Rating: 9 Out of 10

Ninja Gaiden is a great action adventure game that has you play as a ninja trying to stop evil forces. This game has great graphics and audio. The controls are also amazing. It also has the classic Ninja Gaiden games and cool unlockables. Not to mention downloadable content. Even though this game is extremely cool, it is extremely hard, for me at least. Also it is hard to find every single secret in the game. Overall, if you like a challenge then check this one out.

[caption id="attachment_295" align="alignnone" width="425" caption="ME DÀ!!!!!"][/caption]

Eu sou fanboy,ok?

We just got sent a very juicy tip of the big kind.

Not megaton kind but still big enough none the less.

It's been circulating for a while but GOONL!NE has been told that at Microsoft's keynote at the Tokyo Games Show tomorrow morning, it will be announced that the creator of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive Tomonobu Itagaki will join Microsoft Game Studios.

It comes after Itagaki resigned/got fired from Tecmo due to unpaid bonuses during development of Dead or Alive 4 for the Xbox 360 as well as suing his former employers too in the process.

It also comes after MGS added 4 new staff for Halo projects including Ryan Payton, Corrinne Yu, Kenneth Scott and Frankie O'Connor but Itagaki will be working on his own projects however and is also set to have his own studio to work on games for the Xbox 360.

If this turns out to be true, it'll be a very big coup for MGS. Already, they have Hironobu Sakaguichi as their biggest Japanese developer and this could very well coincide with Microsoft's plans for Japan.

We shall wait and see in about 14 hours time.

I talked about difficulty in games before, with a bit of a philosophical approach. Today I was reading my favorite blog, Kotaku, and found this short article: Tough Video Games and Why They're Played, which is in turn about another article. Basically it says that hard games are fun because of how great it feels when you finally do succeed. I think that's the best basic summation of it. You can go into much more depth, analyzing this and that and being philosophical, but the core mundane part of it is just that, as is said in that article, every little accomplishment means that much more when you really have to work for it.

And really, that is the same reason boss fights are fun and so exciting. With boss fights at least, you may have challenges along the way, but that final fight is the pinnacle of difficulty, the ultimate test. You've gone through a lot to get to that point, and how underwhelming would it be if all you were faced with was another minion? But I'm veering off course now. =P

Anyway, I don't think a brutal game always equates to fun, but hard games do have their place. Sometimes we just want a challenge. Other times we just want to relax. Variety is good. And heck, I'm sure some of us even find those torturously hard games to be relaxing...somehow. 0.o

One of the cool things about the last weekend was that Serg brought his Xbox 360 with him. Great chance to get a sneak peek at some other cool games, while I'm still caught in my Drakensang quest! So here we go...

The game I was anticipating the most, but also the one to really disappoint me. Where are all those cool single-player modes?! Where is the screen where you could easily pick your weapon of choice? Why the awful inclusion of Yoda and the Apprentice in the cutscenes and story mode? Why those sucky new instant-death finishers? Why is cute Hilde so damn useless? And why doesn't it feel new at all?

Well, that's at least what rescues SoulCalibur IV: the gameplay is still fine - especially against your buddies -, the graphics are brilliant, Algol rocks, and Yoda cannot be thrown, but overall, the game feels exactly like its predecessor - only without all the cool stuff that gave SC III so much single-player motivation. ★★★★ of 5

Virtua Tennis 3 was also a lot of fun, especially Dave and Eule enjoyed it for quite some hours. I like its presentation, the easy but also tricky controls, its license (no good playing tennis with some unkownsters), and its party compatibility. Tennis, however, is simply not the sport to keep my interest up for more than ten minutes. ★★★★ of 5

Another game destroyed my enthusiasm way more than any Virtua Tennis ever could, and that was Burnout Paradise. Why...I mean, really, why the hell have they included an open world map to roam around in a Burnout game?! Open worlds didn't do any good to the Need for Speed series, and Burnout's nature of quick, over-the-top snack-driving simply doesn't fit to open worlds at all.

