Despite some minor ambiguities, I have determined that the song Shake It by Metro Station is referring to playing a game of chess. The three protagonists of this narrative are a boy, a girl, and a friend of the boy. Here's the interpretation:

(Let's Drop!)

This is referring to setting up the board and game pieces.

(Yeah)

(Come On)

(Shake, shake)

These are just various cheers of excitement for the game to commence.

I'll take you home if you don't leave me at the front door (leave me at the front door)

The boy is offering to take the girl home if in turn she will play a game of chess with him at her house.

Your body's cold, but girl we're getting so warm

The girl is cold, but she's getting warmed up for the game.

And I was thinking of ways that I could get inside (get inside)

The boy's considering various tactical moves.

Tonight you're falling in love (let me go now)

Normally, the girl doesn't enjoy chess, but the boy is hoping that she will become a more regular player.

This feeling's stirring me up (here we go now)

He's referring to the anticipation of the game.

Now if she does it like this, will you do it like that

Now if she touches like this, will you touch her right back

Now if she moves like this, will you move it like that (come on)

At this point, the picture becomes blurry and we see a flashback. In anticipation of this game, the boy's friend is coaching him on which moves to use to counter the girl's moves.

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

If achieving victory becomes impossible, the friend advises the boy the to shake the board as a very last resort.

Your lips tremble but your eyes are in a straight stare (eyes are in a straight stare)

Now the girl exhibits nervousness, but is able to maintain focus.

You're on the bed but your clothes are laying right there

Apparently, they upped the stakes and are playing strip chess, with the girl losing. Likewise, it appears that they were able to move the board onto the bed, presumably to be more comfortable.

And I was thinking of places that I could hide (I could hide)

Basically, the boy is referring to covering his king, castling perhaps.

Tonight you're falling in love (let me go now)

Again, the boy asserts his opinion that the girl will become obsessed with chess after this game.

This feeling's stirring me (here we go now)

The thought of creating a new chess player is an emotional experience for the boy.

Well I saw you dancing and I couldn't get you off my mind

From the context, it seems the girl was taking a long time to maker her move, so the boy imagined her dancing.

(I could tell that you could tell that I was taking my time)

It seems the boy was stalling his move or considering it carefully, and the girl noticed this.

I was thinking of ways that you would stay and be mine

Now the boy is having grandiose thoughts of making the girl his disciple.

(Your body's shaking, turn me on, so I can turn off the lights)

At this point, the game is nearly over. The girl distraught because she is on the verge of losing. It seems that this is causing her a long time to make a move, so the boy uses a poetic construction to requests that she wake him up when the game is over so that he can go home and go to sleep.

August 7th, 2008

Ok, returning to something I haven't done since I was a teenager (tee hee!) I am going to blast another shitty piece of music. Tonight's line of attack is directed towards Metro Station and the song "Shake It." And away we go!

I'll take you home if you don't leave me at the front door
Your body's cold, but girl we're getting so warm
And I was thinking of ways that I could get inside

So, we begin with a "hey, I pretty much want to gashmoigen (pronounced: Ga-Shmoy-gun) your gaflavin." Classy stuff right there... And a two year old could figure out that "get inside" does not mean into your house, but into your pants. We're not dumb Metro Station!

Now if she does it like this will you do it like that
Now if she touches like this, will you touch her right back
Now if she moves like this, will you move it like that

Using the word "this," implies that we know what you're talking about. But, dumbasses, on a CD we can't friggin' see what you're up to! We don't know how she "does it," nor how she is touching or moving. Nor will we use our imagination. Now, the sad thing about all of this so far, is this isn't the worst part of the whole song. No, friends, we get to a chorus that has absolutely nothing to do with ANYTHING!

Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it
Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it
Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it
Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it
Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, uh shake it

Ok, buddy? Are you singing a song or making Shake 'n Bake (TM)? Because from my perspective, you're just saying an irrelevant phrase twelve thousand times and calling it music. Go back to the drawing board.

That's all for now!

