Hurtigtaster kan også være kjekt å vite om, det finnes en rekke hurtigtaster både for det ene og det andre. Den første hurtigtasten du kanskje burde vite om er hvordan du skal få kontroll over alle popup - vinduene dine på din PC, for å legge alle dine "aktive" vinduer ned på verktøyslinjen ved start-menyen bruker du tasten Windows (Flagg) + D, så får du kontroll over alle dine "vinduer".

En annen hurtigtast du kan lære deg først som sist er hurtigtasten for å angre, hvor mange ganger har du ikke sittet med et word - dokument å angret på noe som du ikke skulle ha trykket på ? For å få det vekk så taster du bare Ctrl + Z så kan du igjen være fornøyd med ditt word - dokument eller hva slags annet dokument eller fil du holder på med.

Den tredje og fjerde hurtigtasten du burde kjenne til er hvordan du skal kopiere og lime inn, for hvor mange ganger har du ikke sittet på World Wide Web å irritert deg over alle de gangene du skal prøve å rote rundt for å finne en koper - knapp eller lim inn - tast f.eks. til et word dokument. Da er det like så greit å kjenne til hurtigtastene for dette, som er for å kopiere: Ctrl + C over det du ønsker å kopiere og Ctrl + V der du ønsker å lime det aktuelle bildet eller teksten inn eller hva det måtte være.

In any application into which you want to paste an item from Jumpcut's stack, press the hotkey to activate Jumpcut's bezel. (The default value for this hotkey is Control-Option-V.) A little window like the one you see when using the application switcher or the brightness controls will appear. While holding the modifier keys (for the default hotkey, this is the Control-Option combo), use the arrow keys to scroll through the stack of copied items.

Jumpcut provides this feature for text only but it's definitely something you want to check if you're like me and continually using the copy-and-paste feature. One note before you download, the current version of Jumpcut, Jumpcut 0.61, is a Universal Binary that requires OS X 10.3.9 or later. Users running earlier versions of OS X should try Jumpcut 0.54, which should work with OS X 10.1 and later.

I took 10 of these sites out for a test drive, and picked some winners.  If you want to post, watch, share, or edit video online, this post's for you.

To test each service, I uploaded my demo reel (a 15MB Sorenson 3-encoded Quicktime file) to each site and compared video quality, site interface, community features, and functionality.  Where applicable I also tried to embed the resulting video in a Wordpress page.  Many of these sites are still in beta, and their functionality could change in the coming months, but if you're looking to post and share video today, this is the current state of things.

Eyespot

Appeal: Easy-to-use video uploading and remixing.
Interface: Bright and colorful.  Tagging, forums, groups.  Not a lot of community features.
Editing: Trim beginning and end, reorder clips on a timeline, add music and photos.
Sharing: Post to a group, invite a friend to the service (but not directly to your clip).
Verdict: Uploading straightforward and painless.  But: 25MB filesize limit too small.  Mashup features fall short of Grouper's "groovies," and it's not even in the same ballpark as Jumpcut when it comes to mixing and editing.  Not a lot of reason to use Eyespot, in its current incarnation.

Google Video

Appeal: It's Google.
Interface: Typically clean and sparse Google layout.  Uploading requires you download the Google Video Uploader.  Allows you to add plenty of metadata, including a transcript.  You can monetize your content by assigning a sale price to each clip (you can also give users a "day pass," giving them access to the content for a limited time, but not ownership).
Editing: None.
Sharing: See below.
Verdict: Google Video requires a "video verification" process, where your submission is reviewed to ensure it conforms to Google's technical standards and legal policies.  This process "may take several days," so check back for an update.

Grouper

Appeal: YouTube with a file-sharing application built on top.
Interface: For full functionality, requires an application download. Windows Media Player-based (converts other formats).  Ratings, tagging, groups, RSS feeds.
Editing: Create mashups of your videos and photos, set to music ("groovies").
Sharing: Post direct to myspace, friendster, eBay.  Download to hard drive, iPod.
Verdict: "Groovies" are easy to create and could be very popular.  But: File-sharing application seems half-baked (and is undifferentiated from existing options).  "Groovies" will prove much more popular if they can be built online without having to download the app.  E-mail registration system was a pain; had to do it twice to get confirmed.  After several hours, my file was still unavailable, as the service was still "upload processing."

