So with the Olympics over and the softballers all sad that their sport is done, it brings up the qu

So with the Olympics over and the softballers all sad that their sport is done, it brings up the question of why? Why is the IOC removing softball (or, more specifically, baseball—I kind of get softball) from the Olympic games? I don't get why they remove sports at all unless those sports are no longer relevant on the world stage (which I don't believe is the case in this situation, which I will go into in a while).

In fact, I also don't see why they turn down so many sports that want inclusion (other than logistics and stuff). I don't mean the fringe sports, I mean something like cricket or rugby or karate and the like. I don't get why tae kwon do would have to be eliminated to include karate. I just don't really get it.

Basically, there are a bunch of sports in the Olympics (equestrian, shooting, archery, fencing, modern pentathlon) that reflect the pastimes of the uppity upper class Europeans of the 19th century. But since the Olympics aren't really about reenacting the Russo-Swedish wars, those sorts of sports aren't exactly indicative of the sporting community of the 21st century.

That said, the only sports I think the Olympics should get rid of are dressage (how is riding a horse in a circle a fucking sport? I mean, I get show jumping, sort of, but horse-nastics is no more a sport than canine long jump), modern pentathlon (running, swimming, shooting, fencing, and show jumping? Who the hell does this?) and shooting (archery I get as there's some sort of physicality to it what with the pulling of the bow string and stuff, but this is basically just Duck Hunt—actually, I'd be cool with it if it were Duck Hunt).

In fact, I think they should be adding more, which they generally are doing, sort of, as they tend to add more sports than they ditch, and even when they keep the number of sports even, they always add new events (longer distances or different equipment like the marathon swim and BMX this year, for example). I don't think they should remove a sport until it is no longer part of the global sporting consciousness (and I think the above mentioned fit). Anyways, here's what I think should be added.

Baseball/Softball

Yeah, I know that these were just pulled from the Games, but I truly do think that's an error. I don't see how the fact that only three or four teams can contend for the gold (in baseball; two in softball) is any different than say gymnastics, and even if you can somehow argue that it is, the issue is a product of the way the tournament is set up. By guaranteeing the host nation and Europe each one spot, that winds up with a full quarter of the tournament being lame ducks. Those two slots go to Central American or Caribbean teams (or a third Asian team) and all of a sudden there's a little more balance in power. Of course, I also think pros should be involved, but that's besides the point.

The only stupid thing about baseball/softball is the fact that softball is even played at all. Girls should play baseball (just like they should play ringette) not sports designed to be effeminate versions of sports boys play. But, more importantly, it means building a second stadium for a sport that often won't ever be played again by the host country. So yeah, this is all softball's fault, but it still should be an Olympic sport.

Horse Racing

I'm not sure I fully agree with this one, and I think it's obvious that it's never even been considered because of the gambling implications, but if jumping and dressage are fucking Olympic sports, then this should at least be considered, both for its popularity and entertainment value (which dwarfs the other horse sports) and so that oil-rich Arabs can win themselves some Olympic medals. In fact, I think it would be even more fun than the usual horse races because, instead of a huge purse, all they'd be racing for would be pride and a medal, and I wonder how many owners would take the reins themselves instead of letting their jockeys ride their way into an Olympic medal. Actually, maybe that's why this has never come up as an Olympic sport: the guys who control the horse (the trainer and the owner) wouldn't be the guys winning the medals.

Cricket

Okay, I seriously believe in this one. Cricket is probably the second most popular sport in the world after soccer (and I say probably only because there really isn't a good way to measure this sort of thing). That's right, the second most poular sport in the world, and it's not in the fucking Olympics. I think this boils down to the fact that the main countries that play this are of Colonial British descent, and the IOC is run by a bunch of old dudes from countries that don't really like the Brits. Second-most popular!!!!!!!!!

Rugby

This one basically has the same rationale for not being included as Cricket does, with the added bonus of sort of extreme violence. Rugby just doesn't seem like a sport that fits with the whole Olympic vibe, what with the penchant for dudes getting hurt and stuff. But rugby is an insanely popular sport around the world, and it wouldn't be costly to build for or anything.

