I can't go on with my masters... I am not being able to dedicate any time to it and it is making me suffer too much.

I have always demanded a lot from myself and not being able to dedicate enough time to this has been bothering me since the beginning. Now that I am not being able to find even some minutes at the weekend -- when I am too tired to think about mathematical equations, logic problems, processes, etc. -- I have finally decided on giving up.

It all started a bit more than two years ago. I spent time watching classes, reading books, reading articles, solving problems and equating things, but now... I am letting it all go.

It is hurting a lot to take this decision. But it will hurt much more trying to finish it.

I have tears in my eyes... But the simple thought of not having this pressure that I impose on myself relieves me and makes my body relax.

The pain is not emotional only, it gets to the physical level.

I will be better letting it go... I just need enough courage, now, to go to the university and request the cancellation and say goodbye to everyone.

I wish I had the possibility of dedicating myself to research, but unfortunately this is something I can't do. Somebody has to pay my bills and unfortunately that person is me :-(

Life keeps going on...

Below here is a re-post of a poem I wrote sometimes back in rememberance of the victims of the catastrophic October 8th 2005 earthquake. The biggest natural calamity of our times that took lives of thousands and shattering those of millions. Both the parts of Kashmir along with the Balakot and Mansehra district were the worst affected areas.

The calamity united the Pakistani masses in the efforts of relief and rehabilitation of the affected people. Wonderous tales of sacrifices and philanthropy emerged out of the tragedy. People from as far as Karachi moved to help their misery-stricken countrymen. Generous support, both financial and technical poured in from outside the country. Now after the lapse of three years when the rehabilitation of the affectees is near to completion one cannot forget the ones who lost their lives in the most unfortunate way. May their souls rest in eternal peace!

Somewhere there were dreams fragile,
Somewhere there was life with a smile,

The smile faded, life gone,
The dreams became unknown,

Let us think, let us ponder
Let us wake from the slumber,

Let us build again a paradize,
For the remains of those with a sad demise,

Look at the child sitting in the rubble,
Teary eyed, caged heart, breathing with a ruttle

The child deprived of pen and paper,
Let us educate him to prosper

What if they are on the recieving side,
We are here to restore their pride

We’ll rebuild their world again,
And will share all their pain

On Saturday, I went to the Guyette Farm in Plainfield for the Franklin Land Trust’s dedication

On Saturday, I went to the Guyette Farm in Plainfield for the Franklin Land Trust's dedication of the property. I had the privilege and joy this summer of getting to interview Evelyn Guyette for an article in the Hilltown Land Trust newsletter. She was 97 years old when I interviewed her - 98 now - and has such a joy for life. Interviewing her was so much fun that I decided I should do it as a project. She and her husband Harry farmed the land together for almost 50 years, and it's been in his family for 70 years. He passed away a few years ago, and Evelyn made the tough decision to give the property to the Franklin Land Trust last year. She gave it with the condition that the Franklin Land Trust donate a conservation restriction to the Hilltown Land Trust, so that she said, "one organization could kind of watchdog and suggest what they other would want to do."

The group on Saturday was staff and board members from Franklin Land Trust and Hilltown Land Trust as well as friends and neighbors of Evelyn Guyette. There were about 50 of us standing around and eating cookies and cakes that the Franklin Land Trust staff baked (apparently being a talented baker is a requirement for working there). Some of the Franklin Land Trust staff spoke about the beauty of the property and how grateful the community is that Evelyn donated it. Just in case anyone didn't think the land spoke clearly enough for itself about its beauty, a Great Blue Heron flew overhead as they were speaking. Then Evelyn spoke, briefly. She just said that this was exactly what Harry would have wanted, and she is so glad that the land trust is taking care of the land. She cried. I cried. Lots of people cried. It was really a beautiful day.

Then we all hiked down to the brook on the old cow path.

“IT IS FROM DEEP DEDICATED, LOYALTY, QUALITY, QUALIFIED, PROVEN CHARACTER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT

"IT IS FROM DEEP DEDICATED, LOYALTY, QUALITY, QUALIFIED, PROVEN CHARACTER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT AND SELF THAT ALL OTHER THINGS FORM AND GROW" By Jaclynn Berry

A PERSONS HIGH CHARACTER is the internal policeman of every human being that HAS IT! It is that which is in those who against all odds do and fight for that which is right and positive.....whether that be in the personal life or public life, business and everything inbetween.

