I met Fabio, my most recent serious ex, online.  His profile mentioned that he was a professional engineer, that he had sole custody of his three kids and that his mother lived with him to assist with the children as he frequently travelled for work.  HA!  And in case you didn't hear that:  HA!  HA! 

In reality I came to realise that he was a salesman rather then an engineer, he had strong armed the kids into living with him and/or his mother so that he wouldn't have to pay child support and he had moved them all into the house his mother owned after he split with his last live-in partner and declared personal bankruptcy.

NEW YORK - Miley Cyrus appeared on the Today show in New York City and did her image justice.  She is not entirely to blame for her sassy attitude and her lack of respect for anything other than having sex.  It seems that she has been trained well by a former road hog, Billy Ray Cyrus, who has been known as the "singer who slept with 30,000 different fans!"  I wonder what kind of role model he is for a growing, hormonally imbalanced 13-year old girl. The news has leaked out that Miley is not really Cyrus's daughter. She has a twin brother who wonders if he will ever meet her. When asked if he wants to meet her, he said, "Well, I think she needs me because she is only 13 and kids who are this age should be interested in good things and not in bad things.  There is plenty of time to be an adult and I hope that I can help her."   Boston singer, Michelle Fortune told the staff at Rock Salt Entertainment that she believes she is truly her biological mother. The lady lived in Nashville during the early 90's and when she gave birth alone at the Women's Hospital in Nashville, owned by HCA Healthcare, she believes that she was robbed of her twin daughter, Miley Cyrus.  We asked her why she would make such a statement without proof.  "If there is any doubt, schedule a DNA test for us on television like some of the talk show celebrities do for people who question paternity!"  Everyone is hoping that this story leaks out and the truth is made public. I think that Miley Cyrus would be better off playing dolls, sports and doing well in school with her brother and mother rather than, working on what condom feels best on her.

NANA é uma série de mangás de muito sucesso, tanto que já ganhou adaptações para as telonas (2005 e 2006) e em anime (2006 e 2007). Em junho, a editora JBC anunciou que lançará o mangá por aqui, mas ainda sem uma data definida.

Bem, a essa altura você deve estar se perguntando: "Legal, mas o que tem a ver o sete?". Pois bem, acontece que nana, em japonês, é sete! E é claro que isso é bem explorado durante toda a série.
Aliás, já é hora de darmos uma geral na trama!

Tudo gira em torno de duas mulheres que dividem o mesmo nome (eu realmente preciso dizer qual é?). Nana Oosaki (大崎 ナナ) é vocalista da banda punk BLACK STONES (BlaSt) e não vê a hora de estrear para deixar os sentimentos pelo ex-namorado, Ren Honjou (本城蓮), para trás. Os dois viviam juntos e tocavam na mesma banda, porém Ren recebeu a oferta de entrar para a TRAPNEST (T-nest), uma banda de grande sucesso, e para isso teria de se mudar para Tóquio, assim, deixando Nana.
Enquanto isso, em outra cidadezinha, Nana Komatsu vive quase que tranqüilamente, não fosse o fato de seu amigos e namorado terem se mudado para Tóquio. Por isso, ela junta dinheiro para poder viajar a Tóquio e se juntar a eles. Komatsu é incrivelmente submissa e se apaixona facilmente por qualquer homem bonito e que a trate bem.
Eis que quando Komatsu consegue o dinheiro necessário e embarca no trem para sua viagem, ela se senta ao lado de ninguém mais ninguém menos que Nana Oosaki e descobre rapidamente que as duas têm o mesmo nome. Depois de várias outras coincidências, as duas acabam morando juntas e, mesmo com a diferença de gênios, as duas desenvolvem um amor muito grande uma pela outra. NANA foi escrita por Ai Yazawa (矢沢あい ,) e é publicada na revista Cookie japonesa.