Theses are some of my favourite songs:

1. Hundred-The Fray

This song is amazing. I really want to learn to play it on the piano. Its from the album How to Save a life.

2. Shake It- Metro Station

Really good song. The only problem with it is that Miley Cyrus' brother sings it. But the good thing is hes her step-brother. It is form the album Metro Station.

3. Crazy in Love-Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z

I love this song. Its so catchy and it reminds me of the part from White Chicks. Its from the album Dangerously In Love.

4. Disturbia-Rihanna

Catchy song. Plus Rihanna is extreamly hot. It's from her album Good Girl Gone Bad.

Mr. Brightside-The Killers

I know this song is old but it's still good. It's probobly one of my favorite songs by them. It's from their album Hot Fuss.

Ok, I just had a major shocker. XD

So you know that song 'Shake It' by Metro Station that's been playing on the radios in the West Coast non-stop? Well it eventually got so catchy that I had to download it and listen to it non-stop.

Apparently the singer/guitarist Trace Cyrus, the one with the emo hair - wait, they all have emo hair - the vest, black skinny jeans and two lip piercings a.k.a. the one that sings the first line "I'll take you home if you don't leave me at the front door" is... *drumroll* Miley Cyrus a.k.a. Hannah Montana's half brother! They share the same mother and he's adopted by their dad or something. I'm not gonna look into it much.

Anyway, there's my OMGFTW of the day. =D

Australia's release date for the game is, like a lot of Nintendo games now-a-days, a day before the European release date. So, it's released on the 25th September this year.

I hate metro stations.

I mean, the thought of having a fat old guy seated on the same spot as you, just two minutes before you got on the train, farting so loud he got everybody looking, is just disgusting.
Chewing gum everywhere.
Crying babies that normally should make your heart melt, but as they cry so loud, you just want to smack their little faces or throw them trough the air.
Desperate single guys who obviously still live with their parents.
I can go on for hours like that.

If there's a place where I don't belong, it's definitely the subway.
I just couldn't take it; all of it.

Too bad my car broke down this morning so I was obligated to use another way to get to work.
I could've used a cab, but my roommate told me this scary story once about the cousin of the best friend of her sister who got raped and then left behind in the middle of nowhere...
And he was a guy.

Another option would've been to skip work, but then again, I love my job.
I'm a graphic designer for the hottest fashionmagazine in town. I get to decide which colors are going to be used in the next issue and other stuff like that.
Apart from that I'm a freelance columnist and I give a lot of advice to my boss who also happens to be one of my best friends.

Anyway, back to the whole metro station scenario.
People who've never been here before, are lucky to only see them in movies. They don't get to smell all the bad scents in a metro station on their way to work.
I swear, if someone ever comes up with the idea to make a special scent movie, he'd better make sure to only use the good scents!

Hey! Good Morning! I’ve yet to really delve into what would be my other loves in life. I

Hey! Good Morning! I've yet to really delve into what would be my other loves in life. I've discussed what I'm listening too and what books I'm reading, but have yet to touch on what toys I've bought and what comics I'm currently immersed in. This post is gonna focus on the toys end of things. I'll probably want to see Hellboy before we talk about comics.

Now, before I get started I should probably let you know that I am a lot slower and poorer than most of the people on the Internet. So many times I go to websites and I think to myself "how do people have all this money that they can just go out and buy every new comic and toy that comes out?" Generally this sentiment then reminds me of something: "Oh yeah, they have jobs." But I say this only because I could seem a little behind the curve to someone happening across this. It's not the comic folk I worry about, it's the toy nerds who can be jerks. But hey, I live in a city where things don't sell out immediately, a place where I can still go out right now and buy the Kozik Lenin 8" Dunny. Have fun waiting in line for a hunka plastic! Big ups small cities!

Boy, that got a little mean. Whatever, let's talk about toys! I thought you all deserve a break after reading my CCV post.

