2. The Backstage is accessible at the Dock. However, it's only for members. To gain access to go into the room, you'll to buy the Backstage pass at booth at Snow Forts.
3. There's catalogue which sells musical instruments in the room, and there's a secret in it. Click on the dot of the letter "i" in the word "Music Catalog".
4. The "APPLAUSE" button at your bottom-right of your screen enables you to clap for a good band.

The point of the game is to make a beat. The better that the beat is the more coins that you will earn.

• Step on one of the many stages, and it plays new music.
• There is a new DJ Game at the Night Club.

Not everybody can go backstage though! Only members, this might make some non-members sad, in fact I saw that it made some non-members go on strike! (Not quite sure how running around saying we want in is gonna get them in though)

Looks like Nintedo is working on maraca controllers for the game "Samba de Amigos". According to GoNintedo, the box is too big for just the game, that's why they believe that soon Wii will have new controllers.

But more important... I was wondering...

Why maracas??

The game is called "Samba de Amigos", I was expecting something like a pandeiro (link for those of you that doesn't know what that is) controller. As far as I know, and being the daughter of a samba lover and brazilian I know a lot about it, maracas are not used to play samba.

Seems like Nintendo made some mistake. They are probably thinking that Brazilians use maracas, or that the Mexicans invented samba. By the draw on the box, they think that Mexicans invented samba. Noticed that the monkey is using a sombrero (link so you can get more intelligent)?

Parece que a Nintedo está trabalhando em controles maraca para o jogo "Samba de Amigos". De acordo com GoNintedo, a caixa é muito grande para o jogo, por isso eles acreditam que logo o console Wii terá novos controles.

Por que maracas?

O jogo chama "Samba de Amigos", eu estava esperando algo como um controle pandeiro. Até onde eu saiba, e sendo a filha de um amante do samba e brasileira eu sei bastante, maracas não são utilizados no samba.

Da questa base musicale i cantanti con la armonia delle loro voci sviluppano le varie tematiche, dalle canzoni patriottiche a quelle di tema politico, dai temi romantici fino a quelli umoristici, che hanno come comune denominatore un sabor totalmente caraibico.

Il Son come ballo tradizionale, ha cadenza medio / lenta di origine rumbera, ma meno appariscente della stessa, con poca coreografia e mette invece più in risalto le azioni del corpo.

Il suo tipico passo base orizzontale deriva dalle piantagioni di canna da zucchero, ove gli schiavi di colore, erano costretti a muoversi con piccoli passi laterali, essendo incatenati gli uni agli altri, ed ondeggiavano il corpo per il taglio della canna.

Questo è un esempio di SON ballato da un ballerino e coreografo cubano di nome Juan Carlos Pacheco. 

Il Son è un genere che è nato a Cuba, più precisamente nella zona di Santiago, parte orientale e rurale dell'isola, intorno alla fine del 1800 e viene considerato il Padre della Salsa.

Arriva in America e poi in Europa.

Solo in seguito, con l'introduzione di accordi avanzati e con lo sviluppo del suo ritmo, prenderà il nome di Salsa.

 Le maracas sono strumenti a percussione di tipo idiofono che ha origine nel Sudamerica, dove erano in origine costituite da una zucca cava riempita di sassolini e munita di impugnatura.

Lo strumento produce suono per scuotimento. Modelli di maracas perfezionati si sono diffusi ampiamente nelle orchestre di musica leggera e successivamente sono stati utilizzati anche nel jazz e nella musica colta.

Nella salsa e nella musica latina aggiungono quel giusto pizzico di pepe.

Questa è una bellissima esibizione di un assolo di maracas.

Dreamcast é um console que tem aqueles games elogiados e que nunca ninguém jogou. Mas tem um outro game que também passou pelo Dreamcast e ficou mais na memória do que em gamers jogando: Samba de Amigo.

