Well it was announced at Comic Con that The Joker (along with the Green Lantern and some new additions to the MK side) would be making their way into Midway's MK Vs. DC fighter.

Well now it's been revealed. The image above shows how The Joker will look in the game. Hey he looks pretty cool, but more like he does in the comics and cartoons. It'd be nice if he looked more like the Heath Ledger/Dark Knight Joker. An unlockable costume perhaps? Probably not.

If this doesn't get all of you Marvel/Capcom/Fighting game fans excited I don't know what will.  Lets face it, I went into Gamestop the other day to buy a used version of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, guess what, $79.99 was the price.  $80 for a used PS2 GAME!  I mean really, if that's not confirming how popular this series is, then I don't know what is.  If you go onto Ebay, you'll be lucky to find it for under $100 a piece. 

Naturally since the beginning of time, Marvel & DC have competed and copied each others moves through their long history as #1 & #2.  So this could be Marvel's answer to Mortal Kombat vs. DCU.  To me, I'm a Marvel fan through and through, so Marvel vs. Capcom is much more appealing that MK vs. DCU.

News out of Comic Con here and Midway's Ed Boon has announced that popular DC characters The Joker and The Green Lantern will be making their way into their new fighter Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. Also announced were Jax and Kitana from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Boon announced that there would be a special edition of the game which would include a comic book illustrated by Mortal Kombat co-creator John Tobias. Sounds cool.

The guys have also said that the remaining roster of characters and the final boss will be revealed over the coming months

2 totally different worlds, 2 different powers going head to head ... the brutallity of the MK team and then the super powers of the DC's .. it's gonna be cool but with a few little problems they gonna have to think through first really in my eyes.

Firstly ... how is anyone gonna kick the shit outta Superman, I mean ... nothin will harm him in an MK way I really can't wait to see an explaination to that one

Secondly, if Mortal Kombat has the fatalities ... (assuming that they're still going to be incorporated into the game) then what are the DC Characters gonna have, I admit I'm not fucked either way whether fatalities are there cause the game looks epic as it stands, for a fighting game, its looking like it'll rank pretty highly .. but still not be magnificent, but hey ... what game is ... other than the obvious ones, Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 ... o and GTA IV too ... prob the 3 best games ever ... but then, none of them are fighting ... Worlds Collide (the well thought up title for this beast) is ... and to be honest, I can see it giving Soul Calibur a run for its money

If I could be arsed to write more about this I really would, but for some reason, I've lost interest half way through writing it and I just wanna drink, so am gonna get a lager and then probably start blabbering bout something else

Habrán notado que últimamente han salido un montón de dichos y supuestas afirmaciones que en MKvsDC, la sangre y los fatalities serian sacados completamente de la saga, pues hoy se han mostrado declaraciones del mismo Ed Boon diciendo que no es tan así como lo pintan y que todo lo que a salido hasta ahora son solo supocisiones y la verdad es que ellos mas que nada quieren cambiar la forma de entregar los fatalities y movimientos finales en el juego....

Aquí va la entrevista hecha por GameTap:

GameTap: Speaking of subtleties, fatalities and Mortal Kombat have always been part of the same equation. With the recent revealing at Midway’s event in Las Vegas, now it seems that fatalities are being eliminated. How do you expect fans to react to what is considerably a major alteration to the series?

Ed Boon: I guess that’s my favorite part of the reaction–your exact sentence, which is, “it looks like fatalities will be gone.” There was never any statement on our part that fatalities will be gone or that finishing moves will be gone. We did acknowledge that we won’t be able to do the same kinds of outrageous moves, like tearing someone’s head off and the spine being attached to it. But there are a lot of assumptions that there will be no blood in the game, that there are no fatalities in the game. It’s an assumption that, because the DC characters will be in there, those features will have to be dropped. My response is that, no, we’re modifying fatalities. But I have every intention to keep finishers. You know, to let gamers do a really cool secret button combination and follow with a really outrageous finishing move to end the match. The names of these moves, and the level of violence we use, are to be determined. But it’s certainly not a feature we plan on eliminating from the series.

GameTap: OK, so there will be fatalities and blood, but they just won’t be as violent as in the past.

Ed Boon: Yes. I certainly can’t speak with authority as to what DC will permit. There will certainly be some limitations. But my intention is that we want to push the envelope of a T-rated game as far as we can without being an M-rated game.

Sin duda alguna esto apaciguara a los fanáticos que creían de alguna manera u otra que esas opciones serian arrancadas del juego, aunque personalmente prefiero esperar hasta que ya tengan algo concreto, porque desde la salida de MK5 que este tipo y su equipo me vienen defraudando de lo lindo.

It turns out the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) creators at Rockstar Games simply are not interested in turning their signature series into a movie. Rockstar cofounder Dan Houser gave Variety an extended interview that touched on a slew of topics, including the noticeable absence of a cinematic GTA adaptation. This comes after Eminem had agreed to play star role in a GTA movie project last year; the project has been dropped.

Speaking of Gamer Movies.... Blizzard has apparently iced German film director Uwe Boll's interest in adopting the rights for a World of Warcraft film. Uwe told MTV "I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it."

German film director Uwe Boll has practically destroyed every video game based film he has earned the right and funding to including Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, and In the Name of the King (Dungeon Siege). Scheduled for release in 2008 include Far Cry, and Postal. Alread in pre-production for 2009 are Alone in the Dark II, Sabotage 1943, Zombie Massacre, and Bloodrayne 3. Boll will also be lucky to not be banned from American theaters after Memorial Day this year, due to the bold release of Postal.

Rockstar Games announced today the release dates for Midnight Club: Los Angeles on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as Midnight Club: LA Remix for the PlayStation Portable. All three versions of the game will arrive in North American stores on September 9, with European releases scheduled for September 12.

Se trata de MK VS DC. Ellos dicen que una "fuente dentro de Midway" les entregó esta imagen. 

¿Se acuerdan de Marvel VS Capcom? OK, pues como bien dicen, la historia se repite, es un ciclo interminable. Déjà vu...

Por otro lado, Kotaku dice que se puso en contacto con un ex-empleado de Midway que les dijo que trabajó en el desarrollo de este juego y les confirmó que NO tendrá fatalities ni excesiva sangre... mmm... ¿se imaginan decapitar a Batman o a Superman? Ni modo, este Mortal Kombat será muuuy diferente a los demás. Seguiremos informando. 

O site do jogo WorldsCollide foi atualizado, dessa vez com um video que mostra o Noob Saibot caindo pau com o Batman e um papel de parede que mostra os mesmo personagens face to face!

Não podemos ver muita coisa, mas tirem suas conclusões!!
