely drive<br />
</strong></p>
<p>Lets be honest, web folk are not people you are likely to find in your social group a lot of the time. And if you are, you're very lucky.</p>
<p>Unless you get a few of the guys together, or you work somewhere with your own kind, coding can be a lonely business. Seriously, I've spent days on end inside infront of a computer screen, only talking to folks on the phone for a bit or talking the odd few lines on Windows Live Messenger.</p>
<p>A person like me, its easy to slip into insanity, and maybe even depression. At the same time, you want to leave to hook up with someone to play Guitar Hero while stoked on pizza, but you've got a project that needs to be sorted out soon, and fast. Its a hard press to decide.</p>
<p><strong>3) You need to think about EVERYTHING</strong></p>
<p>And seriously everything. Everything from folks who write things differently, to changes that you get when you use the same thing in different countries.</p>
<p>One of my personal favourites was a webapp that requires the name of a person to be written into a form. Its one of my many computer-related fetishes which sees me entering names like "Jay Leno", "David Letterman" and "Conan O'Brien" to check whether everything's working.</p>
<p>Mind, this was when I was just starting out, but PHP and MySQL makes a / appear before an apostrophe.. one of these things .. ' .. that you usually get with names like Conan O'Brien. Its because apostrophes are used to separate information in various programming coding languages.</p>
<p>Now I get more pressing issues like all the different way someone can type in a web address (http://www.wordpress.com, www.wordpress.com, wordpress.com, http://wordpress.com). It's all for a good cause though, making room for these slight variations really help the end user in a lot of ways.</p>
<p><strong>4) It's a huge time eater</strong></p>
<p>There was a period of around 6 months where I just didn't have the time to do web developing on a frequent basis. Reasons why, were there wasn't any ideas flowing but most of all, there was just wasn't the time to do anything for seriousness.</p>
<p>For me, coding takes a major time investment, and at the time, personal reasons such as socialising and the building pressure of school near leaving, added to all this mess. So I simply just put down Dreamweaver and sat and did something else.</p>
<p>I've only rekindled my interest in web developing recently, and all the changes that have happened in this field are incredible, moving onto my final strike on the list. All this wasn't exactly a good idea, I found myself having to reach for references for almost everything I wanted to do.</p>
<p>School vacations for me were heaven for this sort of activity, I could just sit infront of a computer for hours and just do what I wanted to do. Keep the flow of ideas coming and going.</p>
<p><strong>5) It's hard to keep up<br />
</strong></p>
<p>The web is a moving industry, and its constantly changing in ways which range from the best techniques to do certain things, and the most effective ways to design websites.</p>
<p>For example, when you look at the state of the Internet in the 90s, its all &#60;marquee tags&#62;, blue backgrounds on yellow text, bad uses of underlining and the almost disuse of CSS. Now, if you tried to pull that off, you'd have eggs fired into your eyes. That's the idea of how much the web has changed, and its showing no signs of slowing down. Over the space of three years, AJAX has taken off, Twitter has become a bloggers tool and the iPhone has changed the face of the mobile web.</p>
<p>It's all about keeping inside the loop while being a developer. Simply reading up on how to code simply won't cut it. You need to stay informed about everything, or you risk being left behind. Although this can be just a tiredly business, more than actually getting down and dirty itself.</p>
<p>And there you go. Don't throw daggers at my front door for this. It's nothing designed to put people off from becoming web developers, its just a little uncut, uncensored and tasteful look behind the usually closed doors of coding.</p>
<p>Sleep tight.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Css stands for cascading style sheets. And is a very powerful tool for developing a website.<br />
Css give a good look to your websites. Styles define how to display html elements in your website.<br />
Styles are stored in a separate file… or can be defined in the same html file inside the head tag or in an html element.… When there are a number of styles defined for one html element then the inline style has the highest priority which is inside the html element. Then the internal style sheet and then the external one.</p>
<p>Basically there are two rules for style.</p>
<p>The html tag.<br />
Specification of that tag. (declaration)</p>
<p>Syntax is<br />
 {<br />
Specification…<br />
}</p>
<p>For example br{ color: red;<br />
                       }</p>
<p>  h1<br />
{ color : blue;<br />
}</p>
<p>Using css is a good practice for any web developer. Because by editing a single css file you can change a lot in your web page. Also a huge amount of code is eliminated using css.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ok well it is becoming common knowledge these days that using tables in your layout are a bad idea. Generally I agree but I've had a markup bug that wouldn't smooth out where tables fitted the bill perfectly and no repercussions apart from having to write a little more code (and I mean a tiny amount).</p>
<p>I had two div's side by side, the second had content that would dynamically change and therefore change the height of the column. I wanted them to be the same height constantly. My problem was that I had an image that I needed to be aligned to the bottom of the first, so I set it as the background with the approriate alignments (background:#ffffff url(image.png) bottom left no-repeat;). I tired various methods including the faux column, messing with different display attributes in the CSS.</p>