Golf

With the emergence of guys like KJ Choi, Vijay Singh, Jose Maria Olazabal, Angel Cabrera, and a ton of Aussies and South Africans, golf is a much more international game than it used to be, when there were only the Americans and the Europeans. Ten different nationalities have won on the PGA Tour this year, and while the vast majority of them are still American, that can be tempered by limiting the amount of entrants per country. The only real obstacle I see on this one is that there is a chance that the host country may not have a course that's good enough to compete on, and building that kind of course is pretty expensive for what would ultimately be a minor Olympic sport.

Karate

Really only for the potential for a Bloodsport-esque moment.

I have fond experiences with video games growing up like the time I got my first game console Nintendo entertainment system with Mario Bros and Duck Hunt when I was around the age of twelve. I played for hours on both titles with a dramatic ending to Mario Bros crying to my mom because I could not beat the last boss and save the princess. Some of my favorite titles over the years have been Final Fantasy Seven, Metal Gear Solid for the PS1, Tomb Raider 1, Silent Hill 1 and many more.

The game that caught my attention and eats up my free time to this day is Halo. I love the whole Halo Series that the creators Bungie Studios have created. On their most recent title Halo 3 I have logged over two hundred hours and played around two thousand games. Halo 3 has longevity with much too offer like Film Clips, Screenshots, New Maps, Unlockable Items and tons of other cool features. Aside from all my other dream jobs, the one that weighs on my mind the most is working for Bungie Studios, even if I start out sweeping the floors and emptying the trash, I would be happy to just have my foot in the door.

I love Technology and being involved in the evolution of it, I’m not as keen as I want to be on certain subjects involving entertainment technology but none the less this will be something that will keep my interest for a very long time.

I'm talking about this guy, America's favorite yellow icon...aside from the golden arches.

Since I returned to mac in 2006 and began using ichat, I honestly hadn't given this guy much thought. Time went by, I started using gchat and it was splitsville for me and America's favorite running man...until yesterday.

I was poking around on the source of all, twitter, and learned about this from Todd Defren. On the site, I was greeted by videos like the one below and this message:

"You have known him since middle school. He gave you the confidence to ask out your first significant other, and he also helped you guys break up. You two played pranks and shared great memories. But now, you two aren't speaking much and he's feeling a little lonely. Maybe you're scared and don't want to share your feelings yet, but Running Man is ready and wants to hear it. So go ahead, tell him. Let him know how you really feel.

He'll appreciate it in the morning."

One word for this campaign: Genius!

That is the only word I can use to describe a campaign that helps a group reconnect with their childhood. The only thing that anyone seems to really agree on when it comes to Gen Y is that we grew up with this great technology. For us, connecting with our childhood also involves connecting us with the technology that's unique to our time. If you have any doubts, mention Duck Hunt or Mega Man to someone my age and you'll see what I mean.

Back to AIM though, genius campaign. I know I had a few memorable moments occur via AIM. If the spirit moves you, visit the running man and tell him how you feel!

When my friends and I hang out, often the conversation turns to the xBox 360. Then sometimes we wax nostalgic about the old gray Nintendo… I'm sure many of my friends are tired of hearing me complain that my mom unwittingly tossed out our Nintendo (I know!), along with Duck Hunt gun and everything. Inevitably, if we talk about Nintendo, we talk about the late eighties and early nineties and our favorite old TV shows (all the stuff on SNICK or Nickelodeon).

Most of the shows that are most prominent in my mind are from "old school" Nick at Night. I remember watching Mary Tyler Moore, Get Smart, etc. My sister and I would watch with dad and, sometimes, mom. They were family shows because if there were dirty jokes, they were too subtle for the kids to get and most of the humor was slap stick. What ten year old wouldn't find a man talking into his shoe funny?

I was reminded of these family type shows because of a story I heard on FoxNews this afternoon. There's a TV show called "Mudhouse," and Sheppard Smith reports that it's a family hour show based in Iraq… (The best information I could find about it online was here – it's not on the FoxNews site.) Anyway, what struck me was that there were many women in the cast (covered like bee-keepers, though), there were families sitting around televisions watching the show, and the folks that were interviewed talked about how much they liked to spend time together as a family. One woman they interviewed from the show mentioned that it was empowering to be a woman on television, and that it felt good to help heal war wounds through humor.

