A pesar de que mi misantropía choca con su vigoréxica personalidad y de que he querido asesinarla casi tantas veces como ella a mi, han sido más veces las que casi me mata de risa con su persistente sentido del humor, sin duda para mi su mejor cualidad.

Hace la friolera de 13 años (faltan unos días) que nos conocimos, el primer año fué un poco fatidico, yo llegué al instituto con mucha compañía y era inevitable que no socializaramos demasiado, nos ignorabamos, nos provocavamos, me dibujaban en sus agendas en actos heroicos e incluso nos enganchamos alguna vez, lógicamente demasiado carácter para tan poco espacio.

Ese año fue un poco desastroso para mi, demasiadas historias fuera de los muros del Cristo Rey más mi absoluto pasotismo más la falta de exigencia por parte de los profesores me llevaron a repetir (con dos asignaturas) ese iba a ser un año divertido aunque tirara por tierra un año. Ese año 96 fue el año en que el destino dos dio la oportunidad de conocernos, fue en un ascensor de Bellvitge donde descubrimos nuestros orígenes comunes y es que ser engendradas por dos mujeres de Villargordo no puede ser algo casual, desde aquel momento decidimos ser 'primas'.

Después de infinitas salidas por Poble Nou, de horas tirados en un banco en la Guineueta, de intentar organizar en mi cabeza todo el organigrama social, de sesiones de cine a patadas, de horas muertas en mi casa haciendo malabares con bastones o matando el tiempo con toneladas de papel cuxe impresas de séptimo arte, de visitas a Sant Antoni para aumentar nuestro diogenismo cinéfilo, estaba claro que nuestro interés por devorar cultura y experiencias acabaría por separarnos. Mi adicción por internet tuvo la culpa, quizás si hubiera sido mutua habría sido mejor, pero lo más interesante en aquella época para ella era hacernos pasar por unas tías buenas follables en chats surreales con interlocutores de bonitos ojos(guardaré esa foto???), la cuestión es que nuestro inseparable camino se bifurcó tomando cada una el camino que más le convenía obviously. A pesar de que nunca hemos recuperado la complicidad de antaño, me enorgullece pensar que un día existió.

Rebelde, curiosa, impetuosa, osada e incansable. Una de esas personas que no pone precio a su tiempo libre. Ociosa en el buen sentido de la palabra, le interesa todo lo que le aporte experiencias viajar, leer,  sentir, absorver,  eso si, no es ni una moderna ni una pretenciosa, cosa bastante complicada.

Es capaz de atrapar sus sueños aunque tenga que cruzar medio mundo para conseguirlo, creo que nunca le he dicho cuanto la admiro por eso.

Es irónico como la vida nos hace enfrentarnos a nuestros fantasmas cuando creíamos que los habíamos dejado muy muy atrás, aunque no le deseo a nadie pasar por lo que estas pasando ahora, pero estoy convencida de que te va a hacer mucho mejor persona.

Después de todo, aunque nuestros puntos de vista son muy distintos en muchas cosas, lo que queda es lo que uno siente, yo sé que puedo contar con ella en cualquier momento que lo necesite para cualquier historia surreal que me pasé y ella sabe que en cualquier momento nos ponemos con mi moto en cualquier hospital llueva o nieve. Y sé lo que siento, un grandioso afecto por una compañera de viaje que con muy poco esfuerzo consigue arrancarme una carcajada en el alma.

Te quiero perra aunque te guste un viejuno que no se aguanta los pedos!

Episode Title: Nice and Breezy

Anime Impressions:

OK after seeing Sanya's rear, we find that the girls are sleeping soundly. Sanya returning from night patrol, crawls into bed after stripping down to her bare essentials. While the girls wake up to the usual morning call Mio is out early training and is later joined by Miyafuji, where Mio rigorously trains her.

The episode focused mostly on Erica and Lucchini. Erica is Karlsland's sixteen year old "ultra ace" of the Luftwaffe JG 52, which of German origin I think, but she is sloppy and even misplaced her medals. Lucchini a rather young and playful girl causes mischief in this episode, she steals Miyafuji's panties and causes a trouble for quite a few as well, thus making every one feeling "nice and breezy" down there. Erica later stops her and during her medal presentation you can clearly see her wearing Lucchini pantsu. There was no Neuroi attack sequence in this episode, the girls were about to take off but some had their pantsu missing, but it seems Mio was undeterred about not taking off. I am not going to write more about this episode as the screenshots speak for themselves, as it clearly was a pantsu one.

