Spyware Terminator - Best Free Spyware/Malware Protection

Having tested virtually all of the major anti-spyware applications over the past year or more, I’ve settled, for now, on Spyware Terminator primarily due to its strong real-time protection against spyware, adware, Trojans, key-loggers, home page hijackers and other malware threats.

In addition to Spyware Terminator, my home system is running: Zone Alarm (Firewall), WinPatrol (System Monitor), Avira AntiVir Personal, ThreatFire 3 (Blocks zero-day attacks heuristically), SnoopFree Privacy Shield (Anti-keylogger). This is my minimum safety configuration; depending on circumstances, in addition, I will also use Sandboxie (a free sand box application).

A simple to use interface makes this program easy to setup, customize and run, for both less experienced and expert users alike.

Spyware Terminator excels in strong active protection against know and unknown threats. If anything, I find it perhaps a little overly aggressive. On the other hand, better this than the alternative.

The program rates very highly in offering protection against spyware, adware, Trojans, key-loggers, home page hijackers and other malware threats. The scan behavior can be customized based on your level of experience; ranging from automatic interception for the less experienced user, to potential threat control for the more experienced user.

A definite plus is the program’s ability to schedule spyware scans on a daily or a weekly basis to ensure your computer’s continuing integrity. When set to download updates automatically, Spyware Terminator will check for, download and install new updates, keeping all files current with minimal user input. Optionally, you can choose to update manually.

Included with Spyware Terminator is Open Source ClamWin anti-virus, a reasonably effective anti-virus solution. My personal choice however, has been to disengage this side of the package and to run Avira AntiVir Personal instead.

In the time I have been using Spyware Terminator as my principal line of spyware protection, I have not had to deal with a single instance of spyware infection. This application does what it says it will do in an efficient and effective manner.

XP Antivirus 08. Don't fret, there's a way.

I was happily browsing the Internet this morning when suddenly the XP Antivirus 08 infiltrated my system. It is one of the newest counterfeit anti-spywares that come up when you install a video codec that has Trojan, malware or virus. It cannot be uninstalled through the Add/Remove program and it will continue to pop up with a summary of spywares that have infected your PC. It will then prompt you to buy the full version of the "anti-spyware".

I got rid of it using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Just download, install, scan, restart, and your PC should be fine. Also try to install SpywareBlaster as added protection. Being proactive will save you a lot of time and money.

Edit: A lot of people have been viewing this post. Wondering if this process worked for them, too, or not. Anyways, I hope it did.

So, at the moment I feel as though everyone is getting tired of me, or well except a few, and if so I get it, I totally get it. I even think my own mother is, which I think is pretty sad, pathetic almost. But as it seems, it might just be me, or maybe I just need a void to be filled I need someone to be there.

Well with that, I'm waiting for Gretchen to tell me when the painting can begin, and I haven't seemed to hang out or chill with her so that day will soon come.

Oh and I learned something new, if you put Styrofoam in acetone it melts like butter, or well seems to disappear completely, it's like magic. [acetone is in nail polish remover if you wanted to try it]

&&& Today I herd about that whole Youtube/Google/Viacom court thing with a federal court judge demanding Google to hand over all Youtube user names, ip addresses, and other private information which should only be kept to the person, about video views and copyright infringements violations. I personally think it's total bull, not that myself has done anything I am not worried about, but with that they could undoubtedly charged every single person who violates any of the upload terms, I just have no words to describe how ridiculous this is and for what I might ask, for what!?

Hmm... as for today, or this morning, I have nothing else to say or somewhat express in writings for the time being so yeah.

Oh oh oh! and i guess Happy 4th of July.

Diga Adeus aos Malwares com o Malwarebyte´s

Segundo a Wikipedia.org Malware é ...."O termo malware é proveniente do inglês malicious software; é um software destinado a se infiltrar em um sistema de computador alheio de forma ilícita, com o intuito de causar algum dano ou roubo de informações (confidenciais ou não). Vírus de computador, trojan horses (cavalos de tróia) e spywares são considerados malware. Também pode ser considerada malware uma aplicação legal que por uma falha de programação (intencional ou não) execute funções que se enquadrem na definição supra citada."

Apesar de ter um bom anti virus, um bom anti spyware e um firewall, sabe-se lá ~~(deve ter sido baixando música)~~ como fui infectado por um malware. Tentei remover o infeliz de diversas maneiras, até que conheci o Malwarebyte´s.