So, recently I've been trying to bulk up the part of my collection that consists of larger pieces. It's going pretty well so far. Got some big ol' Dunny's, got those Gorillaz figures on the cheap, but I got a coupla other pieces that Ive been quite fond of putting on the mantle. When I was out in Chicago on my most recent visit I had a chance to swing by Rotofugi and kinda lose my mind. It's not necessarily that Rotofugi is amazing, even though it is, it's just that I kinda lose my mind every time I get around that many toys. Either way, let's look at the bigger pieces that I was able to nab. I'm gonna be leaving these pictures kinda big, they're prettier that way. Oh, and none of these pictures are mine. Deal, it's the Internet.

I think that pretty much speaks for itself, right there. This fine young fellow is an 8" member of the Dr. Bomb series, REDRUM they call him. This was one of those pieces that had so much going on in it that I liked, that it was next to impossible to not buy it. Between the smoking elephant, smoking bomb and the blood coveredness I pretty much decided on spot that this was coming home with me. He now resides atop my record shelves. That's right IKEA record grid shelves, you know you all have them.

Reenactment of me finding these in Rotofugi: "Hey look it's the Deko-Boko boys! Neat, artist Furi Furi made them into awesome orange skeletons! Holy crap, I get both of them? I don't even have to choose which one I like more?!!?!? Crap...I'm spending a lot of money today...oh well, I'm on vacation. Right? Please somebody agree with me so I can just buy these and we can all get on with life."

There's one element of vinyl toy collecting that comes closer to addiction than any other collection-based hobby I have. This is the blind box toys. For those who don't quite know what this means, I will briefly explain. Many times when companies put out a series of 3" figures they but them in boxes so you can't necessarily see which one you're going to get. This is both frustrating and fun. On the one hand it lend the thrill-of-the-hunt aspect to it all. When you finally get the one you've been waiting for it is a pretty great feeling. At the other end of the spectrum, you can also keep buying from a series and continually get the same one over and over. Each figure is produced in differing ratios, making some more common to find than others. Now, for some, this could give them leverage at toy trades. I don't really take part in those, so they just tend to be flat out annoying to me. For someone who has a relatively small collection they just tend to take up space.

Sometimes you have days where you totally luck out at your toy store and those are good days. As is probably pretty obvious to a reader, I had one of those days recently. I had been getting frustrated buying the series 4 Dunnys just because I kept getting doubles and ones I didn't want. Well, no more, I took a chance again and nabbed the Kozik "Clockwork Orange" style 3". Yes! I also managed to grab the one figure out of the "Life inVentsville" figure I'd been eyeing for a while. When i started picking up boxes it was pretty clear which one Grilly Bear was, it was about three times heavier than the others. Triumphant pictures!!!

Alright! That should do it for now! Hope everyone' day is swimming along well.

For anyone interested, some buying info:

Rotofugi and Kidrobot for your on-line buyings.

They've got a pretty fantastic selection for a store that doesn't explicitly specialize in toys. Plus buying toys over the Internet is never as fun.

Artist Name: Metro Station

Album Name: Metro Station

Genre: Alternative Pop

Our Favorite Song: Control

Consensus Favorite Song: Shake It

Album Review: Metro Station is basically a Fall Out Boy wannabe band. But they should know that they can not achieve that status if their music is designed with 8 year olds in mind. You can see that in songs like Shake It. Shake It has a great beat and good tune to boot but there is nothing about them that makes them any different then other bands out there. The only song where I think people have a right to say is different in some way is Control and that is why it is my favorite song on the album. Metro Station starts out with Seventeen Forever which is a perfect song for little girls to make them feel grown up. By the way that is not a compliment. It could be put in a musical and it has one of the most childish tunes I have ever heard. Even the name of the song is enough to turn me off. It is followed by Control which is one of the only two decent songs on the album. Kelsey is an overrated somewhat annoying song that I think should have never been made a single. Shake It is good and is a hit. It has a great beat and some decent guitar in it. I like that song more than some of the others. Wish We Were Older is funny simply because of the fact that it basically represents their music completely with the name. Bad song too. Now That We're Done is one of the worst songs of this year. I hate it with every fiber of my being! California is not great but is one of the brighter spots on this album. All in all I felt that this album was childish, stupid, and annoying. Though it does have some bright spots that I can listen to without my ears bleeding.

