Thanks for your email, but Pardon me for having email accounts and that also on Gmail, hotmail etc websites and for being internet freak and checking my emails on regular basis and being in touch with my friends and family through them and once again thanks a lot for your email but i do not check my email to receive all this crap from you and then waste my precious time in deleting them and then sending it to my  junk mail folder. Come on get alive no one wants your cash and if you do any how have so much money keep it to your self and also keep the lottery money you want to send us in your F$#@# A$$. I was so happy with Gmail that they have a nice filter which can directly send emails to junk mail but somehow they have also stopped sending them to junk mail directly and come into the inbox. I know many of you also must be having the same problem, do u reckon there is a end to these junk mails.

Поначалу о Blogger сложились очень хорошие впечатления. Да, там не хватает категорий, импорта-експорта и других фишечек. Но то, что есть, сделано с умом. Самой вкусной фишкой Blogger для меня стала возможность использовать custom domain name. Уж очень не хочется отдавать wp.com денежки за эту услугу.

Облом наступил, когда я попробовал постить заметки с OneNote - картинки через него не постятся. Нагуглить как это сделать через свой сервер для хранения картинок не смог. Да и лишнее это, когда сервис сам поддерживает хранение картинок. Сильно расстроившись, я начал просматривать другие варианты хостинга блога, постинг в которые поддерживает OneNote. Из бесплатных это LiveSpaces. К Microsoft я, в общем то, всегда относился очень тепло и подумалось, почему бы не реанимировать свой Live Space. К тому же, опять же, это стало для меня открытием, MS тоже предлагает услугу перевода своего доменного имени, и может хостить хотмейлом почту с этого домена и дать это имя блогу. С именем достаточно быстро стало ясно, что что-то не так. "Мы не можем знать с какого имени обратились на ваш Live Space" по этому мы делаем редиректы. Вообще то самопротиворечащий бред - что бы сделать редирект они должны знать с какого имени к ним обратились и почему бы не использовать этот заголовок Virtual Host, который передает браузер, что бы открывать Space под этим именем? В общем с именем - не то, что надо.

Еще оговорюсь про постоянные проблемы с сервисом Live ID, в котором надо обязательно регистрироваться - у меня несколько раз выскакивали ошибки о временной неработоспособсности сервиса, на глазах менялся внешний вид страниц, по которым я ходил по кругу, пытаясь что то сделать. Что бы не было проблем сервисам MS пришлось воспользоваться IE, очистить кеши, везде вылогиниться, если был залогинен и то, все таки что-то иногда подглючивало.

Дальше я окинул взглядом свежесозданный Live Space. Что радует - есть Френды. Есть галереи фоток, есть события, календарики и так далее. Но. Страшно бесит здоровенный баннер вверху страницы. Вся страница сделана как то корявенько и не сбалансировано. Нет элегантности. В общем глаз не радует - в сад.

Под конец проверил работоспособность почтовой системы для одного из своих доменов. Работает, но:

• удивило, что в ДНС надо указывать только 1 MX (в Гугле их 7 штук);
• модный веб интерфейс работает только в Internet Explorer;
• никаких pop3/imap/smtp конечно же нет - можно подключить ящик в Outlook только через отдельный плугин, но это уже будет отдельная иерархия папок.

Этого хватило, что бы отказаться от идеи перейти на Hotmail для почты.

Немного взглянув на это все сверху, я решил определить, что же все таки для меня главное в выборе платформы для сайта. Наиболее ценным для меня оказалась именно возможность постить заметки с картинками и с категориями из OneNote. А все это работает без каких либо усилий с WordPress.com.

После всех этим метаний стало ясно, что WP - идеальный выбор. Все работает. Наиболее функционален и элегантен. Немного усложнен, но, возможно, это все когда то пригодится. Скорее всего придется заплатить за имя - но так и быть.

Okay, just a random update in regards to this dear blog of mine. Thanks to those who have commented/voted/visited etc... We're averaging about 100 hits a day (not including my own hits :p). But, more interestingly, lately there have been a lot of hits registered from people's email inboxes (as you can see from the image below). I don't know what is going on, but I'm getting all these hits from YahooMail, Gmail, AT&T, AOL, Hotmail, Comcast email address inboxes. I'm guessing that it might potentially be the result of an email that's spreading or ads that are appearing randomly - only thing is that I haven't signed up or registered for any advertising publicity :s If anyone could shed light, please do. Oh, and the "Elmo is a Black Man" post seems to have attracted the most hits out of any post on this blog, even surpassing the popularity of my Apple iPhone 3G posts! Yesterday it registered about 150 hits on its own!