<p>Just to add on a brief but valid point, messing with displays is a good way of confusing yourself and wasting time. If changing displays doesn't work when you've added them simply don't over complicate them, changing them for every different element! I know this seems a little simplistic, but I've found what works for me is to keep the html and css simple, its more cross browser friendly and it will keep those grey hairs at bay for at least 50% longer!</p>
<p>I was figuratively pulling my hair out until I simply switched the div's to a table and volia! Instant success and not the cheap kind. I tested it (throughouly) and so far works like a charm. Why is there then, so much drama then when the words tables and layout are put together? Generally yes I use a tableless design but for this instance it works and does what I need it to.</p>
<p>I will not be excluding tables from my plans in the future if they seem to work! huzzah!</p>

No html editing, except adding a few lines of JavaScript code and modifying an xml file.</p>
<p><a title="ContextMenu.XML" href="http://acidmartin.wemakesites.net/?pageId=ContextMenuXml" target="_blank">ContextMenu.XML</a> comes with a set of 11 predefined skins – Acid, AcidMachine, Blue, Default, Green, Mac, Office2003, Office2007, Orange, Red and WeMakeSites, but users can easily create their own skins by modifying an existing skin or creating one from a scratch.</p>
<p><a title="ContextMenu.XML" href="http://acidmartin.wemakesites.net/?pageId=ContextMenuXml" target="_blank">ContextMenu.XML</a> allows users to disable items, to add custom functions or URLs, set item icon, checkboxes, define width of menu and even to disable the rendering of the entire context menu, as well as a couple of other handy features.</p>
<p><a title="ContextMenu.XML" href="http://acidmartin.wemakesites.net/?pageId=ContextMenuXml" target="_blank">ContextMenu.XML</a> works with Internet Explorer 6/7/8 and Mozilla FireFox 2/3, as only these two browsers allow scripting of the context menu. <description><![CDATA[Back in Sakai 2.0 I went through an attempt to serve up a Right To Left language Sakai experience. A]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Back in Sakai 2.0 I went through an attempt to serve up a Right To Left language Sakai experience. At the time this was just an academic exercise, as there were no language resource bundles for Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi, etc. I just wanted to torture test the framework, frankly. It was amazingly simple to modify the <strong>portal </strong>framework via the skin to serve up an adequate portal. The tools were a different matter altogether, a valuable object lesson in many cases of how <strong>not</strong> to set up something for flexible localizable use!</p>
<p>Now there <strong>is</strong> a Arabic translation (in trunk), so I thought I would go through the process again and hope it is useful. The framework has changed substantially also, so it was due. In this post I will outline the steps to turn a LTR portal (the Michigan CTools) into a RTL portal for some hypothetical university where Arabic is the main language. Disclaimer: I took Arabic in college, but it is long forgotten - so I am relying on random boilerplate and on iGoogle's translator service for example strings. Don't read too much into it!</p>
<p>In a future post I will go through one or two tools in a similar fashion.</p>
<ol>
<li>Use trunk. Add 'ar' to the locales attribute in sakai.properties, start tomcat.</li>
<li>Login as admin. Create a user, give him a RTL name. In this case I used داود سيلڤَر (with a Latin id if you are not a RTL speaker, I used daud).</li>
<li>We will want داود to mess around with tools as 'mantain' to get the full experience so create a site and add him as mantain. I used boilerplate Arabic for site title and description.</li>
<li>Login as 'daud'</li>
<li>Change your Preferences &#62; Locales to 'Arabic'</li>
</ol>
<div>Tada! First impressions - neat! Second impression - I cannot read it, it is too small. We will address that later.</div>
<div><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/small-font.png"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73" style="border:1px solid #ccc;" title="small-font" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/small-font.png" alt="" width="424" height="303" /></a></div>
<p>First thing - let's add a <code>direction</code> attribute to the portal body:</p>
<pre>body{
	width: 100%;
	padding: 0;
	font-family: 'Trebuchet MS',Verdana,sans-serif;
	margin: 0;
	background: #fff;
	<strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">direction: rtl;</span></strong>
}</pre>
<p>This gets us started. All HTML elements that inherit this attribute and <strong>use</strong> it will reverse direction. Unfortunately the portal is not much affected, but it is a start.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/rtl-1.png"></a><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/rtl-1.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-76" title="rtl-1" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/rtl-1.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="314" /></a></span></p>
<p>Some things will need to be addressed substantially: 1) the orientation of the mast head needs to be fixed so that from RTL: logo, banner, login; 2) site list orientation; 3) the portlet title (Announcements) also needs to be reconfigured as well; 4) finally - the portal content needs to be from RTL: tool links, content.</p>
<p><strong>Reorienting the mast head</strong></p>
<p>We have this mess to contend with:</p>
<p><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/masthead11.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-81" title="masthead11" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/masthead11.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="47" /></a></p>
<p>I have outlined the three components in red. From LTR: #mastLogo, #mastBanner, #mastLogin. They are all floated. We need to reverse the order, so let's reverse the float:</p>