YOU ARE NOT BORN WITH HIGH CHARACTER...............YOU FORM AND EARN IT!

*****OCTOBER 2008: Obama, Biden..........McCain, Palin

OBAMA ISSUES: If you don't feel ones CHARACTER, history, truthfulness, qualifications and associations with unsavory persons count, it is clear that you will, with out a doubt be center of just those attributes in aspects of your life. List all that is factual, the truth, not pomp and THEN decide. An internal, vacant orator does NOT make a PRESIDENT OF MY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

BIDEN ISSUES: For someone who has been a senator for many, many years, why is it that he cannot and will not get issues and facts straight and true? This has been his realm, this is what he has done for a very long time. Facts and truthfulness should be paramount to him! It is a matter of character! Shouting and smirking as a large part of his presentations does NOT mean truth.......check the truths for yourself without the spinners. Non bias truth.

JOHN MCCAIN and SARAH PALIN: Of course they, as a completed matched pair are my choice! Of many, many choices of persons who ran for their parties ticket, and some are great people too, JOHN MCCAIN and SARAH PALIN together AND as stand alones, have created the ULTIMATE union of CHARACTER, EXPERIENCE, PERSONALITIES, HONESTY, GRIT, GUSTO AND DEDICATION TO MY AND YOUR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

THEY have great plans for us and AMERICA and have explained them in terms we can understand. Their backgrounds, experiences and plans are topped of by their A PLUS CHARACTERS and DEDICATION. If you want a PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT who will FIGHT FOR YOU, STAND UP FOR YOU, EXPLAIN FOR YOU, PLAN FOR YOU, CARE FOR YOU...............WITH NO BULL, then you can be secure in voting for JOHN MCCAIN and SARAH PALIN for PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF OUR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

[caption id="attachment_20" align="aligncenter" width="180" caption="Fab, Fave FLAMINGO FRANNIE for PRESIDENT"][/caption]

*****YES LUVIES AND GROUPIES! I, FLAMINGO FRANNIE AM RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WITH MY EVERSO FAB MASCOT FREDDIE FLAMINGO (he prefers FREDRICK) AS MY VICE PRESIDENT. Being as smart and filled with A PLUS CHARACTER I, with all my heart AND precious soul, step aside for JOHN MCCAIN and SARA PALIN as those who will elevate AMERICA and bring honor and high progress to our White House and for ALL OF US!

**I AM FLAMINGO (PRECIOUS) FRANNIE AND I APPROVE THIS FAB MESSAGE!

**Pick anyone who is important to your life and then tell me that CHARACTER doesn't count!

The report below comes from the Christian Telegraph and describes the discovery of a bowl that ‘sc

The report below comes from the Christian Telegraph and describes the discovery of a bowl that ‘scientists’ so called are speculating all manner of theories on. It seems the discovery of any object can be used to push an agenda of any type – in this case an agenda that will stop at nothing to nullify the claims of Christ.

The footage below was found on YouTube regarding the discovery of this bowl:

The report from the Christian Telegraph now follows:

Scientists find ancient bowl that may call Jesus a magician

In what is certainly to be a controversial speculation too hard for many Evangelical Christians to swallow, scientists claim they have found an ancient bowl that refers to Jesus Christ as a magician, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.

A team of scientists led by renowned French marine archaeologist Franck Goddio recently announced that they have found the bowl, dating to between the late 2nd century B.C. and the early 1st century A.D., that is engraved with what they believe could be the world's first known reference to Christ.

In an online article by Jennifer Viegas of the Discovery Channel posted to the MSNBC website, scientists say the engraving reads, "DIA CHRSTOU O GOISTAIS," which has been interpreted to mean either, "by Christ the magician" or, "the magician by Christ."

The MSNBC article says that if the word "Christ" refers to the Biblical Jesus Christ, as is speculated, then the discovery may provide evidence that Christianity and paganism at times intertwined in the ancient world.

"It could very well be a reference to Jesus Christ, in that he was once the primary exponent of white magic," said archaeologist Goddio, who is co-founder of the Oxford Center of Maritime Archaeology.