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension's Japanese microsite has putup some nice little videos of the game. These videos include an introduction to the game presented in cartoony glory. And the other video is a gameplay trailer for the game, showing off its 2D graphics. For a 2D game, the graphics are pretty nice to look at, although it seems a bit odd that in the era of 3D gaming and realistic graphics, Nintendo would go and make their first fully 2D game on a home console in years. But, gameplay is more important than graphics afterall!

Here is a link to the Wario Land microsite. There are some transparent circles on the site, whcih probably means it will be updated in the coming days before its Japanese release date, meaning I'll let you know about any updates!

For those of you looking for my Super Smash Bros Brawl review, I'm writing it at the moment, but it's a huge game, so I have a few things to cover before I post it.

I was wary of this song at first, but it's really good. It kinda gives you a disco tech feel at the beginning, but that works for this band and this song. It's one of those songs that you can't help but get up and dance to! I highlt suggest this one for parties (I speak from experience). Even if you're not exactly a discofever eccentric (which I'm not, for the record). There's also kind of a ...rock tone in it? I'm not sure how to exactly describe it, but it's a sure hit among fans of different genres of music. I finally got the video up for it, too. It took me a while to find it, I'm not sure why. Oh well! The video is really fun; it basically revolves around a dance-off that takes place in what looks like an abandoned theater, with Metro Station playing right in the middle of it, of course. And it all ends with them all being chased out by the police. Ah, that's a hit video, right there. Enjoy!

Love and Peace,

I’m in the subway s

I'm looking at a girl who looks like female version of Alan Rickman.

I'm in the subway station at the 2nd Ave stop, Lower East side New York. I've been traipsing around these points every other day for the last three weeks i've been here, and the stories are numerous. But i'm not feeling happy. Something is grinding at my insides--the little voids in this social vacuum we call our daily existence. For all intents and purposes I should feel good. But I'm not 100%.

This makes sense in an odd kind of way.

I got the emotional wind kicked out of me recently, and certain aspects of it re-entered my consciousness, just at the point when I didn't need it. I was on the phone with my sister last night trying to work out the meaning of pointless communication.

"What's the point of keeping in touch with people who aren't interested in seeing you?" I said.

"Well, " she responded. "I don't know how to answer that.

"And why is it that when i'm far away from certain people they become so interested in what i'm up to... but if i'm in the area they are like ghosts in my life?"

"Well," she said." I don't know how to answer that one either."

I can't answer it myself. Its become a tired routine, between myself and my significant others. I can be in their periphery, a stone's throw away and I don't hear anything. My cell phone becomes dead weight, and i wake up early on Saturday mornings feeling like a horny Grizzly bear in a land filled with male Shrews.

I can't bother to try and rationalize the circumstances, the events, the back story or the whatevers. I've come to realize like most people, that most things don't matter. What matters is what you want with your life, what you choose to take from it, and everything else is just... scenery.

Scenery like a long car ride from state to state. You look at it, occasionally something grabs your eye, sometimes you might stop for a while and get engaged with something, or you might stop for a long time before you get to your final stop. But its all fluff. Its all jibber jabber.

What matters is the end result. Sort of.

I haven't felt like writing humorous anecdotes about the girls i've met in New York, and now there are too many to write about properly. This city is pretty fun--I've partied on a Monday--but at the same time it has the "vacuum" that all major cities have. That quiet divide in between what you have to do, and what you want to do. Everyone is busy, everyone is working, but sometimes in between the work and the train rides, the little conversations with the person standing in line to grab a Subway sandwidch, or helping the man across the street, everything stops. Then you remember you are painfully alone.

You can disguise this sensation in some ways. You can play loud music, read books, go running. Fool yourself into feeling a sense of company by sitting in the presence of others in Parks, or going to the movies.. but there are those days when you can't fool yourself. This sadly, has been happening more often over the last several months than I like.