O software é Free, existe uma versão paga também, porém a gratuita já me ajudou e muito.

It’s not very often that I forget about security protection software installed on my computer. But I must admit to having forgotten about the fact, that for years, I have had SpywareBlaster installed on my system.

I allow myself to feel better about this when I consider that unlike other security programs SpywareBlaster, once installed, does not run in the background and continues to provide protection without the need for user interaction.

SpywareBlaster prevents ActiveX-based spyware, adware, dialers, and browser hijackers from installing on your system by disabling the CLSIDs (a system used by software applications to identify a file or other item), of spyware ActiveX controls. A secondary but equally important function offered by SpywareBlaster, is its ability to block spyware/tracking cookies and restrict the actions of spyware/adware/tracking sites in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Seamonkey, Flock and other browsers.

Since SpywareBlaster doesn't scan for or clean spyware, but as stated earlier, prevents installation only, you should use it in combination with Spybot Search & Destroy and/or Ad-Aware, in addition to your normal anti-malware security applications to gain the maximum amount of protection.

Hard as it may be to believe, there are some beauty essentials which I really don't want to splurge on. One of these is nail varnish remover. All I need is something that will wipe my polish away from my finger nails, no muss, no fuss.

Honestly, I don't believe in all of this nutritive remover nonsense. Varnish remover will never be good for your finger nails, so get over it. Not to mention these gentler removers take forever to actually do their job. I would rather use a harsh product to sweep away colour in one swift step than spend ten minutes trying to work the product off. My favourite is Boots Nail Polish Remover, it does what it says on the tin and it is cheap as chips. The pads are pretty nifty too.

"Implementando" falsas creencias sobre el idioma

Algo bastante habitual en la blogocosa es que te aseguren en un comentario que una palabra es incorrecta, aunque sea perfectamente válida. Suele ocurrir simplemente porque no estamos acostumbrados a oírla y extrapolamos a que "no existe" o es un barbarismo. Ya comenté un caso así con la palaba remover, muy usada en informática --por to remove-- entonces muchos piensan que es un anglicismo (en realidad derivada del latín removēre).

Pero no es sólo vicio de lo blogocosa, también de los "catedráticos de la lengua". Hoy metió la mata Javier Marías --recién nombrado miembro de la RAE-- en un artículo en EPS con otra palabra muy usada en informática:

Lo que echa a perder la lengua es [...] O que suelen implementar...

Si embargo haciendo una visita rápida al buscador del DRAE sale lo siguiente:

implementar.

1. tr. Poner en funcionamiento, aplicar métodos, medidas, etc., para llevar algo a cabo.

Lo que es una pena que hasta los "catedráticos de la lengua" sigan insistiendo en no aceptar la riqueza del vocabulario y en propagar falsas leyendas sobre presuntos barbarismos que en realidad son palabras que su propia academia incorporó al diccionario hace tiempo.

Por lo demás el artículo está muy bien y me gustó. Pero me llamó la atención lo de implementar, parece que por el hecho de "sonar a informática" asumimos [*] por defecto que es un barbarismo. Así nos va. O quizás es que ser un talibán del DRAE es una tarea cada vez más ingrata.

[*] Recuerdo que en la lectura de mi tesis doctoral la crítica más dura e importante --creo que la única, han pasado casi ocho años-- que me hizo el presidente del tribunal fue que usé varias veces la palabra asumir asegurando que era un anglicismo mal usado de to assume (la memoria estaba escrita en inglés). Decía que aunque técnicamente no era relevante, sí lo era para respetar una lengua que él también amaba. Cuántos amores :-)

Limpia tu navegador Internet Explorer de troyanos

No uses Internet Explorer nunca para navegar. Teneis navegadores mucho mejores (de los que ya hablaré) , mi favorito es Firefox.

Pero tampoco desinstaleis IE de vuestro sistema. ¿Por qué? Porque sino, no podreis actualizar Windows cuando saque parches. (Aunque si lees el artículo de WinUp que hice, podreis bajaros todos los parches sin necesidad de IE ni Windows con Licencia y actualizar offline - sin estar conectado - vuestro sistema operativo Windows XP).