In her article, Viegas says that Goddio and his colleagues found the object during an excavation of the underwater ruins of Alexandria's ancient great harbor. The Egyptian site also includes the now submerged island of Antirhodos, where Cleopatra's palace may have been located.

Viegas says that both Goddio and Egyptologist David Fabre, a member of the European Institute of Submarine Archaeology, think a "magus" could have practiced fortune telling rituals using the bowl. The Book of Matthew refers to "wisemen," or Magi, believed to have been prevalent in the ancient world.

According to Fabre, the bowl is also very similar to one depicted in two early Egyptian earthenware statuettes that are thought to show a soothsaying ritual.

"It has been known in Mesopotamia probably since the 3rd millennium B.C.," Fabre said. "The soothsayer interprets the forms taken by the oil poured into a cup of water in an interpretation guided by manuals."

Fabre added that the individual, or "medium," then goes into a hallucinatory trance when studying the oil in the cup.

"They therefore see the divinities, or supernatural beings appear that they call to answer their questions with regard to the future," he said.

Viegas writes that scientists theorize the magus might then have used the engraving on the bowl to legitimize his supernatural powers by invoking the name of Christ.

Goddio said, "It is very probable that in Alexandria they were aware of the existence of Jesus" and of his associated legendary miracles, such as transforming water into wine, multiplying loaves of bread, conducting miraculous health cures, and the story of the resurrection itself.

Viegas explains that while not discounting the Jesus Christ interpretation, other researchers have offered different possible interpretations for the engraving, which was made on the thin-walled ceramic bowl after it was fired, since slip was removed during the process.

Bert Smith, a professor of classical archaeology and art at Oxford University, suggests the engraving might be a dedication, or present, made by a certain "Chrestos" belonging to a possible religious association called Ogoistais.

Klaus Hallof, director of the Institute of Greek inscriptions at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy, added that if Smith's interpretation proves valid, the word "Ogoistais" could then be connected to known religious groups that worshipped early Greek and Egyptian gods and goddesses, such as Hermes, Athena and Isis.

Hallof additionally pointed out that historians working at around, or just after, the time of the bowl, such as Strabon and Pausanias, refer to the god "Osogo" or "Ogoa," so a variation of this might be what's on the bowl. It is even possible that the bowl refers to both Jesus Christ and Osogo.

Fabre concluded: "It should be remembered that in Alexandria, paganism, Judaism and Christianity never evolved in isolation. All of these forms of religion (evolved) magical practices that seduced both the humble members of the population and the most well-off classes."

"It was in Alexandria where new religious constructions were made to propose solutions to the problem of man, of God's world," he added. "Cults of Isis, mysteries of Mithra, and early Christianity bear witness to this."

The bowl is currently on public display in the exhibit "Egypt's Sunken Treasures" at the Matadero Cultural Center in Madrid, Spain, until November 15.

Report from the Christian Telegraph

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make in the gym is trying to emulate the training routines

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make in the gym is trying to emulate the training routines of champion athletes. Emulating the champs routine will not get anyone any closer to being the champ.

Remember most outstanding athletes are more a product of their personal mental and physical attributes then the actual training methods they utilize. These natural talents are then further enhanced through dedicated practice of specific sport skills and adherence to the proper physical preparedness protocols. Combine these with tactical motivational and philosophical support by the right coaches and mentors and we are witness to a sort of synergistic alchemy. This is the beauty of seeing the truly exceptional athlete in action. When seen at their peak you are witnessing the product of years of dedication and hard work.

So remember, there is no secret pill, powder, potion or routine that will guarantee athletic success. Be passionate about your sport. Combine that passion with a solid foundation of proper sports nutrition, strength training and conditioning. Experiment to find what works best for you. Make a plan and keep accurate records. Seek out the guidance of the best coaches you can find and or afford. Train hard. Recover fully. Repeat.

Finally stop trying to be like anyone else. Be the best you, that you can be. And have fun while you are at it.

PAU for NOW

After having my blog on WordPress for a couple of months now, I have barely passed the 30 post mark!

After having my blog on Wordpress for a couple of months now, I have barely passed the 30 post mark!! Now this is a big letdown for me as I have always pictured myself as efficient blogger and posting everyday like about 3 or 4 posts, but I have not achieved that!!