For me (Avalon) I think it was a little over a year ago. I don't really like pictures of lolies that are too explicit though some aren't too bad, as long as the art doesn't absolutely suck which is what currently plagues most explicit loli pics right now.

Art: My, my how Mihara has changed. I didn’t even realize that The Embalmer was done by the same mangaka as Doll until the two series were sitting side by side on my shelves. Now, Mihara’s overall style hasn’t changed much; if I compare a page from Doll to a page from The Embalmer, I can tell it is done by the same artist. However, this series has a certain something about it that just makes the art so much more appealing. The art is softer, there’s a more diverse use of tone, the inking is better, there are detailed backgrounds, and the people are drawn better. Unlike with Doll, the quality of illustration on the cover is what you get in the book and there are some pages that the reader will enjoy studying for a few moments more than it takes just to read the page.

Story: Mihara has presented another wonderful story to her readers with The Embalmer. The plot focuses on Shinjyurou Mamiya, an embalmer. Because it is more traditional to cremate the dead in Japan, society frowns upon Mamiya’s profession and sees him as a bit of a freak and an outcast. Mamiya ignores the obvious scorn the people feel for him because he knows that his work is important, not just for the dead, but also for those they have left behind...

Again, Mihara has written a story ripe with emotion. The characters are sympathetic and sincere. The story is so believable, it just might have happened. IGN.com was quoted on the back of the book as having said that this book would “really tug at your heartstrings,” a statement which holds true.

Characters: Most of the characters in The Embalmer only appear in one chapter. The two central protagonists are Azuki Natsui and, of course, Shinjyurou Mamiya. They are youthful characters and their behavior reflects this on occasion, but they usually conduct themselves in a mature manner, especially Mamiya who sometimes seems wise beyond his years. Azuki is a cheerful, kindhearted girl, but she’s also not afraid to put her foot down. She gets aggravated by Shinjyurou frequently, but she cares for him. Shinjyurou is a bit strange, and sometimes sleazy, but he is well-meaning and a good guy deep down. He’s a womanizer, ok, I won’t lie, he’s pretty much a nympho but the reason behind it is... read volume three to find out!

The secondary characters are interesting: one is a narcissist, another is a compulsive liar, there is a gothic lolita ball joint doll maker, Azuki’s brother works for a candy company (but his name is neither Willy nor Wonka), there’s even a transvestite! Every person is unique, and their troubles and motivations can be inspiring, terrifying, or heartbreaking and sometimes all three.

Apparently, there's a live action film. That guy looks nothing like what I imagined a real Shinjyurou would look like.

Miscellaneous: The end is really beautiful and The Embalmer has a positive message, but some of the themes in certain chapters are disturbing. This series is definitely not for the squeamish and those easily upset by the thought of touching a corpse. With all those cadavers, I was totally expecting a zombie or two on more than one occasion; but then again, I do have a secret zombie film obsession. Also, I commend the folks down at Tokyopop who did the cover designs. Kudos.

By the way, I apologize for the pictures. It's hard to find good images for this series. I found a few nice ones, but it was hard to determine whether or not they were fan works, so I decided not to post them.

The Bottom Line: I enjoyed reading The Embalmer, even though I was apprehensive about it at first. It seemed like the kind of story that could either be really good or really bad. The art in the Embalmer is good, the story is mature, psychological and deeply emotional; and I think most serious manga readers would enjoy it. If you’re mostly a fan of hack and slash shounen or shoujo love stories perhaps the Embalmer is not for you. Even if it doesn’t seem like something you’d generally read, pick up the first volume and give it a whirl. Remember, you can always flip through the first few pages the next time you’re at the bookstore... unless the book’s wrapped in plastic.

Here we have the sequel for Kodomo no Jikan, the second term and below is the trailer for it, so enjoy LOLI-ing yourself while waiting for them to be aired. Pity its only released as an OVA (according to MyAnimeList) - most probably around 2 to 3 episodes or 6 max perhaps. As you all can see from the clip, all the characters are back and I didnt notice any new faces in there (only Kokonoe Rin looks a bit matured). By the way, expect more zany school dramas from these three musketeers as they enrolled into their 4th grade.

