An official guest list for Bohemian Grove's 2008 midsummer encampment along with a map of the Grove's facilities has been obtained by a San Francisco based action group who held protests and information drives outside the entrance to the elite summer retreat.

The list reveals that amongst the hundreds of corporate representatives, government officials and banking elites, guests also included former president George H.W. Bush, David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, as well as several former directors of the CIA, including James Woolsey.

The list was obtained by members of the group truthaction.org, a 9/11 truth organization who were present outside the secluded entrance to the Grove in Sonoma County for the duration of the two week event.

The activists spoke to employees coming and going from the Grove, as well as actual guests and Bohemian Club members, taking the opportunity to hand out 9/11 truth information packs.

A truthaction.org forum entry states:

This year, 9/11 truth activists have been a regular presence at the entrance to the Grove during the two week event, talking to many of the workers coming in and out and also to several of the campers. A number of workers have expressed profound gratitude for the presence and message of the activists and at least one elite camper displayed a seemingly genuine interest in the 9/11 truth materials he was given, stopping to talk for awhile and revealing that he was camping with a former CIA director before heading back into the Grove with his infopack.

Bohemian Grove is a 136-year-old all-male encampment complete with restaurants, bars, stages and lodges, which caters to around 2,000 members of the global elite along with Californian hoi polloi on a yearly basis in July. The camp is set within a 2,700 acre secluded forest replete with giant redwood trees.

In addition to the regulars mentioned above, former attendees include Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, who both went on to become President.

Bush Senior's camp group, is called the Hill Billies, which includes representatives from big business, banking, politics, universities and the media. Other camps include:

In 2000 radio host and film maker Alex Jones infiltrated the gathering and caught exclusive video footage of a bizarre mock human sacrifice ritual, known as “the cremation of care”, under a 40 foot stone owl that the members refer to as Molech.

Attendees dress up like Klan members in hooded robes and perform druidic pagan ceremonies to mark the spectacular finale of the event.

In 2004, The New York Post reported that top gay porn star Chad Savage was hired by the Grove to “service” its members during the event and “attend to their every need”.

“When they’re not listening to policy speeches, “Bohos” are known to urinate freely in the redwoods and perform mock-druidic rituals that revolve around a 40-foot-tall stone owl. In one ritual, called “Cremation of Care,” members wearing red-hooded robes cremate a coffin effigy of “Dull Care” at the base of the owl altar,” the report stated.

Homosexual orgies are known to be part of the festivities enjoyed by the predominately “Christian conservative” leaders who go there. Former attendee Richard Nixon once referred to the Grove as, “the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine.”

A reader who got a summer job working at the Grove in 2005, Chris Jones, told us that he was regularly propositioned for sex by the old men attending the encampment and asked if he “slept around” and wanted to have some fun.

Jones was later sentenced to three years in jail by California authorities for simply showing a tape of his visit to minors.

I was setting at home directing a porn flick when it hit me that I had not come up with any demotivational posters for a good while. I figured that the world has enough mule / girl porn, but demotivation needs to be constantly updated and fresh.

So here is a happy display of hate, lust, greed and even some poo for our devoted readers.

Son nouveau trip : les percussions humaines. Music Hole est une espèce de chorale organique où tout est permis pourvu qu'on utilise son corps. Torse, joues, dos de son partenaire, souffle et j'en passe. Autre nouveauté, Camille s'est mise à chanter en anglais. Volonté de dépasser les frontières ou simple lubie "parce que ça sonne mieux" ? Je ne sais pas et ce n'est vraiment primordial puisque les textes de morceaux de Music Hole doivent tenir tous respectivement sur une poignée de post-it (tentez de répéter le titre de la piste une centaine de fois de façon différente et vous écrirez certainement un morceau pour Camille) .

Bon j'ai l'air dur là, mais en fait non. Non seulement les textes n'ont jamais été une condition sine qua non de réussite d'un album, mais la voix est pour moi avant tout un instrument comme les autres qui a la lourde responsabilité de me séduire.

Camille a cette faculté de vous faire de l'oeil avec ses voix schizophrènes. Ca ne fonctionne pas à tous les coups (son "coin-coin les canards sauvages" me gave en moins de temps qu'il faut pour lire le titre), mais quand ca fonctionne, on part en voyage bien volontier avec elle (Kfir). Tout cela concernait essentiellement la forme, mais Music Hole c'est aussi un fond résolument différent du précédant Fil. Comme son jeu de mots, un peu foireux, l'indique, on ouvre avec Music Hole la porte d'un cabaret sauvage où l'on croise chats et chiens autour du piano (cf. le très bon Cats & Dogs), une diva saoûle délurée qui oscille entre vocalises sauvageonnes (The Monk) et scat (toujours cf. Cats & Dogs).
Parmis les autres titres, Money Note propose un très bon morceau de dance organique,  Winter's Child part dans trip peu irish. Bref il y a de la couleur dans Music Hole.

Vu d'ici le tableau peut effrayer, c'est probable. Intriguer c'est certain. En concert, tous les doutes s'envolent. On commence discrètement par dodeliner du chef comme un pigeon, on tape du pied de plus en plus fermement et à coup sûr on finit par sauter frénétiquement sur place en cadence avec les boîtes à rythmes humaines...