Three:

The third thing that I would like to mention here is an issue I have had with my MSN :( You might remember I did a massive MSN into Gmail conversion recently to enable me to use my iChat program for all my chatting needs. I came across a slight glitch a couple of days ago when I noticed that although I had logged out of iChat and shut down the computer, I was still appearing as 'online' to my MSN and Gmail contacts. So expectedly, when I logged back in, I was inundated with a whole heap of chats from people thinking that I was online at the time they initiated conversation. So to the 10-15 people who I "ignored" over the past few days, my sincerest apologies. I wasn't actually online at the time and my MSN client, iChat, lied to all of you. Don't worry, I hear the WYD priests have massive confessional tents set up in Sydney this week - I'll be sure to send iChat there to be cleansed from its transgression. Lame joke, yeah.... forgive me.

Four:

This post was originally going to just be about Three Things, but this fourth thing was inspired by a young red P-plate (provisional) female motorist who stopped behind me at a red light this afternoon. The car was fairly old school, but appeared to be running alright despite its age. The lonesome driver, a girl whose large "bug-eyes" sunglasses covered three quarters of her head, had her iPod earphones fitted snuggly into both ears as she bopped along to what I assumed to be pretty normal music. Look, during the course of my observation she even sang along to what she was listening to. There's no shame in that. We all do it once in a while, especially while alone. I admit, I have even engaged in the occassional out loud conversation with myself. lol

Well, I thought nothing of it.. until..... the girl looked straight up into her rear view mirror and with such conviction and passion gave a bloody good rendition of the Gene Simmons "KISS" tongue manouvre as exhibited above. She wiggled it around and everything. I almost died of laughter. Almost.

It is not that Windows Live programs "cannot be installed," it is just that the folks at Microsoft who decreed such a thing made a stupid move. That's surprising... Apparently, there is not sufficient application testing on these "unsupported" operating systems, and so they decided not to release it for them period.

Feel free to skip down to the uploaded MSI set up files if you do not want to know the knitty gritties.

On a "compatible" XP SP2 machine, WLInstaller.exe smacks relevant set up files and logs in

C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveIntaller\MsiSources

NOTE: WindowsLiveInstaller was (sneakily) made a "protected operating system [folder]" so you would need to change this under Folder Options...View, Show Hidden Files and Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"

Finally, browse over to the MsiSources folder and voila.

I am surprised there is not more accessibility to these set ups, or at least ease in finding them. Any how, I hope someone benefits from these. Enjoy.

Desde que foi lançado, o Gmail tem ganho uma enorme popularidade em detrimento de outros servidores de e-mail que há muito estavam no mercado.

Muitas pessoas querem migrar definitivamente para o Gmail, mas nalguns casos (como é o caso do Hotmail), não há (havia) como passar os e-mails antigos para a nova conta sem ser reencaminhando-os um por um, o que torna o processo demasiado penoso.

Para resolver este problema que também era meu, pesquisei na Internet e descobri um artigo no blog Google Operating System que mostra-nos como é fácil enviar todos os e-mails do Hotmail para o Gmail mantendo o remetente e a data dos originais.
Vamos lá começar isto!

1- Para começar, têm de ligar o IMAP no Gmail: Na vossa conta abram as “Definições” seguído do separador “Reencaminhamento e POP/IMAP”, seleccionem no fim da página “Activar IMAP”. Guardem as alterações.

2- Façam o download do Windows Live Mail, porque só ele consegue conectar-se à conta do Hotmail e fazer o download de todos os nossos e-mails.

3- Depois de instalado, adicionem a vossa conta do Hotmail ao programa (basta adicionar o nome, e-mail, password e fazer seguinte).

4- Adicionem agora a vossa conta do Gmail preenchendo o e-mail, password e nome da conta, não esquecendo de clicar na caixa que diz “configurar manualmente” antes de carregar no botão “seguinte”. No próximo menu preencham as definições do IMAP e do SMTP (podem tomar como exemplo a configuração do meu Gmail na imagem em baixo).

5- Agora basta ir à pasta do Hotmail seleccionar os e-mails que pretendem transferir, cliquem com o lado direito do rato e seleccionem a opção “Copiar para a Pasta…” (para que os e-mais originais permaneçam no Hotmail), depois escolham a pasta “A Receber” no Gmail e carreguem no ok.

É muito, muito simples.
Quando vocês adicionarem as contas, terão de esperar que o Hotmail faça o download de todos os vossos e-mails para o PC, que em ligações de Internet mais lentas pode demorar um pouco. Também o upload para o Gmail pode demorar algum tempo, dependendo da quantidade de megabytes ou gigabytes que tenham em e-mails.