Its not a depressing feeling, because its a reality. If a guy doesn't have a girl friend and maybe two people he speaks to every now and then its a little social conundrum. Especially for a guy who has no trouble meeting and interacting with people. Its like life's antithesis to the "cool guy".

But I'm rambling. ( I will never... EVER say "I digress". I hate those two words. *brrrr*)

Do I want the flashing lights? Do I want the smiles of recognition from the masses? Do I want to be known?

I dunno. I'm a simple guy. Sometimes I just want to know that certain people close to me have a vested interested in me. That's a start.

I'm afraid of become one of those super jaded people who roam through life always thinking a little devil is following them around and watching all their positive circumstances then they poke a broom in your back and shout out "YOU'RE FUCKED LITTLE MAN!"

Alas, I think i'm already there. Feeling jaded isn't feeling depressed. Its reading the news and not feeling anything when people go missing. Not worrying about tomorrow even if people are going to start wailing on you with terrorist fist-jabs, and thinking every woman you meet will eventually screw you. (not in that way pervs!).

I should take notes from good old Shakes:

"... take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them?" Okay this barely relates to what i'm saying, but I love a good Shakes quote.

The only solace I can take from the burgeoning jadedness that is life, is to realize I have ample writing fodder. I don't have to be the only one feeling empty and floating around "this mortal coil", so can my characters! and I can make them screw (not in that way) the chicks too! Sweet eh? The pen can give sweet revenge... but that's a nerdy fantasy that never helps anyone, especially if the chicks that screw you (we've been over this) don't read your books. Lost cause dudes and babes. Lost cause.

But i'll figure it out. I'll reteach myself to twiddle my thumbs with glee if it means buying a huge f-ing box of chocolate and a teddy bear the size of my ex-girlfriend and loads of anime to take me back to my innocent teen years.

Till then, the humorous anecdotes will continue I guess... with a morose undertone.

Cheers to unexpected e-mails.

Me: Shake song? Like "Shakin" by Rooney
Arun: No, the new one. It has Miley Cyrus' brother.
Me: She has a brother?
Arun: Well a half brother. He has a band.
Me: So he's in a band. I guess it runs in the family.

Random Fact: Cyrus' brother met the brother of another actor on the set of Hannah Montana and they formed this band together.

Arun plays me this song by "Metro Station" and honestly it's not that bad. Maybe the summer boredom is starting to get to my brain, but I expected much worse from the spawn of Mr. Achy Breaky Heart. Sure Metro Station probably only gets airplay because of his much more famous sister, but
I'm linking you to the MP3 anyway. I'm also recommending the Steve Aoki remix of their song "Control". The remix has much more of the indietronic field that I'm fond of. Oh and "Shake it"? You can keep it as that guilty pleasure song for your aerobics mix.

"Shake It"!! This is a sexy lil, all prim, design that includes top, bottoms, upper arm bands (one with a dagger and the other with a pouch), thigh band, hand wraps, and boots. I really liked how the bottoms turned out, with the strips of torn pieces that drape over one hip. It's sure to be an eye catcher!! If your curious to how this outfit or any others look on an actual avitar, stop by the main store and check out our CC Models. As always, if you have any questions or need any help at all, please don't hesitate to send me (Diamond Hope) a notecard in world, detailing what you need... I'm more then happy to help out!! ENJOY!

The painting is appraised at close to $12 million dollars according to a spokesman at Sotheby’s. Throck wrote a check on the spot to the renowned artist John Stafira for the full amount. “I kind of had to buy it. I didn’t want the French thinking all our paintings smelled like booze. This is a big art piece for me. I’m not big into art. My last painting was a $9 oil painting of two squirrels sword fighting…it looks good in my office though. I only came to this function because Carrie Underwood said her hot belly dancer friend was going to be there…and the dancer didn’t even show!” Throck Morton’s new 200 story office building in Dubai unveils next week.