PS : Cette nana est quand même sérieusement allumée.

PS 2 : Je ne l'ai pas dit, mais à choisir je préférai tout de même l'album précédant...

In Brevard County, we have what has been rated as one of the best transportation systems in the nation.  Space Coast Area Transportation (SCAT) has won national awards for service, their employees and drivers.  Their drivers have been finalist in the state and national bus rodeos for many years.

Within the mentally challenged community, riding the bus or a van route is a daily adventure or a total pain.  Most of the Special Gathering members enjoy riding to their day programs or to their job in the community.  I've been doing van routes for more than 19 years.  Special Gathering is a ministry within the developmentally disabled community.  We do classic ministry, discipleship and evangelism.  However, our members don't drive. Van and bus routes are a necessary part of what we must do to have successful programs.

In my years behind the steering wheel of a bus or van, I've learned that for our members, it is a time to spend with their peers.  It's more than a journey from one spot to another.  It is the only time many people who live within this sub-culture are able to enjoy each other without the pressure of something to do.  There's no pressure of the next bowling frame, no parents, no dance floor, not much supervision.  It's merely a few hours of non-pressured time for fellowship, fun and flirting. 

Many professional and most parents hate the fact that as much as four or five hours of their consumers' or children's day is spent riding the bus.  But within the context of a "normal" day.  It's probably not a bad thing.  I have to spend about three hours traveling each day that I have an appointment or commitment in Indian River County because I live in Brevard.  And that time is spent with myself, in prayer or with the radio.  Riding the bus with a couple of friends looks attractive to me.

As the gas crunch is pushing more and more people to the bus stops, Brevard County residents may learn a few lessons in public transportation that our members learned long ago.  

The first lesson:  Bring a friend or bring a book. 

The second lesson:  Conversation with your riding companion is good--unless they are reading a book. 

The third lesson:  Expect some delays.  It is public transportation.

The fourth lesson:  Be at the bus stop on time--even if you have to wait.  The bus can't wait on you or anyone else.

The fifth lesson:  Make friends with the bus driver.  They are great people and they can really be good friends.  Going the extra mile for their passengers is what they enjoy, even more than making their stops on time.

The sixth lesson:  You can bring your bike.  You will need to attach the bike on the bus yourself; but having your own wheels, will give you transportation to your final destination.

The seventh lesson:  Sharing your faith becomes a natural outgrowth of a bus friendship.  One of our most faithful members and a deacon in our Melbourne program came to The Special Gathering because Ted, his friend and bus companion, invited him.

What are some lessons you've learned about using public transportation from your members?  I think much of their great patience has been learned from their time riding the bus.  What do you think?

Cuenta también la relación que han mantenido el mundo de la literatura y el jazz, conexiones y asociaciones, destacando en este aspecto la obra de Cortazar, en concreto obras como "El perseguidor", "Rayuela", "Ultimo round" y "62/Modelo para armar". El siguiente extracto pertenece a dicha conferencia a la que he añadido unos videos que ilustran lo que José María Guelbenzu está relatando.

(...) en un reciente artículo sobre Julio Cortazar, Manuel Vicent, habla del jazz y de París y dice que, cito: amar a Cortazar fue el oficio obligado de toda una generación. En él se reconoció una tribu que a mitad de los años 60 había descubierto con sorpresa que en castellano también se podía escribir con la misma libertad con que suena el jazz, rompiendo el principio de causalidad o de la manera con que Duchamp cambiaba de sitio los objetos personales y los colocaba en un lugar imprevisto para que una mirada nueva los convirtiera en arte.

(...) En la estructura de la obra de buena parte de Cortazar está presente el jazz. En su lenguaje está solamente como emblema de libertad creadora. No se puede ir más allá. Ella Fitzgerald o Louis Armstrong fueron dos campeones del canto en scat.

These are some of the things I learned from the Brevard County workers that were new to me:

1)  You must register each year for Special Needs Shelter placement. 

2)  To obtain a registration form, you can go to this link, or call Lacie Davis at (321) 637-6670.  

3)  You must register each year for Special Needs Transportation to a General Shelter or a Special Needs Shelter. 

4)  The Special Needs Transportation request is on the Special Needs Shelter request.  Again, here is the link. 

5)  You can get Special Needs Transportation FROM the shelter, ONLY if you had Special Needs Transportation TO the shelter.  Therefore, if your independent living coach or your parent or agency person takes you to the shelter, they must bring you home from the shelter. 

6)  NOTE to supported living coaches:  If you take a person to shelter, they cannot get home on the SCAT bus or with other public transportation.  You must provide them with transportation home from the shelter.

7)  Special Needs Shelters are for medically fragile people.  You will not be accepted into a Special Needs Shelter, unless you are medically fragile.

8)  Cots are not provided in general public shelters.  Bring your own bedding (including a cot, if you need it.) 

9)  It is still an APD requirement that an independent living person be accompanied to any shelter with a companion.  The person who will accompany your consumer should be part of their Emergency Preparation Plan.  Supported-living coaches or support coordinators should insure that this companion cost is included in the Support Plan.

7) If you have any questions regarding this, call 211.  This is an excellent resource hotline.  These volunteers are knowledgeable and they can get you in contact with the person to whom you need to talk.