Jumpcut

Appeal: Create, edit, and remix video online.
Interface: Slick interface feels more like an application than a web page.  Scales all videos to a larger size than other sites, but videos don't autoplay and there is no indication of what portion of the video has already been downloaded.
Editing: Bar-none the best editing options of the bunch.  Splice your footage, reorder the shots, add music, photos, transitions, even effects--think iMovie in an online interface.  Very, very slick.
Sharing: Email to a friend, embed in a web page (worked flawlessly in Wordpress).
Verdict: Playing with Jumpcut's features, you immediately understand that the future of online video is here.  No current competitor can touch it.  But: Get too effects crazy and your video slows down.  Jumpcut doesn't re-render your files with every remix--which leaves the original video quality intact--but playback of edited files is not perfectly smooth. Don't throw out iMovie just yet.

Ourmedia

Appeal:  "The Global Home for Grassroots Media."
Interface: Slow, confusing, and messy.  Requires an Internet Archive account, and the integration of the two services is convoluted.  Keeps your content in its native format, which is both good and bad--it doesn't recompress your video, but it requires its users to have several different players installed correctly.  Creative Commons licenses built-in.
Editing: None.
Sharing: RSS feeds, email to a friend, direct link to files from your own site.
Verdict: Going forward, a good place to upload your media if it is socially-conscious or activist by nature.  Also works as an online repository for video/audio storage.  But: One of the most difficult sites to upload video to.  Current "alpha" version falls far short of potential--wait for the next version.

Revver

Appeal: YouTube with monetization--if people watch your video (and the embedded ad), you get paid 20% of what the advertiser pays Revver.  If they click on the Revver link at the end, you split the proceeds 50/50.
Interace: Quicktime-based.  Requires you to download a client for uploading content.  Tagging, emailing, rating, playlisting.
Editing: None.
Sharing: See below.
Verdict: Offers a unique revenue-sharing model that may appeal to content owners and producers.  But: Uploading process is convoluted (the promised drag-and-drop functionality was nowhere to be found).  After trying to upload my file using the Revver client twice, my video was still listed as "unavailable."  I later received an email from Revver stating that my submission may contain unauthorized material that requires clearances--which is true.  Because Revver and Google Video are the only sites in this roundup that let you monetize your content, we'll be back with an update comparing the two.

Videoegg

Appeal: Lets you painlessly upload video of any format to the web and post it to other sites or share it with friends.
Interface: Requires you download an application in order to upload.  The download seamlessly embeds in your browser to give you drag-and-drop functionality.
Editing: Basic trimming of beginning and end points.
Sharing: Post direct to eBay, Blogger, and Typepad.  Creates a simple URL, lets you email the video, and gives you javascript and html code for embedding in your own pages.
Verdict: Painless experience.  If you only need to post and share video with friends, Videoegg just works.  Flash 8 video quality is pretty decent.  But: Video didn't embed properly in other pages (Wordpress).

Vimeo

Appeal: Flickr for video.
Interface: Nice and clean, uses a flash wrapper to play native formats.  No download required, simple and easy uploads.  Tagging, commenting, voting.  Nice player with a volume control and no burned-in logo.
Editing: None in the current version.
Sharing: Post to Flickr, send to del.icio.us, download original file, embed in your MySpace profile or blog, create an RSS feed.
Verdict: Good video quality. Embedding the video in Wordpress worked flawlessly.  But: Light on community features, and weekly storage cap of 20 megs is too limiting.

vSocial

Appeal: "The fastest, easiest way to upload, watch and share your favorite video clips."
Interface: All Web 2.0'd-out.  Big fonts, AJAX, tagging, rating, reviewing, RSS feeds, creative commons licenses.
Editing: Offers "edit this video" functionality, which I couldn't test (see below).  Can also create "Video Rolls," which are customized playlists generated from your selected criteria.
Sharing: Embed in your own page, MySpace, Typepad, Blogger, del.icio.us, Flickr, Blog It! (write a post on your own blog about a video without leaving vSocial).
Verdict: Lots of community features.  But: Didn't live up to their "fastest" or "easiest" claim--I never successfully got a video uploaded (tried three times).  Quality of existing clips is less than stellar--everything's resized to 320X240.  Your mileage may vary, but even with a Quicktime file that uploaded to other sites without a problem, I never got vSocial to work.