Today I decided to use it to mail some files from work to myself. Using my own hotmail address as sender and receiver. There is some trouble with my regular email, so I thought I could use hotmail as well.

Using Mozilla's Thunderbird to get my mail, it says that it can not get the mail. Well, maybe I overdid it a bit, because the zip file is almost 3MB. But I can can always use a browser. I thought. Logging in, opening the message (it is there) and then click on the attachment to download it.

Not happening. Hotmail tells me that there are too many files in the zip, so it can not be scanned for virusses. I am not really sure how many files are in the zip, something like 50, let's say 100. Must be a stupid virus scanner. Imagine a virus scanner telling you that you have too many files on your hard disk.

But I don't care that it isn't scanned. Remember that I send the file myself? I know what is there. I will download it anyway.

Then a small problem arises: I can't. There is no way to download the file. It just keeps telling me that it can not be scanned for viruses. That's it.

Now what?

People have been asking me to list the different types scams..other then the ones I have already listed..so hear are all the ones I'm aware of..

1. Foreign Bank Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail ) - What is a Foreign Bank Scam: This scam is were..someone tells you there is a lot of money in a foreign account..and you have to sign for it or..transfer it to your bank account..and there by steal all your money..be aware..it can be real..slow like 1 cent to 1 dollar..to hundreds of dollars..depends on how greedy they are.. ( Most Scammers of this type...try to prey...on sadness...grief...saying someone died or...there has been a real bad accident..or natural disaster...DON'T BE TRICKED....EVEN IF THEY GIVE YOU A REAL LINK...LIKE CNN OR CNET....THEY DO SOMETIMES>>RECENTLY HAVE USED REAL TROUBLES OR NEWS STORIES TO TRICK PEOPLE )

2. Foreign Lotto Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail ) What is a Foreign Lottery Scam: This scam...is simple..they want you to reply to the e-mail with a bunch of information about yourself....in a vein attempt..to trick you into thinking you won a large sum of money..when you did not enter any lottery or contest..the main reason for this can be any where from getting your e-mail address for a call list or..to get your mailing address to run a scam...or steal your belonging...

3. This is a Promotion Scam - ( Type of scam: e-mail or regular mail ) What is "This is a Promotion SCAM" : This scam is were they claim normally their from a good company like DELL, MSN, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft..and so on and claim you won something..normally Money...and other times..computers, Mp3 players, TVs..and so on...this is a terrible scam..but I have seen people fall for it...I have knowledge of 3 people who were victims..to this type of scam...most of the time..there are no graphics in the e-mail..not even company logos...very short....and normally in an odd font...the reason for this scam..is to get background info..sometimes for..calling lists..sometimes...for home addresses, sometime..just to play with people...

4. PayPal Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or fake website ) This scam is mostly threw e-mail where you receive an e-mail with a link on it...and it will bring you to a cloned log in page...you enter you info..and you account info gets stolen...this scam is really harmful...because...you can lose a lot of money..and all your info like credit card..bank info is right their + your address..and so on....very hard to bounce back with no money lost or having to change all your info..to prevent further damage

5. Hotmail Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or fake Website )  This scam....can cause a lot of issues...every few months..there is a new round..of you have to re-activate your account...or reply to this e-mail or will terminate your account....I have never received a legit e-mail of this type...they are sometimes very convincing have logos and graphics of hotmail.....and or Windows live...

6. You have just WON scam - ( Type of scam: e-mail, website, regular mail, text message ) This is the oldest scam out there...but this is really specific type of scam..it can't say anything about a lottery or anything about a promotion..it will just say you won...normally in big letters...then normally you have to reply in some form..to claim your prize or..go to the next stage.....sometimes even asking for money from you....this is manly not for harmful reasons...other then annoying call lists...or junk mail....annoying but not harmful..other then to trees.

7. e-Bay Scam - ( Type of scam: e-mail, website, text message ) This scam is were someone...pretending to be an offical...from e-Bay...tryes to get your log info..and racks up transactions...or trys to make you look bad...via...bad comments...most often..done via..and embedded link..on an officail looking E-mail...watch for this one...it happends more often then you think...the way you can tell..is by the fact...it is not using your registered name...like me it would be dear COMPUTER SAVVY..and not dear customer...the best thing is to report it to when you recive it to e-Bay

7. e-Bay Seller Scams -

A. False pictures - Meaning...they are using stock or internet pictures of the item they are trying to sell...so they don't show it is a fake they are trying to sell....Like stock photos of a video game cover..but when you receive the item it is really FUZZY and really a BOOTLEG....BEAWARE this happens all the time and is one of the top scams......

