Dos noticias que tienen como protagonista a la misma persona, Damon Albarn. Gorillaz tiene previsto empezar a componer material para un nuevo álbum (el último data de 2005) y entrar pronto en el estudio. Los dibujos de los personajes también cambiarán. Mientras tanto,  Blur sigue agonizando de muerte. Graham Coxon (guitarrista de Blur) ha contestado a las declaraciones que hizo Damon diciendo que "Blur se ha acabado".

Damon hizo las siguientes declaraciones entrevistado en la CBC habando del nuevo proyecto de Gorillaz:

Haremos otro disco de Gorillaz. Volvimos de las vacaciones de verano y nos dimos cuenta que podíamos hacer exactamente lo que queríamos con Gorillaz. Esencialmente, Jamie accedió a dibujar los personajes nuevamente.

Así que habrá nuevos dibujitos de Jamie Hawlett (miembro de Gorillaz y creador de los conocidos dibujos de la banda) para el nuevo disco. Él por su parte, ha dicho que "Este es el momento para cambiar el ángulo".

Por su parte Graham Coxon ha negado las palabras de Damon  (Blur se ha acabado) y asegura que ni él, ni Damon, ni ningún miembro dela banda sabe aún que les traerá el futuro. Admite que hace unos años no habría querido volver con la banda por nada del mundo, pero ahora las cosas han cambiado, y el enfado que antes tenían se ha acabado.

Estas son sus delcaraciones en su página oficial bajo el nick de "tweedo" (Inglés):

Damon didn't consult anybody else before he took it into his own hands to make this comment," he wrote. "Therefore I think it is nonsense. It isn't for him to decide."

"A good few years ago I said I couldn't ever see myself going back to Blur. People around me said with winks and nudges 'never say never, Gra' and I resented them saying it, but it was a difficult time and we were all hurt.

"I was one, they [Albarn, Alex James and Dave Rowntree] were three and I felt ganged up on a bit. I don't think they meant it to be that way. They were angry, I was angry.

"The anger was all centred around long, deep friendships that were tested and tested by business, mega-fatigue, too much time with each other, problems with the roles we played in the band, a lack of trust and communication.

"It's VERY complicated. I know it seems simple to solve all this...a phone call, an arrangement to meet up, a chat, hugs tears and a date pencilled in at the studio. I foolishly thought it could be that simple too, but I was wrong. Of course I was wrong and so was Alex.

"All four of us are kinda sick you must understand. We had around 12 years of really freakish behaviour, serious personal relationship problems, alcohol addictions and drug problems. You don't come through that without damage, without deep scars. It's the scars that have to be healed and they can't be unless we are willing to heal them ourselves.

"I feel I have done so much work on my own problems, stupidity, malfunctions, defects...as has Alex and Dave. I cant help thinking that Damon is still within a bit of a mad world that Blur

"I think Damon needs to rest and evaluate. I love Damon. I want him safe.

"The facts are like this really: there's no Blur at the moment. Damon probably ain't interested in a Blur that's not the full head count so I think it comes down to me trying again to contact him and talk to him. I tried before, as I said, and left messages.

"I want to do this anyway for the sake of all the years we were so close. But it takes guts. I psyched myself for days to call him last time and got the answering machine. It's a drag to get that after the psyching, the pondering over the mobile phone and the number and the pressing of the call button.

"I may have to psyche all over again. Be patient. No one knows the future, not even Damon." were in in 1997 or 1998. Careering headlong into chaos, never resting, never pausing for thought. Because when you pause for thought the thoughts don't always like you. The thoughts tell you stuff you don't want to know or contemplate.

I miss Blur.

Oh, don't get me wrong; I totally dig Damon Albarn's efforts with Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad, and the Queen, and those little solo things he occasionally does, and Graham Coxon is a pretty decent solo artist (check out Happiness In Magazines).

But I miss the musical unit of Albarn, Coxon, bassist Alex James, and drummer Dave Rowntree.  I really do.

Out of boredom (and a desire to stop listening to Scarlett Johansson's album), I've been blazing through choice cuts of their seven-album discography.  The Great Escape's "Country House" reminded me of the nastiest war of British popular music history where "Country House" went head-to-head on the charts with Oasis' "Roll With It" in 1995.  Think Tank's "Crazy Beat" reminded me of that crazy Levi jeans commercial where some guy was fighting a pair of jeans.  And did you know that Leisure's "She's So High" was the soundtrack of a date over ice cream and pizza in 2003?  Memories, man!

A part of me would love to see these boys reunite and create great music again.  But, there's also a part of me that knows that Albarn's erratic personality, as well as Coxon being content with his solo career and James totally in love with cheese, will prevent such a thing.  Hey, maybe Dave Rowntree will save the day?  I bet he wants to go back to the skins after his time with British politics are over.  Well, at least that's what I think.