YouTube

Appeal: The video-sharing site everyone's already heard of.  Mindshare-winner by a mile.
Interface: Tabbed pages feature ratings, favorites, flagging, tagging, and commenting.  Create playlists, subscribe to other's uploads, subscribe to tags.  The player only features a mute button (rather than level control), and full-screening the video opens a new window and starts playback over.
Editing: None.
Sharing: Embed in other websites, including Friendster, eBay, Blogger, MySpace.
Verdict: Easy to use, no major issues.  Decent video quality, audio sounds compressed.  Video embedded in Wordpress fine (but was off-center).  But: No progress bar for uploading.  Fairly lengthy "processing" delay before you (or anyone else) can watch your video.

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

For posting: If you just want to get a video clip online and share it with friends via email or on your own blog, Vimeo wins for its speed, ease-of-use, and simple playback functions.  It also lets users download the original file, and features some light community features (note that a new version is launching very soon).  One of the few sites I used that I never had a problem with.  Alternate choice: Videoegg.

For viewership: If you want to step up to more community features and get widespread viewership of your viral clip, YouTube gets the job done with a lot less hassle than vSocial or Grouper.

For editing: If you want to alter your video online in any way--through editing, remixing, or combining your clips with those from other users--then head on over to Jumpcut and don't look back.  Jumpcut really offers the first leap forward in online video sharing, and is worth a look even if you have no use for editing features (its full-fledged community is launching "very soon").  Alternate choice: none, yet, although Motionbox looks to be a potential competitor.

After trying out Jumpcut for a recent video project, I decided to check out some more reviews of the software. I wanted to see how closely their experiences were to mine. One article I read, written by Danny Allen, can be seen by clicking the link below:

Danny Allen touched on many of the same themes I'd seen in the other articles; that the parts of Jumpcut worth paying attention to were the groups and remixing options. Jumpcut has a large remixing community and it seems that is their niche in the online editing community. These days, online editing is not a question of whether or not it's possible, but more to do with which software to choose. The basics features to do editing are there, and although not as advances as Final Cut Pro or Avid,  they definitely get the job done. Jumpcut is free, cross-platform and an amateur can edit something and put it online quickly. Controls in Jumpcut allow different level of privacy for videos and users can customize the remix options to allow or disable access to using their material. There will always be feature requests and drawbacks to software, but of the cons that were listed for Jumpcut seemed more like personal preference issues rather than anything that would hinder a user. I found that the overall Jumpcut experience beat my expectations.  I would definitely recommend using the service. For those interested in checking out some alternatives, try out Brightcove, Eyespot or Motionbox .

Esto está bien, pero el verdadero paso adelante es el que te permite incorporar escenas, fotos y música de otros usuarios a tus propios videos y, aun más allá, editar los videos colgados por otros. Así se genera una asociación colaborativa audiovisual entre usuarios que, seguramente, cambie nuestra concepción actual de cine.

No quisiera yo teorizar, pero con proyectos como el de Spike Lee y plataformas como Jumpcut, puede que el cine como producto industrial/cultural de masas se vea modificado y/o sustituido por una nueva forma de cine más abierta a la participación del público.

Tengamos en cuenta el fenómeno que están viviendo la televisión y la prensa escrita. Gracias a internet estos dos tipos de medios están abandonando su monopolio de emisores para convertirse, poco a poco y en cierta medida, también en receptores de contenidos, generados por unas audiencias rebeladas gracias a las herramientas gratuitas que internet les dispone.

Akhir-akhir ini semakin banyak website yang diblokir institusi, baik oleh pemerintah, hingga level ISP hingga level user. Keputusan pemerintah memerintahkan para Internet Service Provider untuk memblokir website-website tertentu (secara keseluruhan) adalah tindakan MENEMBAK NYAMUK DENGAN MERIAM. Hasilnya, bukan hanya nyamuk yang mati, tetapi tembok rumah hancur seluruhnya. Sehingga, tindakan ini bukan menyelesaikan permasalahan, tetapi memperburuk dan memperlambat pola pikir bangsa dalam memahami teknologi.