B. Incorrect Shipping amount - There is one amount listed on the auction....like lets just say...$9.99 but when you buy the item...there is add another $2.00 for some odd reason...that is not clear...so it is really $11.99..this also happens all the time..most times the seller claims it is for insurance...but as far as I know it is suppose to be a separate amount that you can add if you wish..but will not add on top of the price..with out your consent..

C. Crazy Shipping Rate - Have you ever been to an auction and it had some really crazy listed shipping rate...well there can be a few reasons...one being it is the listed price for the fasted method of shipping and if you go to the bottom..you can choose the slower cheaper method of shipping that is one...the second...you should check the shipping calculator...to see if the price is right..or even go to the said shipping site and check it your self don't trust the seller...but only if you really want the item...Trust me it has saved me a lot of $$$$$...people make mistakes but also know that if it is a BUY IT NOW or a E-BAY store..it may be higher shipping rate....because of the conveniences factor...

D. Messing with the FEEDBACK - E-bay sellers use to be able to just fight back every comment they got that they did not like...and get the person agree to withdraw the comment...so it did not really affect their rating...In fact I've seen people go crazy doing it so much that they had more comments withdraw then positive comment..but the new rules make it a lot harder..but beware that old seller still may have this issue..

E. Sticking the buyer with postage to return an item - Well this is a real big one...First you receive an item that is the wrong item or is broken..so you are hurt and pissed off....and the seller says send it back and they will replace or refund the price of the auction..BUT HOLD ON...SORRY BUYER...U HAVE TO PAY TO SEND IT BACK...SO you say what the heck right... Will sorry people before you buy ask the seller if they will pay for the post on returned items.....or make sure you read all the fine print....before you BID or BUY...

F. Restocking FEE - So you buy and item and it is your mistake you bought the wrong brand or colour.....So you return it with in the refund period..but the seller says that you have to pay a 15% restocking fee...for the inconvenient of the seller....Well swallow your anger and make sure...you read the fine print..because this happens when it is a POWER SELLER OR E-BAY STORE....

G. BULK PACKAGING Or Non-Original Packaging - So you buy an item...and when you receive it...it is only in bubble wrap and not in the original box and or packaging..so you contact the seller..and he/she says for the original packaging will cost another $1.50...so you say why is this...well sometimes it is a scam...just to get more money..but it can also be because....the packaging is to heavy or hard to ship...so check the listing...or ask before you buy..

H. CRAZY SHIPPING TIMETABLES - SO you buy an item and it takes like forever to arrive and your sure....it said first class shipping....or it takes the seller like weeks to ship...when you paid right away....Some of these are clear scams...some of the reasons for this that I have heard..is because..OH I DID NOT HAVE THE ITEM IN STOCK...I DON'T SHIP ON THE WEEKEND.... THE WEATHER....PAYPAL WAS NOT SENT...but yet you checked it and it did..pure scam....in tat case...

SELLERS THAT DON'T LEAVE FEEDBACK - Now this is a hard one....I'm not really sure about this one...but it is really a tick of because some seller won't sell to you or except your bid...if you are a newbie..so it can cause you hardship....but also I've seen seller leave feedback once they receive payment..so it can go both ways....i sometimes contact the sellers and bug them once or twice...after I've left them feedback....

Ok this one is a real piss off to me...so you are buying like 2 or more things from one seller and then you contact them..and they give you like a $2 discount the item or postage....or they post a crazy amount of items that you need to buy like 7 to 20 items..in a set period of time....normally between 3 and 7 days....or this they do this...OH YEAH SORRY BUT YOU NEEDED TO BUY THEM IN ALL ONE TRANSACTION OR IT DOES NOT COUNT.......This happens a lot..and people it is just PLAIN GREED..swallow your pride..and pocket book and make sure you read...the listing real close..and always contact the seller before you bid or buy...

LAST IS A TIP...TRY...TO ALWAYS CONTACT...THE SELLER>>>WITH ANY QUESTING>>>>JUST TO SEE IF THEY ANSWER YOU...AND HOW LONG IT TAKES TO RESPOND...IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT A SELLER....IF YOU GET A REPLAY IN LIKE 10min compared to a seller who never contacts you or takes days or weeks....

WELL THAT'S ALL FOR NOW...BE CAREFUL E-BAY IS REALLY COOL...AND A GREAT PLACE TO FIND HARD TO FIND ITEMS.....BUT IT IS REAL LIFE...AND THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT WILL SCREW YOU JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN...