Why can't you just click on this one cool crash track and compete with your friends about the most damage done anymore? Basically, Burnout Paradise is all its predecessors were, even faster and more beautiful, but so much more inconvenient. ★★★ of 5

Now, this one rocked! Ninja Gaiden II, possibly the hardest game on any next generation console I've seen so far, really exceeded my expectations. So much gore and action, so many gruesome and huge bosses, cool weapons, and atmosphere! Only the sometimes truly awful camera movements and the repetitive nature of the many, many random fights may steal some fun in the long run.

Of course, you can seldom go wrong with this kind of genre, as it's almost been developed to perfection. And Ninja Gaiden II makes no exception there; it is a worthy successor of all its many famous prequels, dating back to the age of Arcade and the NES. Still being able to maintain a unique feel and featuring an outstanding level of difficulty, Ninja Gaiden II truly deserves its ★★★★ of 5

Sounds like I didn't really have much fun with all those games, huh? But hey, I had! And I wish I'd seen more of each one. But as always, Pro Evo 2008 was the dominating factor in our nocturnal sessions once again! =)

Rating: 8.5 Out of 10

Ninja Gaiden finally makes a return in this nice sequel. This game has everything that the previous one had, with the exception of the very hard difficulty. (I am okay with that =P) Anyways, the game has great graphics and audio with very intense action, some great new weapons, awesome cutscenes, and some really cool finishing moves. However, the environments don't look that good, the camera can be sometimes a pain in the butt, and sometimes the level of difficulty varies per area and group of people you face. Overall, if you liked the first Ninja Gaiden, you will probably like the second one as well. Give it a try if you are up for a challenge.

Pros:

+ Slick, gruesome action is flashy and intense

+ Finishing moves are fun to perform and awesome to behold

+ Some great new weapons

+ Excellent, dramatic cutscenes

Cons:

- Inconsistent level of difficulty sometimes crosses the line into cheap territory

- Infuriating camera

- Environments don't look that good

There have been plenty of useless weapons throughout video game history. That one gun that you never use or that one item you never get rid of, because you think if everything else breaks you may need. here are in my opinion the worst weapons in video game history.

8. THE GREAT KNIFE - SILENT HILL 2

The Great Knife was actually a cool weapon to own in theory, but when it came down to using the beastly blade it was not all it was cut out to be. It was so big and heavy you literally had to drag it behind you. Slowing your characters movement down to the pace of a 90 year old with a bum leg. When you actually swung it it also was a hassle because by the time the blade was coming down the monster had either already attacked you or was far out of the way. Overall it was a weapon lacking so severally in speed it was nearly unusable.

7. WOODEN SWORD - NINJA GAIDEN

No i know a lot of you are probably saying "It gets better once you upgrade." I realize that, but the fact of the matter is without upgrades this is a useless weapon. I believe it took about eight upgrades for this weapon to take it's "true form" and about million credits later you were kicking ass with one of the best weapons in the game. I found this completely not worth the effort. I was too busy upgrading my GOOD weapons to dream about what it would be like to finish someone off with a slice from my super duper upgraded wooden blade.

6. BRASS KNUCKLES - DOOM

I can't really see why anyone would use these at all. As long as you aren't a complete n00b to the series you know that you can get the chainsaw and hack an slash your worries away. In DOOM 2 however Beserker Mode was added to the equation and they were once again useful to punch completely through enemies.

5. MAGSEC 4 - PERFECT DARK 64

The Magsec 4 was to be the token gun of the series, too bad it sucks. Really, all it was, was a glorified standard pistol except it had a secondary mode where it could shoot a three round burst. On its own with out the secondary mode enabled it was a little light on the damage, but nothing to complain about. Once you turned that that three round burst on however, it was like your hand spasmed with every pull of the trigger. You could also dual wield this pistol giving you about another 2% chance of actually hitting someone. The gun was inaccurate is really the point i am trying to get across here.