<pre>#mastLogin{
 <span style="color:#ff0000;"> /*float:right*/ float:left</span>
}
#mastBanner{
  <span style="color:#ff0000;">/*float:left*/float:right</span>
}</pre>
<p>That is it - really. Am omitting all of the other attributes. Which gives us:</p>
<p><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/masthead2.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-82" title="masthead2" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/masthead2.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="44" /></a></p>
<p>The order of labels and inputs is following the direction <code>attribute</code> of the <code>body</code>. Everything else needs work. Am going to hide #mastLogo because we do not need it. Any graphic element can be poked in as a background of any of the (embarrassingly numerous) other canvases available. I will also add different logos and background colors.</p>
<p>So - new image for <code>banner_inst.gif</code> and reverse the padding orientation on <code>#mastLogin:</code></p>
<pre>#mastLogin{
	float: left;
	text-align: right;
	<span style="color:#ff0000;">/*padding-right: 15px;*/padding-left: 15px;</span>
	vertical-align: top;
}</pre>
<p>Which leaves us with:</p>
<p><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/masthead3.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-84" title="masthead3" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/masthead3.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="59" /></a></p>
<p>The language bundle seems to be missing the Arabic equivalents for the input labels, but the position basics are in place: logo to the right, login to the left.</p>
<p><strong>Reorienting the site navigation</strong></p>
<p>We are left with:</p>
<p><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/sitenav11.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-87" title="sitenav11" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/sitenav11.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="30" /></a></p>
<p>Swapping the floats (links and select) reflect the importance of the 2 in the RTL context:</p>
<pre>#linkNav{
	<span style="color:#ff0000;">/*float:right*/ float:left</span>
}
#selectNav{
	<span style="color:#ff0000;">/*float:left;*/ float:right</span>
}</pre>
<div><span>So (am hiding the banner_inst.gif image):<br />
</span></div>
<div><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/sitenav2.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-89" title="sitenav2" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/sitenav2.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="45" /></a></div>
<p>Although the the <code>direction:rtl</code> in the <code>body</code> gets us the RTL select, it does not flip the orientation of the inline list that the site links are, a list is a list and has an order. We will need to be more devious...</p>
<pre>#siteLinkList li{
	display: inline;
	<strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">float:right;</span></strong>
}</pre>
<div><span>Yay - the order of importance reflected in the original LTR is now reflected in the RTL context: My Workspace, sites, other sites. Some minor touches are still needed such as the separators between site links, padding, etc.<br />
</span></div>
<div><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/sitenav3.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-90" title="sitenav3" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/sitenav3.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="45" /></a></div>
<p><strong>Reorienting the content</strong></p>
<div>The site content consists of a container (imaginatively id'd as #container), with two children: #toolMenuWrap (the tool link upper parent) and #content. Again , we have to tinker with the float of one:</div>
<pre>#toolMenuWrap {
     border-right:2px solid #FFFFFF;
     color:#000000;
    <span style="color:#ff0000;"> /*float:left;*/ float:right</span>
     padding:0 0.5em 0 0;
     text-align:right;
     width:9.6em;
}</pre>
<p>and the margin of the other</p>
<pre>#content{
	padding: 0;
	margin-top: .5em;
	<span style="color:#ff0000;">/*margin-left: 11em;*/ margin-right: 11em;</span>
}</pre>
<p>and the text-align of the #toolMenu list items:</p>
<pre>#toolMenu li{
	margin: 0;
	width: auto;
	padding: 0;
	border: 1px solid #fff;
	<span style="color:#ff0000;">/*text-align: left;*/text-align: left;</span>
}</pre>
<p><a href="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/content1.png"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-105" title="content1" src="http://gonzalosilverio.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/content1.png?w=450" alt="" width="450" height="202" /></a></p>
<p>Not bad, although quite a bit of clean up left to do (the presence block, the portlet titles (which are in the portal doc of all things) for example, the footers, etc.) And being ignorant of the actual use and needs, quite a few things I have overlooked as well - do leave comments setting me straight. I will upload the finished skin later. I will also address soon the skinning of the tools (gulp).</p>

<guid>http://meanpinball.es.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/xhtml-and-css-get-together-good-times-ensue/</guid>
<description><![CDATA[The top of every XHTML page should have these two lines:
&lt;!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC &#8220;-//W3C//DTD]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The top of every XHTML page should have these two lines:</p>
<p>&#60;!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"&#62;<br />
&#60;html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"&#62;</p>