8. Business Deal Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail, fake Website, Phone call, Regular mail, text message, Fax )

this scam is also really old...and I've seen some really off the wall ones...and be really careful..most promise cheap wholesale products..and it can be legit...but most..will end up costing you more then what is stated...try to go threw a lawyer..or someone..you know really well..and do a lot of researcher

Fake Dating website spam mail - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or fake Website ) this scam is more annoying then anything else...it starts with my name is Tina..and I'm 5"2 and sexy...and then say what their background is..then they claim they found you on...a dating website..or social networking site..and then ask for info..so they can meet you...

Real Bank Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or fake Website ) this one can really cause havoc...it is when a random e-mail guesses that you have an account with real banks like EGG, Bank of America, Bank of Montreal...and they say you need to update your information...or your account..may have had illegal activity recorded...this one also in most cases are really easy to catch..via..return e-mail address or...the fact you don't have an account with that bank...or the big one..they don't use your name anywhere in the e-mail..

11. Inheritances Scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or regular mail ) this scam...is also very easy to catch...but more like a chain letter...it makes it rounds..claiming a family member...has passed away..that you don't even remember.

12. You have received a package scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or regular mail , Phone ) This scam seems really Innocent...at first until police are knocking on your door..because you just accepted a package with a bunch of drugs...or weapons..in it...it can come as a package...that you never ordered in the first place..a door hanger from UPS, FedEx...what ever but normally a really badly done e-mail request to call the company to give the ok to receive the package or pay a security fee..

13. Odd Request scam - ( Type of Scam: e-mail or regular mail ) this scam comes way out from left field and asks something you would never think of in a million years....most claim..that you signed up for some sort of promotion..of call list..or group..organization...this can even include...odd survey questions..

I don't know how Anthony Ikpe was able to get access to my account, but he has managed to change the password, change the alternate email address and change the challenge-response questions so I cannot get back control of the account by the usual means. My old password was not a strong one, but nor was it an easily-guessable one. I suspect he has somehow spoofed the password reset system, which would be a security issue for Microsoft if it is true.

My Hotmail address is the one I publish publicly - the Hotmail account is designed to be the one that gets attacked. My friends, family and colleagues know that it's not the address I normally use. I also use it for buying things online so that the resulting marketing messages don't bother me. However, if I'm in the middle of a buying something it assumes a temporary importance. And I am indeed using my Hotmail account quite heavily at the moment. Or not, as it turns out.

Inconvenient then, and I'd like to get it back if possible. And I'd certainly like to stop Mr Ikpe from reading the messages I'm currently getting on that account. So I am trying to contact Microsoft to let them know what has happened and see if anything can be done.

Attempt 1

I click on the Help link on the Hotmail home page. Yay! there's a link for "What do I do if I think someone is using my Windows Live ID? ". I click it. It gives me another link to "Report to Microsoft" any suspicious activity.

I click it. It leads to a Technet page with another link telling me to fill in a form on this page: Helpful Information for Microsoft Passport Network

I click the link. It takes me back to the Hotmail help page.

Presumably Microsoft think their customers are so stupid they will continue round this loop for ever without noticing they aren't getting anywhere.

Attempt 2

I call Microsoft UK. After patiently navigating their call centre menus, I arrive at the Hotmail options. For billing enquiries please press 1. For all other enquiries please go to http://uk.msn.com

My first reaction is Gaaah! But surprisingly there is a form on the MSN site that allows you to report Hotmail security issues. I filled in the form and submitted it. The waiting begins.

Sometimes you come up with a "brilliant idea" only to find its been done before.

Even though it is an obvious thing that something fresh and new to take the world by storm is always needed, but then you come across many websites providing the same sort of services and functionality, and all seem to be making it work and making it big!

For example, you have hotmail thats been around since ages and was considered the top FREE email provider even before Microsoft had acquired it, then how come Yahoo mail or Gmail still survive and grow?

You have Twitter, the "micro blogging" service provider, then how come services like Yappd, which is being called the "visual Twitter clone" are popping up? Not only that, the Samwer brothers, the well-known European trio of entrepreneurs, invested in Frazr, an exact duplicate of Twitter in the year 2007.

That they did after they backed Studi-VZ, the Facebook in Germany, in 2005, shortly after Facebook became a major success. So does that mean that web based startups dont necessarily need to be completely different in order to make it big?

Is it okay to be the "big fish" in a little pond?

Maybe these "clones" of famous websites such as Facebook work because theyre targetting their specific geographical regions as starters and then hope to become as big as their global counterparts somewhere in the future.