Bem, considerando que a personagem principal tem uma banda, a música é um fator muito presente na série. Para as adaptações (tanto em live-action como a animada), foram chamadas cantoras famosas para dar voz às vocalistas das bandas BLACK STONES e TRAPNEST, Nana e Reira, respectivamente. Veja abaixo um pouco de cada uma:

MIKA NAKASHIMA (中島美嘉)
Ela viveu Nana Oosaki no cinema e fez muito sucesso com a música GLAMOROUS SKY no primeiro filme, escrita pela própria Ai Yazawa e composta por HYDE, vocalista da banda L'arc~en~ciel. O single vendeu mais de 440.000 cópias só em 2005. No segundo filme, a música principal foi Hitoiro (一色; uma cor), uma balada, que também foi um grande sucesso. No final de 2006, Mika lançou um álbum chamado THE END reunindo todas as músicas que fez para o filme. Para os lançamentos de NANA, ela usava o nome NANA starring MIKA NAKASHIMA.

YUNA ITO (伊藤 由奈)
Yuna deu vida à Reira Serizawa, também nos dois filmes. Sua principal música sob o nome de REIRA starring YUNA ITO é ENDLESS STORY, uma versão em japonês do hit If I'm Not in Love de Jody Watley. O single, na época, vendeu quase tanto quanto GLAMOROUS SKY. No segundo filme, a música escolhida foi Truth, outra agradável balada. Apesar de ainda ser um sucesso, este último single não alcançou o mesmo patamar dos anteriores.

ANNA TSUCHIYA (土屋アンナ)
No anime, Anna era Nana, sob o nome de ANNA TSUCHIYA inspi' NANA (BLACK STONES). As músicas da série animada, no geral, não atingiram o mesmo sucesso das canções dos filmes, mas ainda assim agradaram bastante o público. Entre as músicas de Anna, podemos citar rose e LUCY, duas músicas de rock bem pra cima que foram usadas como abertura para o anime. Kuroi Namida (黒い涙; lágrimas negras), uma linda power-ballad, foi a trilha para um dos encerramentos. No início de 2007, foi lançado um álbum reunindo essas e outras músicas inspiradas por NANA.

OLIVIA
Apesar de não ser tão conhecida quanto as outras cantoras, OLIVIA foi escolhida para cantar para o TRAPNEST, sob o nome OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST). Seu primeiro single sob esse nome, a little pain, ajudou a torná-la mais conhecida e a conquistar mais fãs pelo mundo todo. Vale ressaltar que essa música possui o mesmo refrão de Just Missed The Train, sucesso dos anos 90 pela cantora norueguesa Trine Rein, porém, nenhum crédito é dado aos compositores originais. Outras músicas que OLIVIA gravou para a série incluem Wish e Recorded Butterflies. Assim como Anna, no início de 2007 um álbum com essas e outras canções do anime foi lançado.

Um pouco antes do final do anime, foi lançada uma compilação especial chamada NANA BEST, que juntava as músicas de ANNA TSUCHIYA inspi' NANA (BLACK STONES) e OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST) e ainda possuía algumas inéditas.

Nota: Lembrando que no anime, Anna e OLIVIA não dublavam os personagens, cediam a voz apenas quando elas cantavam.

NANA com certeza é recomendado para aqueles que gostam de uma história leve, divertida e com muita música!

A misanthrope? sometimes.  Overall lets forget the all-explanatory illusions we've given ourselves concerning science.  It doesn't give us the answer.  Only illuminates a tiny speck on the face of the UNiverse Question.  Life is to be lived, and curiosity didn't kill the cat.  Nine lives.  Poetry is back in your science beaker and math in your fashionista's face on the cover of a magazine.  Its all numbers and proportions.  Remember Miley Cyrus (Incorporated) is on top of a pyramid of hundreds of people on here bankroll who generate her image as we know it----she is not doing this without help from Walmart.  Thats what separates the modern from the hyper-modern.  We here in the cyber World Wide Wildwest, build our totems without any help.  Desert drifters collect waterbuckets for the Web well, no strings or con-men factories but individual platforms for feeling how you wants to feel.  Free.  No charge. A rehashed rehash of a remake from an original film based on a novel based on a poem inspired by a play. This is what extensions of modernity is like....

Taking the Rockefeller Center stage like the seasoned pro that she’s become, Miley Cyrus gave an amazing performance on this morning’s Today Show.

The “7 Things” songstress worked the crowd as she danced her heart out while belting out songs from her just-released new album Breakout.

Miss Cyrus looked hot in a tie-dyed black and beige top with a rainbow sequin neckline paired with some white trousers and plenty of funky chunky jewelry.