Baik buruknya tindakan ini pada akhirnya relatif, tentu. Dengan skenario adanya ahli telematika yang kurang kompeten tetapi beruntung, ditambah elemen aji mumpung dari penulis yang seenaknya menerbitkan konten internet kacangan, menyulut api pertentangan di Indonesia akhir-akhir ini. Akhirnya, kita semua sulit menemukan siapa yang salah dalam permasalahan ini. Tetapi, lepas dari siapa yang salah dan siapa yang benar, jangan mengaku orang kreatif dan jangan mengaku hacker yang intelek jika kita mampu memecahkan masalah ini. Puihh

Akhir kata, tulisan ini bukan untuk membahas politik yang segala hal lain yang bersangkutan. Tetapi, fokus pada sisi kreatifitas yang bisa membantu memahami teknologi untuk mempermudah hidup dan bukan sebaliknya. Adalah daftar website yang diblokir oleh sebagian besar penyedia jasa layanan internet di Indonesia. Ini adalah website-website yang banyak penggunanya di Indonesia.

Traffic website ini mencapai rata-rata 6 juta perbulan dan 12.4% dari traffic tersebut berasal dari Indonesia. Multiply.com merupakan website terbesar ke 9 di Indonesia dan nomor 116 di dunia.

MySpace.com
MySpace.com didatangi kurang lebih 60 juta orang perbulan. Tidak ada detil berapa pengunjung dari Indonesia.

YouTube.com
YouTube.com memiliki perkembangan luar biasa dan hingga saat ini, menurut Alexa, adalah website terbesar ke 2 di dunia.

Jutaan orang yang datang ke 3 website ini bukanlah tanpa alasan. Mereka datang untuk mencari informasi, bersilaturahmi, mencari koneksi dan alasan-alasan lainnya. Ada user yang buruk? Tentu, saya percaya dengan ungkapan dari teman saya seorang blogger dari Amerika, 'there are assholes in every part in this world'. Tetapi sekali lagi, tindakan memblokir mereka dapat membuktikan bahwa tindakan tersebut adalah tindakan membabi buta.

Hacker dan Kreatifitas

Menurut Wikipedia, Hacker dalam konteks komputer didefinisikan sebagai:

1. Hacker (computer security), someone who breaks computer and network security

2. Hacker (free and open source software), a programmer in the free software and open source movement

3. Hacker (hobbyist), an enthusiastic home computer hobbyist

Sementara itu kreatifitas adalah:

Creativity (or "creativeness") is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations between existing ideas or concepts.

Seorang hacker di Indonesia selalu diibaratkan seorang penjahat yang selalu merusak tatanan komputerisasi. Padahal, hacker itu adalah orang pandai dan kreatif. Dengan kepandaian dan kreatifitasnya, seorang hacker mampu menciptakan jaringan keamanan komputer menjadi lebih baik, menciptakan software open source yang membuat hidup banyak orang lebih baik, dan mereka itu penghobi komputer yang akut.

Dari latar belakang tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dunia internet tidak akan pernah berkembang tanpa hacker dan kreatifitas. Dengan catatan para hacker dan calon hacker sebaiknya menggunakan pola pikir 'Hack to Learn' dan bukan 'Learn to Hack'. Dengan menggunakan prinsip tersebut, siapapun yang belajar dengan menggunakan teknik-teknik kreatif yang tidak diajarkan di sekolah komputer, akan mendapat lebih banyak daripada yang belajar teknik-teknik jitu untuk berbuat tidak baik.

Website diblokir, pembunuhan Kreatifitas?

Yang sulit adalah mentalitas blokir website. Jika mentalitas itu tetap ada, maka pemblokiran website dimasa depan akan berlanjut terus. Maka, sebenarnya membuka blokiran website-website tersebut merupakan tindakan kepemimpinan yang bijak, tetapi jikapun tidak, tindakan ini tidak akan pernah mampu membunuh kreatifitas.

Meskipun lebih sulit mendapatkan informasi, ada banyak website lain yang tidak akan pernah mampu diblokir oleh para anti teknologi, dan cara-cara yang membuat kreatifitas hacker tidak pernah mati.

Dibawah ini adalah beberapa pendekatan untuk mengatasinya:

Pendekatan 1: Gunakan Free Proxy.