But then one wonders, is it okay to be the "big fish" in a little pond? Even if it means that you're a clone of something else that is already out there?

I for one say yes! But thats given you keep a few things in mind, like for example, you're struggling with to come up with a new and fresh world changing idea, but can't, and somehow you feel very strongly about something that is already out there but you see a niche for it in your locality, in your country... I say go for it!

Perhaps you'll be the next Tech crunch or Mashable for your region

Sure, you risk being called "just another copy" and fail to impress your fellow "technopreneurs" since you just did the same old thing again, but maybe once you're on your way, you'll start to fork your way to better things in the same service. Maybe you'll come out with a new and improved version of Digg! Perhaps you'll be the next Tech crunch or Mashable for your region and while you're at it you'll fill in the gaps that you thought these sites forgot to fill in! Where's the harm in that?

Perhaps thats what is meant to happen in order for you to take the first step in the world of the web and help you grow!

Heck, Guy Kawasaki even has a feed aggregator website running called Alltop which is "inspired by popurls" and its acknowledged!

If you go to popurls.com you can see what he means by it.

Oh and if you don't happen to know who Guy Kawasaki is, well then just visit his website www.guykawasaki.com and you'll know who I'm talking about.

So I guess it's okay to actually use "someone else's idea" and build off of it.

There are even websites out there from which you can buy clones of these top websites such as Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Elance, Gmail, Paypal, TinyURL and so many more! (you can see a list of these websites at the end of my entry)

But the wrong thing to do would be to not innovate and to think that if you've managed to clone someone else's idea and make it big, that thats the way to go always. You should always be on the look out for newer and fresher ideas, keep challenging yourself, be the best of yourself, keep impressing yourself.....and in the process..without any doubt, you'll end up impressing the world. :)

Pochi di voi sapranno che il protocollo MSN può seriamente compromettere la vostra sicurezza.

1. Il vostro account hotmail può essere facilmente "rubato" da chiunque, bastano 10 minuti con la domanda segreta o altri metodi.
2. Avete una buona probabilità di prendere Virus, "contaminare" il vostro account, e perdere di conseguenza tutti i vostri contatti nel giro di 30 secondi, basta infatti che vi arrivi un link "fantasma" dai vostri contatti e una volta aperto, buonasera! Questo succede sopratutto inseguito all'installazione di lamerate tipo DiscoveryMessenger, CheckMessenger, MSGPlus etc etc..
3. Nessuno ha garantito che la vostra registrazione a hotmail sarà eternamente gratuita. Microsoft potrebbe infatti decidere di rendere il servizio a pagamento da un giorno all'altro e voi non ci potreste far nulla.
4. Dal punto di vista tecnico, è il peggior protocollo esistente, trasferimenti lenti, client pesante etc etc..per quanto riguarda la praticità risulta semplice in quanto MSN è già installato in Windows.Potrei continuare con una lunga lista...ma mi fermo qui.

BASTANO 5 MINUTI PER CAMBIARE!

Il primo metodo (ID JABBER): basta scaricare un programmino come PSI o Pidgin (per windows o linux), o Gajim (per linux), installarlo, e creare gratuitamente una id Jabber (come se fosse un hotmail). Se non sai come fare leggi la guida "Passare a Jabber con Pidgin"

Secondo metodo (ID GTALK): se avete una mail su GOOGLE.IT potete scaricare il messenger GTALK http://www.google.com/talk/intl/it/

Se non avete una mail su google iscrivetevi da qui come se fosse hotmail :)

Installate Gtalk e chattate liberi e sicuri. Ah dimenticavo, potete chattare comunque con contatti msn yahoo icq etc etc, seguendo questa guida scritta sempre da me!

Microsoft'un mesaj gönderene çil çil para ödediğini iddia eden SPAM mesajı uzun bir aradan sonra tekrar sahnede...

Bir zamanlar, Microsoft'un özel bir çalışma yaptığını ve size gelen e-posta mesajını ilettiğinizde size para ödeyeceğini belirten SPAM mesaj internette çılgınlar gibi dolaşıyordu. Hemen hemen her dile (bu arada Türkçeye de) çevirilen bu mesaj şimdi tekrar dolaşmaya başladı.