Now normally I wouldn't care about the tangled lives of Disney's hottest young starlettes, but this video is the best.  Miley and her BBF Mandy make fun of their rivals Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Demi Lovato (Camp Rock). 

Selena is now dating Miley's ex Nick Jonas, of Jonas Brothers fame.  It's just all so high school and catty that you can't help but laugh and be glad that you are an adult.  Plus these kids are so controlled by the House of Mouse it's good to know they are not really all that wholseome.

Miley commanded the Plaza, and prepubescent girls crushed each other in an attempt to stroke the popstrel's suede knee-high boot (note to Costume Mistress: suede in all forms is a poor wardrobe choice for Manhattan in July).  The audience mouthed the words to each song (as Miley did herself, because there is no way that she could have delivered such a flawless vocal performance in the throws of what appeared to be an epileptic fit - note to Billy Ray: add dance class to Miley's after-school activities). 

For Sure, Miley is cute as a button - self possessed and confident, gracious to her fans and not exactly lacking in the looks department.  She doesn't ooze rehearsed Lolita-esque sexuality (a la Britney circa 1999) and she doesn't seem the type to partake in a pre-show hit on the crack pipe or self-induced post-binge vomit (a la Lindsey circa 2004).  By all accounts, and IMHO, Miley is squeaky clean, endearingly nerdy and apparently well-adjusted.

So, what is my beef with Miley? (you knew it was coming, I am never short on beefs).  Her lyrics.  I very much want to believe that she cuddled up with her Hello Kitty notebook to exorcize her daemons from a recent tiff with a boyfriend through cathartic song-writing.  The song, 7 Things is extremely believable: Miley rails on her immature boyfriend, enumerating his flaws and peccadilloes.  For example, Miley instructs the boyfriend “your friends they’re jerks/ and when you act like them, it hurts.”  OK.  And further, “you’re vain, your games, you’re insecure/ you love me, but you like her.”  Got it – rings true, n’est pa?  Here is where it gets dicey- “the 7^th thing I hate most that you do/ You make me love you.”  Profoundly touching, especially when juxtaposed with the preceding laundry list exposing this dude’s questionable character. 

But LOVE?  When and where does Miley have time to fall in love?  When did she foster this relationship that provides her entrée to this fella’s world of asshole friends, shameless preening and manipulation?  Through a cursory Google search, I learned the following: Miley Cyrus (nee Destiny Hope Cyrus) was born in late 1992, and is currently15 ½ years old.  Since the age of 10, Miley has been employed full time as an actor, most significantly, starring as Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel’s TV hit of the same name.  Additionally, Miley’s recording career has been prolific – both under her nom de plume, Ms. Montana, and as herself, Destiny Hope.  That’s quite list of extracurriculars.  Doesn’t leave much time for dating, not to mention Love.  I am 34, unemployed and super lazy, and I barely have time for such business with my husband of 9 years.

Miley’s lyrics provide universally sympathetic visuals of long, locker-lined middle school hallways steaming with sexual tension and gawky insecurity.  You can literally see Miley, applying Bonny Bell at her locker, when she spies in her mirror the object of her angst lumbering down the hall among a group of (shorter, less attractive) jocks, knocking the crutches out from under a disabled student and stealing a HoHo from maw of a fat girl.  However, upon reaching Miley, he breaks away from his crones, produces a rose, or a mix CD or a Claire’s gift card, and playfully punches her arm and asks what she’s doing after school.  As Miley gazes into his pimply visage, absolving him of his sins, he gazes over her shoulder into the mirror, runs his fingers through his tousled locks, and gives himself a wink.  We’ve all been there, or at least have witnessed this scene reenacted tenfold in the ubiquitous teen dramas so popular in the late 1990s.

This morning, on the Plaza, I noticed one little girl in the crowd, in particular. Her eyes were shut tight, head swaying as she belted out the lyrics to Breakout, spit collecting on the rubber bands that supported her elaborate orthodonture:  “Every week’s the same/ Stuck in school is so lame/ My parents say that I am lazy/ Getting up at 8 is crazy.”  No just hold on one minute!  Am I to believe that Miley Cyrus suffers from the same “punch in, punch out” ennui that plagues so many suburban tweens?  Am I supposed to be convinced that Billy Ray, who hasn’t made a nickel since selling 100 cassette singles of Achey Breaky Heart in 1995 would dare to accuse his golden goose of sloth?