4.THE NEEDLER - HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED

The Needler has gone through a lot of changes throughout the Halo series not only cosmetic but also in function. In Halo the needles shot from the gun were painfully slow and often would not reach their target on time to kill the target they were after. They seemed to think that they fixed this problem in Halo 2 by simply making you able to carry more of them. That didn't seem to completely solve the problem. Finally in Halo 3 they pumped up the power and speed of the pink shooter and allowed you to once again only hold one at a time. Definitely a fun gun to use, but not always the most effective.

3. MOST OF THE WEAPONS - DEAD RISING

I love this game but, anyone who has played it will agree that there are a lot of very useless and overall bad weapons in this game. Weapons like the Toy Sword, water gun, teddy bears, well pretty much anything you can get from the toy store in the game. Then there is the option of throwing food, while it is funny to see a zombie walking around with cream pie on their face, it's not all that useful as a weapon. I was going to add in here the fact that you can spit on zombies, but then I remembered the concoction you can make that allows you to spit fire. You can pretty much get through this game using nothing but the car in the underground parking lot and keep leaving so another will spawn.

2. SMOKE BOMB - SUPER SMASH BROS: BRAWL

Seriously...WTF

1.THE KLOBB - GOLDENEYE 64

Anyone who has played Goldeneye 64 (and i am assuming all of you have) will know why this is number one. by far this has gotta be the most inaccurate gun in video game history. When you play Goldeneye people will go to great lengths not to use this weapon. they will use any pistol any grenade and karate chop they have before having to degrade themselves to this abomination of a weapon. Now maybe that is just my opinion and I may get hate mail from the Klobb Fan Club, but I know I am not alone on this one.

Tales of Hearts Screens

The next Tales of, set to come out on the Nintendo DS, will be released on December 11 in Japan. An interesting aspect of the game is that it will be available in two different versions. One will have CG cinematics like many RPGs since Final Fantasy VII came out, the other will stay true to the series and feature anime cutscenes.

Tecmo Blows Square-Enix Off, Tangos with Koei

Last week Square-Enix made a $200M bid for Tecmo (Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive...) with a September 4 deadline. Yesterday Tecmo rejected the RPG giant's offer and announced it was in talks with Koei (Dinasty Warriors, Kessen...).
No financial details of the potential merger were published yet.

Far Cry 2 Collector Details

The very nice edition will feature a 'making of' DVD, an art book, a map of the game world and a limited edition T-shirt. all this wrapped up in a nice wooden box.
The game is coming out on October 21 in North America and October 24 in Europe.

Dead Space Ban Trifecta

The upcoming Electronic Arts space shooter has been banned in Germany, China and Japan according to EA community manager Ben Swanson. While China is expected and Germany has had some recent mayhem surrounding video game ratings, Japan is outright suprising and not understandable.
Why the country that has created Resident Evil, Fatal Frame and Silent Hill is banning an FPS is beyond me.

Disgaea Spin-Off on PSP

Set for release on November 20 in Japan Prinny: Ore ga Shyujinkou de Iinsuka will be a side-scrolling platformer based in the famous world of the Nippon Ichi franchise. In it you will play as one of the famous penguins from the series which will be on a quest for Etna's sweets which have been stolen, lest he faces her wrath!
Let's hope this sees an American release. Check out the trailer here.

Pernah mendengar kata Hayabusa?

Pernah mendengar kata Hayabusa?

Tampilan sinematik Ninja Gaiden versi 'jadoel'

Sekitar 2 tahun setelah rilis game pertamanya, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos melanjutkan kisah yang terjadi satu tahun setelah game sebelumnya dimana Ryu harus menghadapi maksud jahat dari Ashtar “The Emperor of Darkness” yang ingin membuka gerbang Realm of Chaos.

Cartridge NES Ninja Gaiden II... Ada yang masih punya?

Setelah The Dark Sword of Chaos, petualangan Ryu kembali berlanjut di Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom pada tahun 1991.

Kemasan SNES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy

Ryu Hayabusa is back on Xbox!!

Tampilan Ryu Hayabusa versi NDS

Ninja Gaiden II... Please don't try this scene at home... Or anywhere else...