Mesaj ilk ortaya çıktığı 2006 yılında Microsoft'tan Charles S. Bailey tarafından gönderilmiş gibi görülüyordu. Yeni SPAM mesajında ise yerelleşme söz konusu. Mesaj artık Türkiye'den bir matematik öğretmeninden gelmiş gibi görünüyor, mesajın doğruluğunu onaylayan ve Microsoft'tan çuvalla para kazandığını iddia eden ise Bilkent Üniversitesindenmiş gibi yazılıyor. Bunun dışında 2006 yılında yayınlanan mesajla içerik tamamen aynı. Ve elbette yalan.

Mesaj değişik yollardan yayılıyor, örneğin size de bu hafta içinde bir arkadaşınızdan gelmiş olabilir. Peki ne yapılmalı? İlk iş olarak mesajı hemen silin ve gönderen arkadaşınızı da uyarın, bir daha böyle yalanlara kanmasın.

Tekrar dolaşmaya başlayan SPAM mesaj metni aşağıdaki gibi görülüyor.

Eğer doğru ise süper değilsede kayıp yok. Umarım doğrudur. Denemesi bedava nasıl olsa. Normalde bu tarz haberleri iletmiyorum, ama bu haber iyi bir arkadaşımdan, avukat olan arkadaşımdan geliyor ve iyi bir fırsat gibi görünüyor. O, doğru diyorsa gerçekten doğrudur. En azından insanı kaybedecek bir şeyi yok. Bana şunları anlattı: avukatım ve yasaları biliyorum. bu bir gerçek. Aldanmayın, aol ve intel, aynı pepsicola`nın kısa süre önce general elektrik ile yaptığı gibi, mahkeme karşısına çıkmaktan ve milyonluk tazminatlardan korktukları için sözlerini tutuyorlar. Microsoft'un daha önce bu konuda yaptığı açıklama

Kamuoyunu, son günlerde Microsoft ile ilgili olarak İnternet ortamında yoğun biçimde dolanan ve gerçeği yansıtmayan e-posta mesajları konusunda bilgilendirmek amacıyla, bu açıklamayı yapma gereği duyuyoruz.

Özellikle son birkaç gündür yoğunlaşan söz konusu mesajlarda, Microsoft’un bir deney yaptığından ve mesajı başka adreslere ileten (forward eden) kişilere para ödeneceğinden söz edilmektedir.

İlgili mesajın doğruluk payı yoktur. Microsoft Corporation söz konusu e-postada iddia edilen bir çalışma içerisinde kesinlikle değildir. Aksine Microsoft, yemleme ile küresel mücadele girişiminde tüketicileri eğitmek, suçluların yasal takibini sağlamak ve yemleme tehdidine karşı teknolojiler geliştirebilmek için yasal merciler, çok sayıda sektör ve hükümetle bir arada çalışmaktadır.

“Hoax” adı da verilen bu tür mesajlar, “virüs, ödül, yardım, vb.” konulardaki asılsız içerikleriyle heyecan yaratarak kullanıcıların zamanını boşa harcamalarına neden olmaktadır. Bu yöntem ayrıca, yoğun mesaj zinciri içinde geçen e-posta adreslerini ele geçirerek, daha sonra kullanıcılara istekleri dışında mesajlar göndermeyi amaçlayan kötü niyetli kişiler tarafından da yaygın biçimde kullanılmaktadır.

Kullanıcıların kötü niyetli e-posta mesajları ve bilgi sızdırma girişimlerine karşı korunmalarına yönelik önerilerimizi ekte bulabilirsiniz. Durumu kamuoyuna açıklama konusundaki hassasiyetimize gösterdiğiniz anlayış için teşekkür eder, iyi çalışmalar dileriz.

Well almost all web based mail services offer this facility. Few such as yahoo.com allow you to automatically sort mail to different folders. Where as Gmail has no folders but you can create different labels and all mails that match a criteria will be marked with corresponding label.

Sorting mails automatically in Gmail:

Create a new label by clicking on the Edit Labels on the left side pan. Click on Settings on the top right corner, choose Filters. Click on Create new filer. Now you can filter the mails based on various criteria such as From Address, Subject, has Attachment etc. Click on the Next Step button, and choose the label that you just created. You can also apply some other actions on the incoming mails such as forwarding to particular email automatically or deleting it. Once you have selected necessary options, click on Create Filter button. Do not forget to select the check box next to the button Create Filter.

Sorting Mails automatically in Yahoo

Select Options>Mail Options from top right corner and Choose Filter. Click on the Add button to add a new filter. Enter a name for the filter and select the criteria. Select the appropriate folder to which the mails should be filtered. Click on Add Filter. Yahoo requires you to upgrade to Yahoo! Mil Plus if you want to create more that 15 filters.