<p>There are several versions of HTML and XHTML available and the DOCTYPE tells the browser which is presently in use. The DOCTYPE mentioned above is XHTML 1.0 but the content of those lines change depending on which method you use. A list of DOCTYPES with corresponding code can be found here: <a title="http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html" href="http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html">http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html</a></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> DTD stands for document type definition and is a list of the rules to follow for a particular document type. If you're using XHTML 1.0 for example, then there's a set of rules you need to live by. When your page is validated (at <a href="http://validator.w3.org/"><span style="color:#810081;">http://validator.w3.org/</span></a>) it is checked against the XHTML 1.0 DTD. (Incidentally, using the aforementioned validator is the fastest, most painless way to find any errors in your (X)HTML).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">The W3C is the organization that determines the rules -- or standards -- that we follow when making Web pages. They decided that a Web page can be produced according to one of three (X)HTML methods: frameset, traditional, or strict. (You'll notice "W3C," "DTD," and "Transitional" in the line that begins &#60;!DOCTYPE . . . ). Frameset is used if you're planning on using frames in your design. Strict is, well, strict, in its interpretation of the rules set forth by the W3C, and Transitional is similar to Strict but a little easier on the rules.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">The original plan was that if you're not using Frameset, you should be using Strict. The W3C recognized that some sites were big enough to have difficulty changing from the old HTML methods to complying with the Strict rules of today. So they allowed for the use of Transitional which is, as I said, less strict. But Transitional was meant to be just that -- something to tide you over on your way to Strict. I don't believe it's worked out that way, at least not yet. Most of those who have made the change have settled on transitional and I suspect have little to no interest in changing.</span></p>
<p>Let me be clear, nothing terrible happens if you do not convert your old, incompliant HTML. A browser will still do its best to render your page the way it thinks best. But there are benefits to becoming standards compliant, not the least of which is it helps your pages be more accessible for users of screen readers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">Let’s add the stylesheet reference under our top two lines:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">&#60;!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "<a href="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd</a>"&#62;<br />
&#60;html xmlns="<a href="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml</a>" xml:lang="en" lang="en"&#62;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">&#60;head&#62;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">&#60;title&#62;This title is found at the very top of the browser&#60;/title&#62;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">&#60;link rel="stylesheet" href="css/master.css" media="all" type="text/css" /&#62;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">&#60;/head&#62;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">The page title and a reference to an external stylesheet are found within the opening and closing &#60;head&#62; tags.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">The page title, which is read by the screen reader and therefore important, should be descriptive enough to provide the screen reader user with a good indication of the type of information that can be found on the page. Calling it “Page Title” or leaving it blank is not much help. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">The next line concerns an external stylesheet. It tells the browser what type of file (type=”text/css”) it is and where it is located (href="css/master.css") – this one is called master.css and is found in a directory called css. This is how the XHTML page is connected to the stylesheet. Every XHTML page of the site needs this CSS reference line within the &#60;head&#62; area of the page. There’s lots more stuff that can go between the head tags but obviously I’ve just talked about the title and css file reference here. I’ll discuss other &#60;head&#62; tags later.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;">Next we’ll take a look at some useful styles that benefit screen reader users.</span></p>

Every now and then I change the songs I listen to, that way I keep discovering new music and never get really sick of a song. I also discover which songs I really love, since I keep them in my playlist, like most of my fav punk bands, for example, The Offspring can never do anything wrong in my eyes!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><a title="Lovefoxxx" href="http://www.virginmedia.com/microsites/music/slideshow/o2wireless2007/img_13.jpg" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter" title="Lovefoxxx" src="http://www.virginmedia.com/microsites/music/slideshow/o2wireless2007/img_13.jpg" alt="" width="124" height="181" /></a></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;font-family:Verdana;">Anyway, Jager Yoga is cool. It has a great drum solo at the start, which gets you going and it bursts with energy. Then the bass kicks in, which is just excellent, after which the guitar follows and it builds up from that. When Lovefoxxx starts the vocals the song changes pace, which is wonderful and her unique sound keeps you interested. I have no clue what they’re singing! I can never sing along with any of CSS’s songs, since I simply can’t imitate the vocals. They apparently put in a lot of Portuguese stuff as well, since they’re from </span><span style="font-size:8pt;font-family:Verdana;">Brazil</span><span style="font-size:8pt;font-family:Verdana;">, but I don’t speak Portuguese! I don’t care though. Lovefoxx sometimes sounds like a provocative zombie. Provocative since she seems to be mocking whoever listens to the songs and zombie-like since she’s very monotone. I love it! I wished they’d make this into a Guitar Hero song!</span></p>