The media would report about all the strife in Iraq, and they gloss over the good news when it's there… Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but this story about a family TV show struck me as a positive sign coming from Iraq. These families have electricity with which they can power their televisions, the free-time to watch their TVs, and even the social stability to watch the shows without fear of bombs and mortars. Good news, right?

We all know that games like "LEGO Star Wars" and "LEGO Indiana Jones" have been enjoying incredible success and the upcoming "LEGO Batman" game is sure to be a hit. But not all franchises can be converted into LEGO format. Fortunately there are people out there with the time to devote to give us an idea of what some games might look like if they were created with plastic blocks rather than CGI. HERE are a few samples ranging from "Katamary Damacy" to "Metal Gear Solid". Enjoy!

I've just been watching old video games on You Tube. Man, I miss my old consoles. The only one I have left is my original 1989 Nintendo Game Boy. I was saying to Nick the other day that we need to scour rummage sales for a NES...I want to be able to play the original Super Mario Bros or Duck Hunt. I remember going over to my friend's house to eat Nutella sandwiches and play Duck Hunt all afternoon. Duck Hunt, Mario, Zelda, Tetris and Pokemon. I don't require any other games, cause they all suck donkey balls compared to the originals. My brother had a Sega Mega Drive (the Genesis in the US/Japan) and he had the Sonic games...which kicked butt too. I'm a Nintendo girl through and through, I will never ever buy anything by another company...even if you paid me a million pounds to do it.

A famous American pugilist and rapist; born on June 30, 1966, Mike Tyson became the WBC heavyweight champion at age 20; in recent years, “Kid Dynamite” has been known more for his ridiculous face tattoo; the tattoo is Maori in origin; Tyson is from Brownsville, Brooklyn; Mike Tyson was not always a joke; he was once the most powerful and fear-inspiring man alive; in fact, in 1986, Mike Tyson was a superhero; “Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!”—a 1987 video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, which requires players to brawl their way from the pathetic Frenchman, Glass Joe, all the way to a title match with Mr. Dream, AKA Mike Tyson, is the third finest Nintendo game ever made; “The Legend of Zelda” and “Super Mario Brothers” vie for the top two spots; according to popular legend, “Duck Hunt,” a game which came free with a Nintendo Entertainment System, was the favorite video game of Charlton Heston; I knew every lyric to the 1989 song “I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson,” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince; my favorite line was “…now how can I say this and be a little discreet/let’s just say that my bowels released”; I had never seen a Mike Tyson fight live on television, so in 1990, when my friend Ethan invited me to his house to watch a Tyson match broadcast from Tokyo, I was ecstatic; we spent the hours leading up the fight attacking Ethan’s punching bag and then sharing a Domino’s pizza; Ethan and I took classes in Kenpo karate together, and while he was larger than me, I was faster; the fight was against a loser with 42 to 1 odds against him; it was to be a massacre; however, James “Buster” Douglas, the rube that Tyson was supposed to decapitate, knocked out Mike Tyson in the 10th round; it was beyond shocking—a revelation akin to meeting the Pope and receiving a gimpy handshake, or examining an obscure DC Comics issue of “Superman” and discovering the outline of a scrawny penis; later, in a studio interview with Larry Merchant, Tyson said, “Buster fought a good fight. I fought a bad fight. We’ll do it again, hopefully”; James “Buster” Douglas lost the title in his next fight, promptly retired, swelled to almost 400 pounds, and nearly died in a diabetic coma; my friend Ethan, who invited me to watch my first—and only—Mike Tyson fight is now in the Special Forces of the United States Marine Corps; he has done a tour in Iraq, and will soon be returning to the Middle East; Mike Tyson now lives in Phoenix and raises pigeons; according to a 2005 article in “USA Today,” these birds are Tyson’s “greatest joy next to his six children.”

I need to make an hour of writing up to myself. Last night was Thursday, and according to my schedu

I need to make an hour of writing up to myself. Last night was Thursday, and according to my schedule I should have written for an hour (Tuesdays and Thursdays from nine to ten pm). However, because I have the day off today (Friday) yesterday felt like Friday and I didn't even think about it possibly being Thursday. Oops.

While I should have been writing I was doing something I haven't let myself do for a long time - I was playing games. Lately, the only time I've been turning our Wii on is when we have company who we play with or to treat my son to a few minutes of playing or helping with a game if he has been behaving well.

So, about ten minutes before his bedtime we turned it on and he chose to watch me play Super Mario Galaxy (a great game, by the way). Half an hour after his bedtime I coaxed him into going to bed without throwing a fit (a noble feat, he usually throws an all out tantrum when we tell him it's time to stop playing games), and then I did something I haven't done for myself for months: I went back to the game room after tucking him in and I put on a game just for me.

I used to do it fairly regularly, but it's been months now as things have been pretty hectic. I guess the transition was the baby. I got back from a trip to Egypt and we had a new baby and I tried getting some evening gaming in before bedtime, but it was difficult, selfish and by that late at night I was exhausted from not getting enough sleep at night and working harder all day.

Last night though, I did it - I turned a game on and played by myself until my wife came home twenty minutes later. It wasn't a long time, but it was fun. I played a game I've been borrowing from a friend (and it's high time I returned it too). I've always been a big fan of the Legend of Zelda games, and even though I've only been borrowing it, someday I hope to buy the Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess. If you're a Zelda and Link fan, you should check out this great recreation of the first Legend of Zelda for the NES called Zelda Classic. It's a free download (only for PC, I think) and it can provide hours of fun (if you let it). It was began as a "prove I can do it" project by a sole programmer many years ago; but when he had succeeded at recreating the game, down to the last detail, he declared it finished. The on line following of fans became upset. They must have been the dreamer and imaginer type like me, because I always look at something that is "done" and ask, "what would make this even cooler?" The fans rallied some programmers and took the original open source project and began adding features. Now, the game not only emulates the first Legend of Zelda exactly, but it can simulate other early versions of the game for the NES, SNES and GameBoy. My favorite feature though is the editor, which lets you design your own Zelda game based on the tile sets and graphics from all of the early games. Now that is fun. Plus, it's free! Who can beat that?

That's a charming story of a great console game becoming an even better computer game with its roots in the on line world. When my wife arrived home she brought the baby in to feed her and watch me play for a while. She gets bored with me running around aimlessly in Hyrule, so I went to the Wii Shop channel to show her a cool WiiWare game that I thought she would enjoy. This game is a charming story of an on line game that became a platform game. I had heard of it before, but when I read a story by Wired about which WiiWare titles were going to help launch the service I was impressed that it was on the list. The game is called Defend Your Castle and it was originally done in flash. We downloaded it last night and I played for about twenty minutes. It was pretty enjoyable, very humorous at times and around round fifteen (where I left off last night) it was beginning to get challenging.

The graphics are cute. You have a castle, which appears to be made out of cardboard or construction paper, and these little stick figure guys are trying to raid it. They run in from the left in waves all day and at night you take a break from defending your castle. The stick guys have buttons for heads and their bodies are drawn with pencil or something. Some are carrying pop sickle sticks to bust the door of the castle down. Damage to the castle occurs when they make it to your castle and start pounding on it. Your job is to grab them and fling them into the air or smash them into the ground. They scream, their bodies splatter (it's bloody in the original flash game, but it's clean on the Wii for children) and you get a good, albeit guilty chuckle at the little guy's demise. It's especially fun when you really launch them good and it takes a while for them to fall. I like tossing a whole bunch of them and watching them rain down randomly. At night, when the attacks have subsided, you repair damages, upgrade and begin the next round. The upgrades and repairs are done with money you earn from defending against attackers. The more attackers you stop the more money you get. Some of the upgrades make the castle's defenses stronger, some allow you to convert attackers to workers to defend your castle, and others add an archer tower, a bomb making tower and others to help with the war.

Now, as a family game, here's the best feature. Up to four players can play at once, and it doesn't require starting a new game or a special game. At any time players can jump in or drop out, simply by activating or setting down a remote (respectively). As more players join in the difficulty is increased to prevent the additional defenders from getting bored. Oh, did I mention that the cursor you're using to pick these guys up is one of those plastic doohickies that come on bags of bread to seal them but always get lost? Fun. Anyhow, throughout the "day" whichever defender destroys the most attackers gets to be king for the night and handle the upgrades and repairs.

I'd say it's one of the best WiiWare titles from among that initial lineup and it's definitely worth the five dollars it cost.

In the spirit of fun, free on line games, I have assembled a list of fun games I have played over the years to kill time on line. I haven't played some of these for ages, but I find time every once and a while to click around in them. Here they are with a brief description of each (in no particular order) and links to the playable version on the Internet:

I've already introduced Defend your Castle, but there's another, similar game that my brother introduced to me called Desktop Tower Defense. If I had to give an award for most addictive, it would go to this one. Here, in stead of a side view of a castle and stick figures attacking, you have a desktop with a bird's eye view and creatures are moving across the desk (either from left to right on easy mode, or from the left and the top in straight, intersecting lines to the opposite sides in harder difficulty settings). In this game, you can't use your mouse to fling the creatures back, you have to build towers with money you get at the beginning, then upgrade and build more towers with money you get from killing the creatures. It may not sound very interesting now, but once you get started you'll probably have to keep going. You see, the towers attack the creatures by shooting at them, slowing them down, etc. and they also create a barrier the creatures can't cross. So, you build walls that they have to go around (but you're not allowed to completely block their path across the desktop) and eventually these walls become complex mazes. It is a strategy game for hard core problem solvers and there are plenty of modes of game play if you get bored with the basic game.

In the spirit of strategy games, I have something here that will probably make you nostalgic if you are close to my age. Someone has built an emulator to run the Oregon Trail on the Internet! If you really don't know what that is, look it up on Wikipedia.

Another classic game brought back on the Internet also got its start on the NES. I found this one looking for something else (can't remember what). How many of you have played Duck Hunt on the NES? Well, if you miss that game you'll have to run over to Johnny Slack and click on the Duck Hunt link (it's a flash site so everything is run from the same page, I can't provide a direct link to the Duck Hunt game). It's fun just to shoot around (clicking the mouse, of course) and remember the good old days.

If you're looking for mind-numbing, do nothing games, look no further. Interactive Buddy is a flash game made by some dude on DeviantART and it is just fun. Here's the idea. You have this guy, who just stands there, and you use a variety of weapons and toys to make him happy or beat the snot out of him. You can toss baseballs to him and he gets happy playing catch (earning you lots of money) or you can toss grenades at him and he will catch the first one thinking it's a baseball, but once it blows up he becomes terrified of them. The explosions are fun, and they still get you money to buy more stuff like upgrades to the game's look, skins to make the guy look like famous people, and of course more weapons.

My final item for you is also a do nothing game that got its start at DeviantART but is now being developed into a Wii console game. It's called Line Rider, and it is really fun. I have it on my phone. The idea is you draw lines and this guy rides them on a sled. From there you just have fun. Check out the site for videos of some really awesome rides, then create your own! (I sound like an ad, don't I?)

That pretty much sums up the fun games I've found. If you have some of your own that you just can't stop playing, post a comment with a link! Here's the concise list:

Zelda Classic

Defend your Castle

Desktop Tower Defense

Oregon Trail

Johnny Slack (Duck Hunt)

Interactive Buddy

Line Rider

One more bit of news. I announced a project a while back that I have been working on, but the going has been very slow. Believe me when I say I am going to continue working on it, but don't expect to see anything any time soon. Life is not very conducive to carrying such a project out right now, and I have found short stories a lot easier to write than creative nonfiction about real people. Like I said, you can look forward to it in the future, but don't hold your breath. You can hold your breath until I post a fun short story soon though (but only if you are capable of holding it for more than a week, because I don't know when I'll actually be posting one fo the stories). Just keep in mind that I will not be held liable for anyone who passes out because they are waiting for me to post a short story. I hope to finish and post one within the next week or so.

Until next time, thanks for reading.

Hillary should really stop talking about guns. They are obviously not her strong suit. First of all she stated she was under sniper fire when she wasn't. She's also reincarnated herself as a Gretchen Wilson-esque "redneck woman" who likes to hunt ducks.

Only, that dog don't hunt.

There's proof she doesn't know what she's talking about. Her campaign is spreading mailers about Barack Obama's gun control policies acting like all of a sudden she's the NRA card carrying member of the Democratic party, when in reality she's run on a gun control platform.

Unfortunately for her, people who actually use guns know the difference between them and they've already analyzed her mailer and are ridiculing her. Seems like Hillary can't get street cred with gun enthusiasts cause they know she's a fake.

Read about her newest stupid gaffe HERE.

Conclusion: Hillary is a fake, pandering, political moron who should stop trying to pretend she's an Appalachian housewife and run like the person she really is: an elite, rich, college educated, working woman with shoulder pads and testicles.

I think video-game playing is a spectator sport. I was obsessed with Super Mario Brothers (Nintendo NES, the one that came with Duck Hunt) when I was younger, but as I got older, I became more interested in watching than participating (with the exception of Tetris, which I was addicted to during college).

Given cheat codes such as immortality and/or limitless weaponry and ammunition, though, I could get back into the groove of playing (particularly first-person shooters). RPGs just don't compute with me--I haven't the patience for them.

I was browsing through random Wordpress blogs this morning and I came across this little island of crystalline brilliance called Pixel-Love. One of their top posts is about Sports MMOs (or MMORPGs, aka "massively multi-player online online role-playing games"). The entry itself contains a reprint of another online piece.

I've xeroxed a small excerpt from that entry here:

A Massively Multiplayer Online Sports Game? Why not? Any sport is a competition. Every competition needs at least two people to compete. Then there’s team sports, where many people are competing. Multiplayer, baby!

First, a couple of assumptions. The number of “sports gamers” probably wouldn’t equal the rest of the “gamers” if you were to divide them into two groups but there are a lot of them. There are A LOT of kids out there who own a PS2 for the sole purpose of playing Madden. Sure, those guys play other games like the occasional NBA Live, Tiger Woods, or NCAA game. But these guys can’t be bothered with Ico and Katamari Damacy. There’s Super Bowls to be won! They love their sports teams and they love their sports games.

You could probably break sports gamers into two groups, as well. You’d have the “casual” sports gamer who’s played thousands of Madden games but barely touched the “Superstar Mode” or the Dynasty Mode. The same could be said for the other sports. They like to play the game and can’t be sidetracked with things like drafts and trading. These guys would also be more inclined to play psuedo-sports games like NFL/NBA Street, Hot Shots Golf, etc. The other group of sports gamers are hard core. These are the players that have spreadsheets of statistics plotting the stats of the last ten simulated seasons to see if the video game stats are tracking actual real-life stats. These guys play rotisserie baseball, holding drafts in hotel conference rooms. I’m not saying either side is better than the other. But both expect certain things from their sports games. Some expect fluid animations and knock-out graphics. Others want reasonable simulation results and bases on balls. MMOSGs can accomodate both groups of players. I’ve looked at what’s out there right now and offerings that are on-deck (it’s gonna be hard to resist the sports cliches. There’s so many of them!) and then offer some thoughts about where things can go in Part II.Read the rest of the article here.

How did they keep this a secret for so long?

In a surprise announcement today, Nintendo has confirmed that the pack-in game to be included with the soon to be released Wii Zapper will not be a new version of Duck Hunt, as had been previously hinted. Even better, it will be a new Zelda game entitled: “Link’s Crossbow Training”.

Pray to whatever god you worship that the outfit is not also included.

The game will run on an engine similar to Twilight Princess. Link’s Crossbow Training will challenge players to start of with stationary targets and gradually increase their skill to the point at which they can successfully defend against hoards of attacking monsters. It isn’t necessarily a full-fledged adventure but the sound of it, but rather a fun introduction to the style of play incorporated by the new peripheral.

The Wii Zapper in all it's glory, clutched in the grease stained fingers of some fanboy.

The Wii Zapper is a single unit that will incorporate the WiiMote and it’s nunchuck attachment into one device that can be used for precision targeting. Some of the upcoming games that will support the Wii Zapper are EA’s Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Sega’s Ghost Squad.

Next-Gen Duck Hunt?

It remains to be seen how the Wii Zapper will differentiate itself from some of the tired old light gun games of yesterday, but given their recent track record, I’d say it’s only fair to give them the benefit of the doubt. The Wii Zapper with Link’s Crossbow Training will be available Nov. 19, and will retail for only $19.99.

Hogan's Alley: A game from a better time, in which every single character had a mustache.

At that price, and with Link included, it’s pretty much a no-brainer for Nintendo fans both old and new. But some of us older fans are still going to be a bit pissed if the Duckhunt and Hogan’s Alley remakes are not forthcoming.