Free Proxy adalah sebuah teknik dengan menggunakan proxy server yang merupakan sebuah server (sistem komputer atau program aplikasi) yang melayani permintaan klien dengan memforward permintaan tersebut ke server lainnya. Caranya mudah, ketika salah satu dari alamat website dibawah ini, dan ketik youtube.com atau multiply.com atau myspace.com. Anda akan diantar dengan aman ke tujuan anda.

Ketikkan alamat website yang anda tuju ke Google.com atau Yahoo.com. Ada hasil 'tembolok' atau cached pages, klik disana dan masuk ke website yang anda tuju.

Pendekatan 4: Gunakan Yahoo BableFish.

Coba klik link ini untuk mengakses YouTube. Untuk mengakses MySpace gunakan link ini, dan Multiply gunakan link ini.

Pendekatan 5: Gunakan Google Translate sebagai proxy server.

Biasanya bisa juga digunakan untuk masuk ke video-video di YouTube yang hanya bisa dilihat oleh pengunjung dari region tertentu. Translate URL yang anda tuju menjadi bahasa apapun, anda akan diantar ke halaman yang anda tuju.

Pendekatan 6: Gunakan WatchThis.com.

Caranya mudah, klik link ini, masukkan url yang anda ingin dapatkan beritanya dan alamat email anda. Sesudah itu, setiap ada update dari website tersebut maka Watchthis.com akan mengantar perubahan itu ke email anda.

Pendekatan 7: Gunakan website PDF Converter.

Sign up untuk account gratis di Adobe Create PDF Online, isi URL content yang anda butuhkan. Hasil website dalam bentuk PDF akan dikirim ke email anda untuk di download.

Pendekatan 8: Gunakan alternatif video hosting site (untuk pengguna YouTube).

To do this review I will use four criteria on which I will base my comments: First, in terms of Video Player we can find different types of interfaces, ranging from very easy to use for the users to others very complicated. A second important point is the quality; while the sound normally is very similar along the spectrum of possibilities, the image is very different. A third point is the community, a very important criterion when thinking about web 2.0 applications. In this case, we need to assess if and how the users are allowed to comment and create social networks around the services. Finally, it is important to assess the financial component: how these services can create a revenue model for those interested in using them to attract consumers.

In conclusion if you want to be famous with a video you need to upload your video to youtube, if you want to create and edit videos Jumpcut is a good option, but if you are looking for a high quality service you need to try Vimeo.

I would add that other than those sites, we have this new emerging online interactive video market, such as Asterpix, Ooyala, Overlay.tv, etc. Service like Asterpix actually doesn't host your video. You could still use Youtube and Vimeo to host, and use their free web service and enhance your video and provides interactivity. You could then share with your friends or add to Facebook, Myspace, etc. For example, here's what you could do with Asterpix:

Jim Ellis from Connaught Community School and Kimberly Brown from Haultain Community School in Regina are team-teaching creative writing with their grade 7's. YES! -team teaching in two different cities. They are sharing the design of the assignment, the assessment, and the marking as well as responding to the students who are using blogs to post their writing.

This is a comment that one student left on Jim's blog.

I also learned about the cool tool from Jim. I had heard about JumpCut before but had never seen it used. JumpCut is an online video editing tool which lets you capture video and edit it online. Both Jim and Kim used JumpCut to introduce their writing assignment for the week. Kimberly asked students to introduce themselves and Jim used his web cam and JumpCut video effects to explain the week's assignment.

Jim's grade 7 students are also participating with five other classes from around the world in a collaborative project about the Idtarod. They plan to have this project underway in early February. Kudos to Jim, Kim and the other teachers for breaking out of the classroom walls and facilitating learning through global conversations, collaboration and creation.

The upload process will be almost the same, except they will see a new link in their upload files window entitled Link Upload. By simply copying and pasting the URL from the video site and clicking submit, ImageFolio will grab the video, the metadata tags, and a thumbnail image for the video, and place it directly into the chosen category. Users and administrators will then be able to add their own tags to further define the video and make it searchable within ImageFolio.

Current supported sites include: ClipShack, Google Video, YouTube, iFILM, JumpCut, and Sharkle. The Link Upload Plug-In will also support embedding of entire websites and URLs of anything that is posted on the Internet. Additional video sites can be added upon request if there is enough interest, and if not, it is always available via custom programming.

Pricing has not yet been determined.