I am a lazy student and just a lazy guy in every aspect, except maybe eating....lol....see the thing with me is that I cannot just sit there and find time to actually type up something useful for everyone to read and enjoy. I got a P2P software and these days all I am doing is just download movies and songs from it. I think I’m addicted to it or something, because I just cannot let go of the software!!! The program is running now as I type, it is the same procedure every day, no matter what i am doing, be it eating, sleeping, washing, etc, the application is always running in the background.

So this application has been getting much of my attention these days, so I have absolutely no time or moment that I can use to blog. But all this is about to change now, I have just fully realised the whole importance of blogging in my life and all the good that it can bring me, all the self satisfaction of self achievement and things like that. So now I have decided to blog on a daily basis and really stick to this plan. From now on, any little thing that happens in my life during the day will be recorded on my phone and the moment I get back to my room, I will type the whole thing out and post it online, this is a promise that I intend to keep. So from today onwards, I will be posting things online everyday and I hope by doing this, I can increase more readers coming to my blog, and suggesting more topics for me to write about.

So there it is, my promise, and I hope I can keep it.

This will be my motto from now on.....

I have always thought that only when one travels does one's horizons broaden. Or as a wise Professor said the reverse could happen and you may end up with a bigot who would probably claim the place where he came from was the best. Be that as it may , the time for another parting has sort of arrived and considering I am kind of emotional about these things this should not happen to me twice in a row I mean, fresh out of college just finished the whole round of will miss you forever kinds, the second round arrived.

I promised myself I would not get emotional the second time round but then why I am attached so much to people I didn't know two months ago happens I guess..

This post hence is dedication to them. Do well. Be good. We have already told you. Ya, I know I tend to repeat that.

Over a period of two months there has been too many parties get-togethers and merely hanging around, which I am going to miss. On request the rumour is that a certain romantic drama is coming to a close sadly when the whole departure thing takes place. Sad, yet true. It ends to the disappointment of so many fans.

Speaking of parting, the famous red sea parting story is not as unique as thought. Please the image of Soup parting should not come in here! Any way the strangest thing is many mythologies probably have the same story like the Hindu one where Lord Krishna is carried. Who knows may be all those ancestors saw the phenomenon - fod for thought, thats all.

If anyone ever asked me about the places I am to visit I would rattle of all the details about the place before any one had a chance to say anything. The only place I didn't do such research on was in fact the place I am in. I didn't believe till I landed here - on my international flight! - That I had actually arrived at a place which, I didn't do research on. Well now that I have done all that and made great friends along the way the whole discovery thing I am getting to like. Rather than 'the know everything about the place before you arrive there'. A lesson learnt in time it seems. And facts about the place I have to cautious about saying. If you do not know what the obsession about cleaning is you have to at least once in your lifetime visit this place. As a person who likes certain amount of shabbiness – I am shell shocked. As I known to say often these people definitely need to get a life!

For now I end with a simple statement I liked - Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. - Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809 - 1892)

The picture was taken in 1918. It is thousands of men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge in Iowa. A gift from our grandfathers ...

Imagine how long these men had to stand in that one spot to set it up correctly. I just love the detail of the change of hats to no hats, some with heads bent down, some with faces shining, and slightly different colors of uniforms etc. This took an enormous amount of planning, patience, and positioning and a determination to send their message to us----yes, even to the world. It speaks loud and clear. Thank you.

If you dont know who Brian Clay is you're not alone. Unfortunately many people don't know who he is even though he won the decathlon in Beijing this summer instantly becoming "the greatest athlete in the world." This title is given to the winner of the decathlon at each olympics. The decathlon of course is a "muti-event" that combines ten events spanning the throws sprints jumps and distance events. The events are divided between two days (five events per day).

Day 1
100 meters
Long Jump
Shot Put
High Jump
400 meters
Day 2
110 meter hurdles
Discus
Pole Vault
Javelin
1500 meters

Brian Clay and every other decathlete in the world compete in these same events in the same time frame. Brian Clay's performance in this years olympics was inspiring, but inspiration is fine only if you do something with it. personally i plan to act on what i saw on tv and the internet. I will work hard and train for the next 8 months to finish out my best year and my last year. but what if there was an easier way? not steroids or doping just if i could magically somehow become as Brian. i would cruise through the decathlon, a perfect balance of strength, flexibility, endurance and agility. SO Brian, excuse me Mr. Clay, could i borrow your ability this spring for just a day or two? i promise i will give it back and i will take great care while their with me.