Very hard to say what awaits us in these incoming sequels but anyway this second term definitely will be in my watch list.

I thought we might need to touch this issue a little more. We only have 4 members in this lolicon religion, and i would say we need more.

• We will be open to suggestions by all our members on what else we can do.

We will do more things as we can think of them, but those are what we plan on doing for the beginning. All members will be able to participate in the creation of this religion. From writing passages, to writing the commandments.

Now as a closing statement:

Sanya is the bottom left girl, holding the stuffed toy. Will be intresting to see how her story pans out.

AND, shows how much I've been paying attention... apparantly its 1944..... :doi: I honestly don't remember seeing any other dates at the bottom of the screen untill now. Maybe in the first ep, but that was 6 weeks ago!! My memory ain't fantastic lol.

EDIT: The end of the episode has a pretty moving bit and a nice piece of music, so if you cry easy, be prepared. The ed song is also probably my favourite so far, sung by, I assume, Sanya and Eila.

Since this holds a special spot in my (and I'm sure a lot of others) heart, I spent some extra time on the editing and actually "translated" the moans in this on!

This review will be a little harder than the others since it's been so damn long since I've seen the anime. This anime is weird because there are like a million different orders you can watch the episodes in...ok, slight exaggeration, but you get my point. This anime has comedy, slight romance, a little mystery at times, and you could almost say it's a slice-of-life anime for a few of the episodes, but definitely not all the episodes.

Animation - 8/10
Ok, it's been a long time, but I don't remember anything wrong with the animation. I don't remember being blown away by the animation either, so I'll give it a solid 8.

Sound - 8/10
Sound isn't bad at all and I loved the characters voices. The voice actors did a great job with this anime. The beginning and ending themes aren't bad and they both fit very well with the style of the anime. Another solid 8.

Story - 8.5/10
This anime has a very interesting story and I like how they did it. Haruhi is a girl obsessed with supernatural, mystical, and...unexplainable stuff. If my memory serves me right, then Haruhi has the powers of a deity and the fun thing about it is that she doesn't know it. Some incident happened in the past caused by her and this gains the attention of some different organizations like people from the future, the Agency which comprises of espers, and aliens. These three organizations send a person to stay by Haruhi's side to make sure she doesn't get in trouble or cause trouble. Kyon is the main guy in this anime and he has no idea what the hell is going on and how he got himself involved with Haruhi. The story is basically about their adventures and daily events. There isn't really a "real" ending since there is a 2nd season or at least will be...when the hell is it coming out or is it out already?

This song actually fits quite well with the story.

Character - 9/10
I personally thought the characters were very well done. Haruhi is crazy and a riot to be around. She never takes "no" for an answer and somehow manages to make Kyon do whatever she wants. Kyon is an awesome character because he isn't one of those always happy or inconclusive guys. He always has his own opinion and as narrator, he isn't afraid to let you know what it is. Itsuki Koizumi is always happy, but not in a gay way. He always listens to Haruhi and follows her with whatever decisions she makes. Yuki Nagato (is that right?) is pretty much emotionless and only shows slight emotion when around computers. She is awesome with some of the things she can do. Mikuru Asahina is always being used by Haruhi to attract potential new members to the SOS Brigade, the club all the characters I've mentioned above are members of. Mikuru is really nice and is always being forced to wear revealing or embarrassing outfits for the reason mentioned in the previous sentence.

For example:

Wow, that was a long description...sorta. These characters are funny when brought together and they all have their own secrets...except Kyon who is the only normal one of the group. I could be wrong since like I said it's been a long time since I've seen it.

Overall: Average: 8.375/10...My Score: 8.5/10 This is one of those anime that is very entertaining even though it doesn't really seem like it would be...at least it's like that for me. Really good anime and no real complaints so I recommend this to...whoever...I think. If your looking for pure action then this anime is not for you.

Well....a lot of what you guys search to get here is scary, but I guess it entertains me and Avalon enough, so keep searching weird things. As long as we are getting the traffic I suppose...

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been pretty busy with two things. Firstly being working my ass off in overtime at work, and secondly, Soul Calibur 4.

I've got a huge backlog of figurines that I want to photoshop and post, but you'll have to wait, and trust me, it will be worth the wait. The ideas I've got rolling around in my head, even I'm giggling gleefully like a school-girl in anticipation.