Ya que no podeis desinstalar IE, sí que teneis que tenerlo limpio de virus, troyanos, etc..

IE es un coladero para estos temas.

Con CoolWebSearch Trojan Remover (resumo a CWS), un programa gratuito y escaso peso, podemos evitar que se nos llene el PC de troyanos.

Con sólo ejecutarlo aprentado "FIX", el programa escaneará IE:

en busca de virus/troyanos/adware
en busca de redirecciones provocadas por troyanos, spyware, adware y malware dentro de IE
corregirá el ralentizamiento de IE y su consumo de memoria
evitará que se cambie nuestra pagina de inicio y pop-ups maliciosos
escanea y corrige los archivos win.ini y iedll.exe

En cada opción del resultado tiene que aparecer "Not Present" o "Not Infected", sino el programa se encargará de solucionarlos.

En fin, que es indispensable pasarlo al menos una vez.

Membocorkan Bocoran UN 2008- 2009: Sebuah Skenario Besar

“Mas, UN itu sudah bukan bocor lagi. Tapi banjir.”

Di Bandung, beredar sms kunci jawaban UN 2008. Persis seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Di Jawa Tengah ada berita bahwa jumlah lembar soal kurang. Sehingga harus mem-foto copy dulu.

“Kok bisa lembar soal kurang. Apakah ada yang hilang? Jika hilang ke mana perginya?”

HP beberapa siswa di Solo disita oleh pengawas independent karena menerima SMS bocoran kunci jawaban. Masih banyak lagi cerita duka tentang UN 2008.

Bagaimana dengan pengalaman UN 2008 Anda?

Saya sendiri tetap mengusulkan kepada Diknas (pemerintah) agar membocorkan UN secara resmi. Saya menyebut bocoran ini sebagai bocoran cerdik. Jika tahun ini belum ada bocoran cerdik, pemerintah dapat memulainya dari tahun 2009. (Siswa yang sekarang duduk di kelas 2 bersiaplah!)

Saya mengusulkan skenario besar bocoran cerdik UN 2008-2009 sebagai berikut:

1. Pada tahun ajaran baru, bulan Juli atau Agustus 2008, Diknas mengeluarkan bocoran cerdik versi 1. Bocoran ini berisi soal-soal yang akan keluar dalam UN 2009. Tanpa pilihan jawaban A, B, C, D, atau E. Banyaknya soal yang dibocorkan adalah 100 kali lebih banyak dari soal UN 2009 yang sebenarnya.

Misalnya, matematika ada 40 soal dalam UN 2009 maka bocorkan 4000 soal matematika. Di antara 4000 soal ini akan keluar 40 soal untuk UN 2009. Siswa dapat belajar fokus pada latihan soal ini. Guru di sekolah juga dapat membahas bocoran cerdik ini sebagai salah satu soal latihan sesuai dengan materi ajar. Agar lebih netral, bocoran cerdik ini jangan kita sebut sebagai bocoran. Tetapi kita sebut saja sebagai Fokus 100. Lebih keren kan?

2. Memasuki semester II, awal Januari 2009, Diknas mengeluarkan bocoran cerdik versi 2. Bocoran ini lebih fokus dari versi 1. Versi 2 berisi soal-soal UN 2009 yang jumlahnya 10 kali lebih banyak dari soal UN 2009 yang sebenarnya.

Misalnya matematika 40 dalam UN 2009 maka versi 2 memberikan 400 soal matematika. 400 soal ini diambil dari 4000 soal yang sudah termuat dalam versi 1 (Fokus 100). Jadi siswa dapat lebih fokus dalam belajar dalam mempersiapkan UN. Kita sebut saja bocoran ini sebagai Fokus 10.

3. Sebulan menjelang UN 2009, bulan Maret 2009, Diknas mengeluarkan bocoran cerdik versi 3. Bocoran versi 3 ini berisi soal-soal UN 2009 sebanyak 5 kali dari soal UN 2009 sebenarnya. Kita sebut sebagai Fokus 5. Siswa dapat belajar lebih fokus lagi. Semua soal hanya soal. Tanpa pilihan jawaban A, B, C, D, atau E.

Dengan skenario bocoran cerdik di atas, kita berharap dapat mengurangi potensi kecurangan-kecurangan dalam penyelenggaraan UN. Cegah kecurangan, tumbuhkan kecerdikan.