Well...

The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Resultado? Um dos jogos mais importantes da história: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, ainda tido por alguns como o melhor da série e possivalmente nas listas de jogos favoritos de muita gente. Migração mais do que bem sucedida.

Ninja Gaiden

Grand Theft Auto (GTA)

Prince of Persia

At Xbox Japan's Fall Press Conference today, they unveiled their new "cinematic action" game, Ninja Blade. With Itagaki-san leaving Tecmo, Microsoft realized they were short one ninja game. Developer From Software, creators of the Armored Core series, should make an easy transition from third-person shooter, to third-person slicer. The debut teaser trailer shows a ninja descending from an aircraft into Tokyo. Meanwhile, the Ryu Hayabusa wannabe is filleting winged demon monsters. With such little shown of the game, I'm wondering how it will differ from the Ninja Gaiden games.

The juicy “Gearbox is developing Halo 4 OMG” rumor continues to be at the top of fanboy

The juicy "Gearbox is developing Halo 4 OMG" rumor continues to be at the top of fanboy debate lists, with Microsoft confirming to Kotaku that Corrinne Yu, director of technology at Gearbox and pictured in full Spartan armor, has been hired as principle engine architect (fancy!) for the Xbox manufacturer's internal Halo team. The official statement: "As the Halo franchise continues to flourish, Microsoft Game Studios is growing its internal team to develop future Halo projects." And what could "future Halo projects" entail? Microsoft isn't blabbing, but suspicious men in trenchcoats posit that Yu will be working on the nebulous Peter Jackson project and putting her Unreal Engine 3 expertise to good use.

Less than 24 hours after it made headlines for selling over 1 million copies of Ninja Gaiden II, Tecmo is making news again. This morning, role-playing game giant Square Enix (Final Fantasy XIII) announced it was making an unsolicited but nonhostile bid for the Dead or Alive 4 publisher. In a statement, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada presented the offer as an attempt to rescue Tecmo. In the span of two months, the publisher has been rocked by a declining stock price, class-action lawsuits, and the departure of and legal action by star designer Tomonobu Itagaki. Just last week, Tecmo president Yoshimi Yasuda abruptly stepped down, citing personal reasons. "Tecmo is a group of excellent creators with a proven track record in the global market, which is a precious human resource of Japan," explained Wada. "We, however, cannot be optimistic about the future of this significant resource, given the current circumstances surrounding Tecmo. We believe that Tecmo will be able to make a great leap forward by joining Square Enix Group, which will provide the group with further growth opportunities as well." Though Tecmo has not yet publicly commented on Square Enix's offer, it is likely tempting to many shareholders. The ¥920 ($8.46) per share offer is a 30 percent premium on Tecmo's ¥706 ($6.49) closing price on Thursday. The Bloomberg news service values the entire bid at 22.3 billion yen ($205 million). As a result of the offer, Tecmo stock shot up 14 percent to close ¥806 ($7.41) per share today, with Square Enix's stock rising 2.6 percent to ¥3,610 ($33.20). While generous, Square-Enix's self-described "friendly takeover bid" (TOB) is very time-sensitive, expiring on September 4--next Thursday. Wada's statement ended with "If [Square Enix] should, by the deadline, receive no response from Tecmo, or fail to obtain consent by the board of directors of Tecmo to the TOB, the company will withdraw the proposal, and will NOT acquire the Tecmo shares through the TOB as planned in the proposal."
Square Enix announced this morning that they have bought over 30% of shares of currently troubled Japanese developer, Tecmo.

The developer behind the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive has been through rough times recently with it's most notable developer in the company Tomonobu Itagaki, behind both the NG and DOA series, being fired with Tecmo's president Yoshimi Yasuda resigning last week.

It was reported this morning on Kotaku that SE were planning a friendly takeover of Tecmo but in a press release shortly after, it was announced that it was awaiting approval by Tecmo's Board of Directors by September 4th (Thats next Thursday)

In a press confernece afterwards, the president of Square Enix Yoichi Wada said on it:
