Well looks like our favorite b-superhero Ska-New Wave band has been ironically animated! It's silly, campy, over the top and the shots remind me of a better drawn, but no less odd Voltron. Rather good modern animation with a retro sensibility. I Declare Win and Cake.

If zombies retain any memory of their living states, I'd bet it's going to be the visceral things, the smell of blood, the taste of brains, and the craving for Acoustic Downtempo Progressive Rock.

Yet another wonderful chapter of Mistress Fortune. I'm posting about it late again, but this time my fangirl excitement is still fresh. Because I just read the translation yesterday. With many thanks to chiibi for that by the way. Wonderful scanlation again~!

But moving on...this month there was a side story for Mistress Fortune in Summer Ribon Special. It came out on the eighteenth and aside from the news here, I don't know anything about it yet. I don't have anywhere I can buy it right now, so I'll have to rely on some kind soul buying it and scanning it for the rest of us. And of course, I'm almost completely useless without translations too. But...heh, I'll blog about it if I get the chance.

Summary

Before the manga even came out we got a little peek at what would be happening in this chapter on Arina Tanemura's radio show. Which I haven't really been keeping up with by the way. *fails as an Arinachi fan*

Basically, what we got as a peek was what you learn in the first few pages. Kisa-chan went on a diet, which upsets Gin-kun because her boobs will get smaller (lol).

Ultimately, it causes a petty little fight between the two of them. And as a sidenote, the ebe from the last chapter has been named Ebeko (and the most awesome joke follows it) and is working with them now.

Eventually Gin-kun and Kisa-chan get trapped together so they make up. Then some serious character development happens and I'll leave it at that. Then there's also some less-serious character development that is ROFL-worthy.

And...it ends with a really big cliff-hanger. As was expected since the series is only three chapters long.

Thoughts

The last chapter was cute and so much fun. This one was even better~! Because we're all familiar with Kisa-chan and Gin-kun now, everything from them is already like an inside joke.

And my god. The best inside joke ever is in this chapter too. It seems Arina-sensei knows what we've all been saying about her character names for so long...

Kisa-chan with pigtails! Cute~! I forget if she ever showed up with pigtails in the last one, but even if she did, I did't go on enough about it. Because it's only for the one page and it still left such an impression on me. Way too cute! Especially with her cute little frown too!

Gin-kun is so serious about his perviness that it's just absolutely adorable. He gets depressed just because he thinks Kisa-chan's cup size might go down. In real life I'd probably smack a guy to the ground for being like that, but Gin-kun is just so cutely innocent about it. I'm almost on his side.

Gin-kun kind of deserved it this time. It gets explained later on, but he said it in such an insensitive way. He deserved to get blasted by Kisa-chan this time.

And I love Kisa-chan's glare before she decides to blast Gin-kun. Absolutely great. He knew what was coming...

This is the joke I was talking about, with "Meroko" and "Maron" I really burst out into laughter...especially because of the way Ebeko was sitting. lolz. I can list at least five other names Arina-sensei could have used in this part too. So many rare names.

I'm just going to say that Ebeko is the best mascot character in an Arina Tanemura series (Meroko and Ta-kun don't count). She's my third favorite character too. So devious~! And her mini-fight with Gin-kun was so entertaining.

Oh. Ebeko got Gin-kun good~! Poor Gin-kun...it's okay though. Things work out just fine for you later on. Almost too well actually...

And just a teeny bit more love for Ebeko now. *sigh* I wish there was a bigger possibility of this becoming an anime. Because as much as I laughed reading this, with the right seiyuu, I could laugh even more when watching an anime.

Come on! Someone! I don't care if you add tons of fillers! Because that's just fine anyway...please...I know it's incredibly unlikely, but do it anyway. I want to know what Ebeko's voice sounds like too. So at least a drama CD!

Awwww. I love it when a girl tugs on a boy's clothes. It's cute. Especially with Gin-kun's adorable blushing reaction. Tehe~!

"What would we do if we couldn't see each other...compared to that...something like mail addresses...are worthless things."

Gin-kun~! If you hadn't already earned my fangirl love, you certainly earned it with this scene. Way too sweet! And the way he seems so embarassed when he's saying it too! Kyaaa! I can still giggle just thinking about it.

Gin-kun's past caught me by surprise. I'd expect it in a longer Arina Tanemura series, but in this one it really caught me off-guard, especially with the way Gin-kun acts. So it pulled and extra, "Awww. You poor thing!" out of me.

I don't know anything about the side story, but now I'm wondering if it has something to do with Gin-kun's past. Since it really didn't get more than a page in this chapter of the manga.

After my, "Aww" sadness, I got picked right back up by Kisa-chan's incredibly inappropriate sympathizing. It worked, but only a girl like Kisa-chan could get away with comparing messing up rice with causing your house to collapse on your family. I guess it's her cute inappropriateness that cheered Gin-kun up.

Aww...more awws. The "be at your side" stuff was so cute. I really wish that this series was longer. Because Gin-kun and Kisa-chan are just so cute together. But I guess because it's so short is the reason why they get to be so cute together, huh? Not much time for drama, so it really all gets to be cute fluff...and I love it!

ROFL. He got a cheek grope by accident. I didn't know whether to feel embarrassed for Kisa-chan or happy for Gin-kun when this happened, so I just laughed.

I think this manga has more boob jokes than any other shoujo manga I've ever read. See shounen romance? You can have boob jokes just be cute and funny if you do it right!

lol at the blushing frog. I'd be embarassed too KeroKero-chan!

And after all of his talk about Kisa-chan's e-cups and his jealousy toward Ebeko, once it happens, he can't take it and he faints. He's such an innocent little perv. That's how I can still love him I guess!

That causes his beserk mode. Nice. I don't think Arina-sensei could have made this any more entertaining. I can still laugh about all of this even though I've already read the chapter five times. It's still funny. So ridiculously funny.

I love how cutely happy Gin-kun gets after he hears Kisa-chan is going to stop dieting. He looks so...proud of himself. And Kisa-chan's expression is just priceless too.

And Kisa-chan's "pervert extermination" afterwards was even more fun than usual.

The telepathy scene was so cute. More points for Gin-kun! It was just...so sweet. I love it. Smiling Gin-kun and smiling and blushing Kisa-chan. I couldn't help but smile~! They're almost there!

And to get them there...

Dramatic cliff-hanger! Dun Dun Dun!

This means we should get a kiss in the next chapter. Because it's the last chapter and because of Kisa-chan possibly going to America, there has to be a confession from either Gin-kun or Kisa-chan. The only question is...who? In a story like this one for Arina-sensei...when it's shorter, it's usually the girl. ION, Time Stranger Kyoko, in both of those the girl confessed first.

Personally I hope Gin-kun says it first. That would be cute~! But it'll be cute no matter what really.

Ah! And one last image that I had to post...

Agh! I don't think it's even possible for Kisa-chan to get any cuter. Look at her! So...cute~!

Summary

We get to find out just what happened on Sunday. Kei and Hikari went on a date and Hikari, dense as always, saw it as a challenge and tried to act like a cutesy shoujo manga girl on the date. After a while, she realizes that Kei is all tense and after he runs off she helps him beat up a bunch of people that are following him who work for his dad. After she and Kei get away, she starts crying because she didn't know anything was wrong.

Kei tells her that he was supposed to go to an omiai (arranged marriage meeting basically) that day. Hikari gets mad at him and tells him to go because it'll cause his dad trouble. Kei decides to go after that, but Hikari stops him suddenly, not sure of why herself.

But the answer as to why will have to wait because Kei's dad and his shota-voice comes in and ruins everything. Then the girl, Sakura, Kei was supposed to meet from the omiai comes around and basically kidnaps Hikari. But after a brief time together, Sakura and Hikari become fast friends. Sakura explains that Kei isn't really her type, but since there's no guy she likes, she's willing to marry Kei for her father's business. So she asks Hikari what type of girl Kei likes, so Hikari goes on a quest to find out.

Of course, once Hikari asks Kei the next day, he gets pissed and leaves. Since Kei refuses to tell her, Hikari decides to go around asking everyone else (it makes Akira cry when she asks her).

Hikari decides to challenge Kei to find out. Kei figures out that Sakura is the one who asked Hikari to find out. Then Kei says that it's weird that she's helping Sakura since she stopped him from going to the omiai meeting. And just when Kei has her trapped, Hikari says that she did it just to annoy him. But as she's running away she's blushing and thinking that she doesn't really know why.

Hikari meets up with Sakura agin and promises to find out again. Then Sakura, who goes to the same school as Yahiro, meets up with him and hears about Hikari and Kei's relationship. Hikari decides to challenge Kei again, but since it's useless Kei decides to just tell Hikari, that his type is a completely normal girl. Hikari asks why he told her so easily and he says it's because she'd be in trouble if she didn't know. Dokidoki moment ensues~!

Then Hikari is thinking later and Sakura comes out suddenly and tries to kick her. She thinks that Hikari lied to her about her relationship with Kei (rivals...) and is really mad. Hikari starts thinking about everything and decides to tell Sakura what Kei's type is, even though she doesn't want to, but she starts crying. So Sakura stops, and the awkard situation is stopped by Ryuu, Megumi, and Jun appearing.

Sakura turns all sparkly eyes when she looks at Jun, who matches her idea of a perfect boy (a prince) and an intense reaction ensues. She immediately goes for Jun, pissing Megumi off. Sakura doesn't care about Kei anymore because she found her prince.

Thoughts

I think this is the first time that I haven't minded when something I liked from the manga was cut out. It's either because I'm used to it, or this episode worked just fine without it.

Hmm...yeah, I really liked this episode. Not as much as episode 13, but...this is probably my second favorite. I'd say it's mostly because I am so pleased with Sakura. Oh Sakura~!

Just to get it out of the way though...what I wanted to see was the shoujo manga dress. Because it was fun seeing Hikari wearing something so girly, and having Kei tease her like that is always a plus too. But it's okay, there was nothing stupid or unnecessary added in this episode, so I can deal with it. And this episode was still plenty of fun without it.

Oh Hikari's and Kei's date was so much fun, despite how incredibly short it was. It ended up being like...two minutes, didn't it? Poor Kei...even though he'd waited so long.

But I just loved all of Kei's reactions to Hikari trying to act cute, especially when he just laughed at her "pretty talk" Ah...priceless.

Ah, and I enjoyed this scene too. We're really getting to the part of SA that I love. When Hikari's the one who usually gets all ticked off and flustered. And Kei just get to mess with her. Heh. Revenge!

Ha...more points for Kei. Once Kei decides to be all forward and stuff with Hikari, things go so much faster. I can finally forgive them for cutting out Hikari's blushing in previous episodes, because Hikari gets all confused and blushy about Kei in this episode anyway. Yes~!

It's strange that I didn't have this reaction when reading the manga, but when I saw this scene in the anime I went, "Ha! That's right bitch!" Because Hikari pissed me off when she told Kei that he should go to the omiai. I wanted to smack her. But it's okay, because revenge is coming! Ha!!!!

But I really enjoyed this scene~! Hikari and Kei~! It's just too bad it was completely shattered with Kei's dad shouting. THat was freakin' awful. The worst way to break up a fangirl moment. I hate you shota-voice.

Yeah!!! Sakura!!! I haven't been so pleased with a character in SA since Yahiro showed up (but we all know they messed with him as time went on). But Sakura is freakin' awesome! She was already one of my favorite characters, but now I love her even more!!!

They chose a really good seiyuu, Natsuko Kuwatani if wikipedia is right today. I don't really follow her, but once I looked her up, I definitely realized that I've liked every role she's been in. She's played Arf in Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, Ryoko Asakura in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, and Lutecia and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS.

And her character design is nice too. It took a while getting used to the pink hair. Her hair is pink in the manga, but you don't really see it that often...because it's in black and white.

And I can forgive Hikari for being dumb, because we feel the same way toward Sakura. Sakura~! I swear, she's really close to being on my top ten list. She's probably number twelve or something.

AH!!! And I love how quickly she can change her mood! Yet another awesome ojou-sama!!! She has three personalities and I love them all. Her nice, perfect ojou-sama side, her idiot with Hikari side, and her kick-ass evil aura side. Oh and there is one more, but we'll get to that later~!

Heh. Kei's pissed-off reactions to Hikari being stupid never cease to amuse me. They're always great.

Woo! I love this moment! Even more than the shirt-grabbing! You've got her right where you want her Kei! GO FOR IT!

Okay...for once I won't get pissed at Hikari, because that was pretty good. She managed to get out of that situation quite well. And I laughed quite a bit. But poor Kei...

It's okay though...he's already planning his next move.

lol, How come the more I watch this anime, the more it does seem like Kei and Hikari are rivals? Because in every time it seems like one of them wins or loses. Heh...and right now Hikari's been the one who's been losing. Heh.

That's right! You should blush you stupid girl! Ha! I'll enjoy this while I can because I still know what comes later (boooo).

It suddenly occured to me when watching this scene...I wonder if Sakura comes from a yakuza family or something. I know she doesn't...but how funny would that be? It's overused, but I still think it would be funny if we suddenly found that out.

Heh. They make a good set of friends. They're both so devious. I love it. I'm looking forward to the next episode because of this too. Hehehe.

Haaaa! Victory for Kei! At least temporarily! With how awesome Kei is with Hikari, I am incredibly disappointed in her for not having any real reaction until now. It's not fair!!! Stupid Hikari.

That's right...you should cry. But you know what's kind of frustrating? Even after crying and all those wonderful memories of Kei she still doesn't realize anything. Stupid girl. They better get to the good stuff from the manga though.

Yes! The extreme reaction! I was looking forward to this almost as much as all the Hikari and Kei moments. It was just perfect and it made me laugh even more than I did in the manga. Priceless. I love you Sakura! You and your prince fetish!

Preview

Well, this is the last couple the anime will be getting to. Sakura and Jun. No love for Ryuu or Megumi. But at least I still have the manga.

Too bad though, I really like Megumi's pairing (tehe~! It's a secret). But Sakura and Jun are good too, so I am satisfied.

And one more prince reaction for the road.

A lot of the next episode seems to be filler, but it doesn't seem like they're really taking anything out, so no complaints from me really. Hmm...but I wonder where they're going after episode 16. Episode 17 is called "Restraint and Smiling Face", but I can't really see how that goes along with chapter 24. Hmm...well I guess I'll find out next week.

I just found some good news. The stupidest of the Shugo Chara! fans are the ones I already think lack judgment (and therefore, I don't care about them). I got my first flame from a stupid Shugo Chara! fan. I was hoping my first flame might have been from one of the people I made fun of in my rant on the CR morons. Oh but this is much better.

It's a Tadase and Tadamu fan.

Unfortunately, because of this fan's amusing, but inappropriate dialogue. I don't want to approve their comment. I know a fan that is ten who watches Shugo Chara and comes to my blog. And despite the occasional f-word when I'm excited, I try to keep out the unnecessary swears. Also, as much as I knew as a child, I'd still have found this crude, and possibly upsetting. Though it's incredibly amusing to me now.

So before proceeding, here's a warning about improper language (and awful spelling and grammar too).

Now I got three of them. In both CCS and TRC (Sakura included in both pictures to further prove how this person knows nothing about cuteness). Personally I don't find Tadase cute at all (everything about him annoys me), but I'm sure plenty of people who do think Tadase is cute can offer up even more cuter boys.

And also, Ikuto is cuter that Tadase too. See? Kitty ears~! And Ikuto is even cuter as a little boy.

Moving on. My...such language. Judging by your grammar, I don't think you're old enough to be using such language missy. Shame shame. Also, to be serious for a moment, I'm sure that people who have AIDS are offended by what you said. Wishing it on someone else is horrible. Especially over something so trivial. You should be ashamed.

"Faking"? Is that because Ikuto supposedly doesn't like Amu or are you just misspelling "Fucking" I can't tell. I think you know how to spell fuck since you used it once already. But who really knows.

Yes...it was done incredibly quickly, since I couldn't really see the point. The transformation itself was already so gay that there was really no way to make it better. Besides, even looking at Tadase in that pose for ten minutes was too much for me. So that's it.

Basically, every so often people message me on other sites saying they don't want me to make fun of idiots (noobs) or Tadase. And I'm sick of it. Sorry. Can't help it. This is my blog, where I give my opinion of anime, and my opinion is that Tadase is...lame (and pretty awful). So, if you LOVE Tadase and think it's unfair that everyone hates him, go make your own blog. Have fun.

And I'll never understand why they all so take it so seriously. It feels stupid to me. It's not like Tadase is real. If he were, I know I wouldn't make so much fun of him in public. Therefore...this is stupid. And I think it's pretty sad that people have nothing better to do than flame all of us for just enjoying ourselves.

I don't really have a problem with Tadase fans. Just I've found that Tadamu fans in general are pretty dumb. I met one that wasn't. One. NagihikoxAmu fans are smart, so are Kamuri fans, some KukaixAmu fans get a little annoying sometimes, but really...Tadamu fans are mostly...awful. I'm sorry. Feel free to prove me wrong, but unless you admit, "I know they're a shallow couple, I just think Tadase is cute" I probably won't be able to take you seriously.

Really, anyone who's opinion I generally respect outside of Shugo Chara, also thinks Tadase is lame choice for Amu. I don't think it's a coincidence when I see crap like this. Please don't tell me that Tadamu fans are smart. I've seen more dumb ones than smart ones.