Why do I am including them in this post? Well, for one, they’re a great band…. I also just happened to stumble! Onto their Coffee and TV video from their 1999 release “13.” The song is sung by the band’s guitarist Graham Coxon, and the lyrics are apparently about Coxon’s attempt to give up drinking. It really reminds me on Blur’s earlier years, which I personally enjoy. As for the video, it features Milky (a milk carton with a mission) who is on search for Graham Coxon who has unfortunately gone missing. It’s a great video, and I’m sure that your just burning to find out how it ends!

Quand j'étais encore une sciencepoteuse sédentaire, la perspective de faire la vaisselle était déjà une perspective plus réjouissante que mes devoirs de droit, et une activité moins culpabilisante qu'une partie de Sims.
Ici, faire la vaisselle, c'est le pied.
C'est utile, peu fatigant, sans responsabilité plus lourde que casser une tasse (et la multitude de plats que j'ai cassés n'est jamais revenue me hanter. Ou alors ils attendent de se réincarner, et alors je vais passer un sale quart d'heure...) et je peux rêvasser à loisir en écoutant de la musique.
Parce que vous pouvez essayer dans n'importe quelle maison y compris la vôtre, et même (surtout) si votre génitrice est dans les parages. Si quelqu'un vous voit en train de faire la vaisselle, il ne viendra pas vous demander d'éteindre votre baladeur, ni vous déranger de façon quelconque, de peur de vous interrompre (c'est trop beau, quelqu'un qui se propose SPONTANEMENT de faire la vaisselle).
Si vous avez de la chance, peut-être même qu'on ne vous proposera pas d'essuyer les verres pour filer un coup de main.
Je peux vous l'avouer : quand je fais la vaisselle, c'est Lysi assure le show. Au début, j'étais un peu gênée parce qu'il n'y a pas de rideaux dans la cuisine et que tout le voisinage me voit chanter à tue-tête, danser avec une casserole et faire tournoyer le torchon. Et puis finalement, je me suis lachée. La vaisselle est une activité qui exonère de tout complexe.
Un moment de paix absolue.

Sam Riley ha ganado el Rising Star Award en los Richard Attenborough Film Awards por su interpretación de Ian Curtis en Control (NME)

Supergrass, en compagnie d'autres artistes (The Enemy,Gossip's Beth Ditto,New Young Pony Clubet Graham Coxon), s'unissent pour l'enregistrement d'un single en faveur de l'association Crisis. Cette oeuvre caritative a pour but d'aider les sans-abris à trouver un logement et à se réinsérer socialement. Les fonds récoltés par les ventes du titre lui seront intégralement reversés.

Le morceau est enregistré instrument par instrument par les divers groupes, sans que chacun sache ce qui a été fait par les autres. Le concept est ainsi basé sur le principe de ce jeu pour enfants où l'on écrit un mot sur un papier en le passant à son voisin, qui fait de même pour élaborer une histoire au final. Le cinquième album de Supergrass, Road to Rouen, est paru en septembre 2005.

J'en connais qui vont me charrier, parce que je suis habituellement la première à ne pas comprendre comment on peut perdre sa journée au lit. Seulement aujourd'hui, après être rentrée à 5h du matin et avoir décrété que j'avais bu trop de thé pour avoir sommeil, je me suis réveillée comme une fleur à 15h ("aaaah!!! C'est l'heure, ça???")
Et j'avais rendez-vous à 15h45 au Bapz pour le goûter de bloggeuses organisé par Princesse Audrey (qui est bien plus jolie en vrai que dans mon imagination).
Je me suis donc préparée vite fait dans la panique la plus totale, et j'ai rencontré des bloggeuses, proches de bloggeuse, et lectrices de blog tous plus charmants les uns que les autres. Un petit moment hors du temps dans un salon de thé où on a -toujours- l'impression de goûter avec de la dinette.

Et comme on me l'a demandé, je crois qu'une explication -un peu moins confuse que celle que j'ai donnée oralement- sur le titre de ce blog commence à s'imposer. (Pour rappel, celle sur mon pseudonyme se cache ici ^^)
Donc je ne suis absolument pas musicienne (mais j'adorerais ).
Je suis juste une adoratrice obsessionnelle (voire monomaniaque. Ou plurimaniaque ;) ) de Damon Albarn (oui, on commence à le savoir ^^').
Battery in your leg est donc une chanson de Blur (une des rares auxquelles Graham Coxon ait participé sur leur dernier album Think Tank) qui m'a sauvée de la déprime plusieurs fois. Ca paraît un peu idiot dit comme ça, puisque cette chanson ne m'est certainement pas adressée. Mais le "you can be with me, if you wanna be", je le prends pour moi. C'est mon arme fatale contre la solitude. Il y a au moins une personne dans le monde qui pourrait me comprendre, et c'est une source d'espoir infinie.
Ajoutez à cela la voix si familière d'Idole absolu, les notes envoûtantes de ce morceau, c'est indubitablement ma chanson préférée. Et comme ce blog est ma façon de mettre "a rockbeat over anything", je me devais de lui donner ce titre. Même si je trouve que c'est affreusement banal de donner un titre en anglais.

Cette chanson est l'une des raisons que je peinais à expliquer en sortant de la dernière représentation de Monkey, qui font que je suis dans un état second quand Idole Absolu est dans les parages. Cet homme-là m'a rendue plus forte, j'ai rencontré des gens adorables parce que j'aimais la musique de Damon Albarn, et il est à la base de certains de mes meilleurs souvenirs. Ca va vous paraître absurde, mais c'est un lien très fort.

Donc, Magic (7 € par mois) a publié ce mois-ci un très bel article sur Jamie Hewlett.

Croyez-en une experte, cet article est beau et bon. On y apprend des choses tout à fait captivantes (si) :

1° Jamie était pote avec Graham Coxon. o_O L'histoire ne dit pas s'il l'est encore.

2° Quand Jamie a rencontré Damon pour la 1ère fois, il a pensé (et il le pense encore, de toute évidence ^^') que c'était un glandeur. Si l'on en croit mes restes d'anglais (le dico de la rédac est coincé de la tranche et ignore délibérément l'argot), glandeur se traduit par wanker. Soit très précisément ce qu'a pensé Alex James... Lorsque Graham Coxon l'a présenté à Damon.

3° ET SURTOUT : Jamie a bien l'intention de continuer à travailler avec Damon. Vivant dans l'angoisse permanente qu'Idole Absolu prenne sa retraite (rendez-vous compte, dans quoi pourrais-je bien claquer tout le fric que je n'ai pas???), j'éprouve un soulagement infini.

Dans la série "je m'endormirai moins bête ce soir", il y a sans doute plus de gens que je ne le pensais qui ont les moyens de porter du Zadig & Voltaire. On doit être 2 bloggeurs dans ce pays à aimer la dernière campagne de pub de Ouï FM.
Il faut dire qu'ils m'ont prise par les sentiments : the Clash, the Ramones, Elvis Costello, Kaiser Chiefs...

Quelqu'un de bien informé a dû leur transmettre le top 10 de mon Panthéon musical. La seule chose qui m'interpelle, c'est pourquoi lancer une campagne d'affichage, dans les magazines musicaux passe encore, ils sont également publiés en Région Parisienne, mais dans les 20 minutes de province? Je sais bien qu'on peut les écouter sur internet, mais ça reste d'une logique qui me dépasse : pour promouvoir l'écoute en ligne, on ne fait pas des campagnes dans la presse écrite...
Soit Ouï FM compte ouvrir une antenne à Toulouse, et ça, c'est une vraie bonne nouvelle quand on sait que ces gens-là diffusent des lives de GBQ...
Soit leur agence de communication a du goût, mais pas des masses de jugeotte.
Moi, pour ce que j'en dis... J'ai soigneusement décroché les pages de pub de mon Technikart (4,50 €). Ca fait très bien sur les murs de ma chambre.

Cierto, cierto como lo dice el titulo de este post, se espera que para Febrero del 2008 Blur lance un nuevo material discográfico, pero Blur?? que no estaban separados ya??. Bueno mas o menos, en realidad nunca lo estuvieron del todo, en realidad lo que paso es que después de tanto trabajar, tantas giras al rededor del mundo y cosas por el estilo durante una década entera el líder de la banda Damon Albarn dijo que necesitaba tomar un descanso, en ese descanso los integrantes de Blur realizaron varios proyectos paralelos, por su parte Albarn formo a la famosísima banda de dibujos animados Gorillaz, y Graham Coxon quien junto con Albarn era uno de los dos cerebros del grupo decidio dejar el grupo por que no estaba de acuerdo con que el DJ Fatboy Slim fuera su productor, desde ese entonces Albarn ah dicho que las puertas están abiertas para Coxon cuando el quiera regresar, osea casi casi le dijo, wey solo te estamos esperando a ti para poder hacer un nuevo disco de Blur.

Aunque hace tiempo se viene rumoreando el regreso de Coxon a la banda, ahora queda confirmado por una fuente anónima allegada a los músicos, quien declaró al diario británico The Sun: “Tienen montones de cosas en marcha, proyectos solistas, bandas de caricaturas, campañas políticas y hasta agricultura. Pero para cuando termine el verano [boreal] definitivamente van a rearmar el grupo para grabar nuevo material”.

Otro punto a favor (de nosotros los fans) es que el baterista de la banda declaro ante la revista británica NME que Damon Albarn, Alex James, Dave Rowntree y Graham Coxon volverán a grabar juntos en el mes de septiembre.

No se ustedes pero con esta noticia yo estoy muy, muy emocionado, imagínense, tiene desde el 2003 que Blur no saca un disco, y eso fue disco a medias, ya que Coxon no participo en el. Pff... Blur es uno de mis grupos favoritos, así que estaré pendiente sobre su nuevo material para mantenerlos informados. Saludos, ah comenten y recomienden hehehe no cuesta mucho, por fa!