Though it is implausible that Ms. Cyrus has any personal experience with the subject matter of her songs, and therefore, it is equally unlikely to have drafted the lyrics herself, I am not willing to recognize the power of her influence over little girls. Regardless of who does her writing, Miley’s performance is convincing and natural.  He message is generally positive, with a resonant Girlpower! theme empathetic of  universal issues such as friendships, asserting  one’s independence and uniqueness (e.g., “I might even be a rockstar!”).

Would I camp out in Rockefeller Center with my daughter to watch a 15 minute free  performance by Miley Cyrus?  Absolutely not.  But it has nothing to do with Miley, there is virtually nothing that would induce me to sleep out-of-doors on a collapsed cardboard box in Midtown, or anywhere else on the isle of Manhattan. Nevertheless, I would certainly treat my kids to a download of Miley/Hannah’s iTunes library (and perhaps I already have, I mean, for my kids and all, not for me. But you have to admit, See You Again is catchy). After all, what’s not to like?  She’s just bein’ Miley.

The movie, Undiscovered Gyrl (based on the novel by Allison Burnett) is about a nice, suburban girl who later on plunges herself into the life of late nights and partying.

"It is still early days, but Miley is really interested in the film, which follows the story of a lovable, lost suburban girl who descends into a life of reckless partying and promiscuity." said a source "If she does get the part, you will be seeing a lot more of her than you did in the Vanity Fair photos - there would definitely be nude scenes."

What will Billy Ray say about this?

DAAAAMN! Miley Cyrus is a BITCHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  Simply hatin' on this other Disney chick, Selena Gomez (named after Selenas) and her cutie friend, Demi Lovato just cause that girl is dating her EX, that one dude from The Jonas Brothers.  Is Disney incestuous when it comes to dating? Probably, but seriously DAMN, HATER.  I'm all about Miley Cyrus, I even bought "See You Again" on iTunes, simply for the fact that if she can get a 21 year old woman to listen to her music, even for one second,  she deserves royalties.  Anyway, Miley reminds me of many girls, chicks who get super heated about their ex-dudes dating new chicks.  Well, I mean, we've all been there, I have even gone as far as throwing drinks, ect, ect, ect, but I have never resorted to e-slander of any kind.  Any chick trying to go viral with her hating has some serious jealousy issues, and should realize that only people who are 16 (like Miley) should resort to YOUTUBE for publicly e-hating.  I don't know why Miley's tranny friend is joining in, that Lovato chick is a babe.  I'm definitely backing Disney in hiring young Latina actresses, thats MAJOR! If I were Miley, I would've either a) tried to beat mini-Hannah Montana up, or b) started dating someone waayyyyyyyyyyyyy cooler than that loser from that loser Disney band.  Come on Miley, GET SERIOUS about your vindication, before these two other chicks (who will definitely blow up) one-up you romantically (too late) and professionally!! I first off am offended that automatically girls choose to use hearts and pink in their bumpers, insinuating that all of us girls JUST MUST LOVEEEE the color pink, and hearts. Well news flash? We don't. I also cannot explain to you how irritating it is to see page after page of Hopeless/Pathetic girl created bumpers that are pretty much cries for help in my opinion. Downgrade. 

Everyone's Favorite: Some ECards 

I seem to find these oddly amusing, as do most people. I can't explain what exactly it is about these particular bumpers that I love, perhaps it's the fact that the written joke has nothing WHATSOEVER to do with the picture being displayed in the bumper. If you think about any of the E Cards for the most part, you will take note of the fact that they really don't make any sense. Maybe that's their niche? 

How Can We Forget, The Jonas Brother's Collection

For those of you who have read my posts before, I am sure you will remember that I clearly not know much about nor do I care to learn about Miley Cyrus. Therefore, the same rules apply for The Jonas Brothers. Boys? I really don't care if you wish to stay virgins until marriage, nor do I care that you maintain a squeaky clean image while still racking in the millions. Get off of Facebook bumpers and back into Nickelodeon, thanks.