Estava passeando no Kotaku e tem algumas info sobre o game lá, sem mencionar esta scan acima, versão wii, o que é legal, já que ainda não tinha visto nenhuma imagem do game. O que eu achei legal de info:

- A versão do Wii utilizará Nunchuk + Wiimote para substituir as maracas da versão do Dreamcast.
- O jogador que tiver 2 wiimotes poderá optar por utilizá-los ao inves do nunchuk. O que deve ser mais agradável já que assim evita o fio do nunchuk atrapalhando.
- Samba de Amigo será uma semi-sequência, o que quer dizer que terá muitos elementos reutilizados do primeiro game, mas também trará coisas novas.
- Algumas das músicas famosas do primeiro game retornam como "Samba de Janiero", "Cup of Life", "Hot Hot Hot" e "Vamos a Carnaval". A lista final de músicas ainda não foi finalizada.
- O jogo ainda está em estágio inicial de desenvolvimento.
- Por hora não há planos para um controle "Maraca" como no Dreamcast. E é provavél que não haja.

Legalzinho. Eu sou um dos que estou curioso pelo game do Macaquinho bizarro da Sega. Ah e algumas músicas de Samba pode ser ouvidas em Sega Superstars Tennis. Tem umas bem legais em termos de ritmo. Que realmente faz empolgar. XD

E mais um adendo, acho que este tipo de jogo não basta apenas o conceito musical. Tem que haver alguns mini-games para tornar a experiência mais completa e divertida. Espero que tenha alguns, pois até agora nada foi falado sobre isso.

But seriously, I hope Harriet had as great of a time as I did.

An interesting comment was made last night... I guess Amanda was telling people (or just Ed) to read my blogs because all I do is say how awesome I am.  I got rather embarrassed at that.  Because it's true- when I write my blogs here, I do focus on myself and generally the awesome things I do (at least I find them awesome and most people who are with me tend to agree)... but gosh.  I felt so stupid knowing that behind my back people are basically laughing at me for being so egotistical (Ed said my blog was very funny)... when I'm really not that egotistical at all.  I know that everyone is better than me at everything... but I still work so hard at the life I have and that in turn gives me confidence.  Because I need to have confidence.  Without the confidence that I possess, my life will slip into the hands of mediocrity.  I don't know... the more I think about it, the more pathetic I feel.  There were times last night where I felt so comfortable... and other times where I was pretty sure I couldn't have been in a more wrong place.

Today feels off.  I'm not sure why it does... Maybe it's because I can't really fathom that I actually have tomorrow off.  It's like, I've got all these plans today, but I'm convinced none of them are going to work out because I have to go to school tomorrow!... but I really don't.  aggh!  I just hope most of the plans I have work out.  I'd looove to watch the Animatrix with Harriet then lead into the next movies (itd be epic to watch all four features)... and have Glenn join us.  And then John later so we can watch Advent Children... and then practice... and then we can all play katamari damacy!

Well, all I can focus on is finding that camera used last night and seeing all the pictures mom took.  I'm dying to see how Harriet and I looked together. 

Ahh- last night was so wonderful for so many reasons and I can't find any words to really describe it.  Among the things that happened, the things that were said, and the feelings felt... it was truly bliss.

The day before we left Murray and I took a walk along the beach, where we got 'nized. I had a feeling we'd get recognized before we left, and lo and behold...anyway, the girl was really nice and now I feel bad that we didn't talk but we were in serious vacation mode. But let's rewind a bit for some vocabulary: getting 'nized.

The term was introduced to us by Benvie, who credits it to fellow Haligonian Matt Murphy. What's up with everyone from the East Coast being so incredibly witty? We just can't keep up over here, probably because we're too bitter and self-concerned in Montreal. Anyhow, the term has caught on and we've been using it since.

Murray's was on a quest for some real percussion...not that manufactured plastic crap they sell you at Steve's. I mean, that stuff is good and durable for touring, but in the studio nothing sounds nicer than natural percussion. Murray found a couple tambourines, a few sets of maracas and bongos. They all sound really dynamic and organic. Basically that's what's left to do on the recording; what we like to call "the sprinkles." The other night Murray and Krief were up all night in the basement working on recording a guitar line. We also have to lay down a bunch of vocals, which I think we're just going to do in the house.

So, to conclude, it's good to be home, even though it's really cold here.