This will be my last season running track for school. i have run track and field every season (Fall, Winter, Spring) since the 6th grade. Thats 35 seasons of cross country, indoor and outdoor track. All I want is a conference championship with my name on the roster for VCU Men's track. that will justify everything i have put myself through. and after the two longest days of my life are over, i can look back and be proud of what i have done.

When we two parted
In silence and tears,

Half broken-hearted,
To sever for years,

Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;

Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

The dew of the morning
Sank chill on my brow -

It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.

Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame:

I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.

They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;

A shudder comes o'er me -
Why wert thou so dear?

They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well: -

Long, long shall I rue thee
Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met -
In silence I grieve

That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.

If I should meet thee
After long years,

How should I greet thee? -
With silence and tears.

This has been one of my all time favourite poems. over the years ive been able to see it in different lights. i know most of the bloggers out there, arent into classic poetry, let contemporary poetry.

poetry has always been a hard thing to digest, for many people. poetry is a matter of taste - like food. some people like contemporary literature like Maya Angelou's and some prefer lyrics, to a typical poem. in the end, its all about a bunch of words put together, to hit home. i think i will be posting some literature over the next few days, just to get it out of my system. Also, though, i'm searching for specific literature, than i can use during my day hours, and i guess you guys, will have to live the search with me :)

another point, id like to add, i am secretly dedicating this post to a friend of mine, who keeps checking in on me, every now and again. this person is about to embark on a new journy. a journey that was meant to be, and a journey that needs to be rememberd every step of the way. some things are worth that. so for her, i am also going to throw in this link, to enhance the words :)

Innovation and creativity are not entities and they do not happen spontaneously.
They are the fruits

Innovation and creativity are not entities and they do not happen spontaneously.

They are the fruits of people, people interacting and working together, complete with all of the friction and personality clashes. Innovation is analogous to a musical writing partnership or team sports. If all roles are performing well, we get a positive force for innovation. And just with sports teams, it is not essential to have total excellence in every area. Some of the most effective and innovative teams have true excellence in one or two areas combined with strength in many others. There may be stars in our team, but the team is the powerhouse.

Perspiration, dedication and hard work are also at the centre of creativity and innovation, honing skills practiced and developed over long periods of time, until they really work. Here are Some basic principles for success:

Stretch for Strength: Flexibility is more important than strength, size or power. Many 'giants' of the business world have disappeared as smaller, more nimble companies stole the market through exercising their flexibility and operating according to new business models.

Go for distance: Innovation is less about a programme and more about a way of life; a culture. It is a culture that should be at the centre of every part of an organisation and one which continues to evolve and develop with time, and over time. It is about longevity rather than fad.

Never give in: Wherever there is innovation there are obstacles and these must be overcome. Personalities within our teams will be able to see ways around whatever obstacle is in the way or objection raised. At these times close collaboration and problem sharing are essental for going the distance.

Fight the mental battles: One of the biggest obstacles or hurdle to our progress looms in the battle of the mind; our psyche. To quote Tom Kelley, 'Innovators have the uncommon sense to pursue ideas long after others give up.'

Celebrate the coach: Behind every great sports team there is a geat coach. Behind every great project team there is a great coach. They may not be in the limelight, but they labour tirelessly in the background making sure everything and everyone stays together. The right coach brings out the best and we notice the difference

The most successful teams comprise a rich mix of different types of people with different personalities or personas, different talents and abilities, different temperaments. The correct mix will produce sufficient innovative friction to push forward the team and push forward the innovative process.

When innovation is experienced, it is a mighty force to inspire further innovation. Perhaps the most important step is to make a start, no matter how small, get the innovation engine turning over, see the benefits and build on them. And these benefits will be pretty obvious when they occur, hopefully enough to overcome politics and convert even the most cynical as they see a turn-around in their group, department, business unit or company.

And innovation doesn't just turn companies around, it becomes a way of life.