Sorting Mails automatically in Hotmail/Windows Live

Select Sorting Mails automatically in Yahoo from the Options on the top right bar. Click on New Filter, Select the appropriate criteria and click on Save.
Out of the above three web based mail service, I felt Hotmail has the simplest way of organizing mails.

Then on their return, a reasonable proportion just didn't get back into it and for the first time ever, Facebook UK numbers dropped.

So - will we see a repeat this summer? When Seprtember starts, the returners might just not be as in love with their social platform, and the graduates just won't have time to play with it. Are we in for another drop in numbers?

I think we'll see a gradual change in the value put on Facebook by users that we've seen with tools such as Hotmail. Once the hottest thing on earth, this now is a useful but not essential tool. It's no longer considered de riguer (not now my mum has an account there) - it's just an appliance we use without noticing its specialness. And maybe at that point, that's when it can become really powerful. The key thing is that Facebook must not take their eye off the ball in the same way that MSN did.

I've just got a very alarming amount of e-mails..claiming their account has been hacked...or for some reason Hotmail or Live mail is asking for more information..

Here is what I would do....to check...whether your Hotmail or Live mail account has indeed been hijacked or compromised.....

First off CHANGE ALL PASSWORDS...FACEBOOK...BANKING..PAYPAL...anything remotely connected to your hotmail account..because if it is an hijack attempt it will have already been hacked..or it will be shortly...

- If you have installed the new Mozilla FireFox 3....there has been quite a lot of reports...saying that..there password or user names...are no longer stored...and then in that case..you would indeed have to put in your user name..and password again...the same can happen with internet Explorer....

- Try logging on to your account using a computer...away from the one you have been using...for example..nothing on your network or server..because...if it is indeed a virus...or some computer issue..you will find out..just by logging on from a computer...

Here is what you do to asses the damage...did you use your hotmail or Live account to:

- Buy things from AMAZON, or e-Bay
- Do banking
- Or complete PayPal purchases
Use..another....e-mail account...and contact...Hotmail..with this..concern..they can restore the default settings..if you can provide all the necessary information..for them..that being

- postal code
- country
- secret questine
- old password
- user name

Here is are some reasons you may have been hijacked or made it easier for such an attack to happen

1. If you have..not changed your password for more..then 6 months...

2. If you used that account..when activating..a classmates.com account...or hi5.com account..or even FaceBook account

3. If you have not logged on to your account...for more then 30 dayz (this would be a legit reason..hotmail has closed you account..)

4. If you did not use the log off button..thou keeping your profile active..and somebody who put in just your user name and or password..would..get access to your hotmail account...

Estranhamente se tentar acessar utilizando websites, como o meebo o sistema funciona, e algumas contas parecem já ter voltado nesse momento.

Para um problema desses ter durado por tanto tempo ou era algo muito grave ou alguem andou investido dinheiro demais na tentava de comprar outras empresas e esqueceu de pagar as contas... hehe

Isso também server para demonstrar o quanto estamos dependentes de um único sistema de messenger, gtalk, Yahoo Messenger e ICQ ãso otimos mensagereiros, mas que infelizmente as pessoas teimam em não adotar, ou pelo menos adotar parcialmente como uma alternativa para quando este tipo de problema acontecer né.

Bem, vamos esperar e ver o que acontece e se a Microsoft vai noticiar algo sobre o acontecido.

ps: O problema não está afetando todos os usuários e estou com duvidas se realmente esse problema é culpa da Microsoft.

This is an interesting new error:

If you do a search for "Hotmail" on my blog here you'll find some other interesting errors in trying to access your hotmail account from time to time.

It appears that as of July 7, 2008 at 1800 CST (-6 GMT) this error prevails. I do not even get challenged for username and password.

Odd huh? Not even part of the Windows Live Network® ; here I thought it Hotmail was an integral part.

1. Keylogger

This one is a trcky one, but if you send someone a keylogger, they log into their email client, BAM! a password.

Phishing people is often the preferred method, most teenagers and young adults don't care enough to check the links to make sure they are real. (I know this as a fact). I actually know a few adults who get tricked too.

3. I forgot my password

If your close friends with the person you want to hack, then answering their secret question shouldn't be tough. In fact, this is the easiest way to get it!

4. Brute-forcing

As there is no automated tool for brute-forcing hotmail due to there being a limited amount of times you can try a password, (Anti brute-force). The only way is to manually guess it, from things they like, friends, birth dates, and more.

According to P.C Magazine, these are the 10 most common passwords:

1. password
2. 123456
3. qwerty
4. abc123
5. letmein
6. monkey
7. myspace1
8. password1
9. blink182
10. (your first name)
