SSC Ultimate Aero TT super sports car, with a turbo V8 enigine outputting 1183 HP and 1094 lbs. of torque. The fastest production car in the world reached the crown speed of 411.76 km/h on a momentarily-closed 2 lane public highway in Washington State last September 13, 2007. It beats the previous record-holders Bugatti Veyron and Koenigsegg.

This is Maja, she lives with Shelby, and she's really big now!! This was taken in February when she was still a young puppy.

My bestest friend Shelby... and of course she didn't eat it, it's chocolate... it was her daddy who ate it all!

And how's this for a really tasty looking flower... it's one of mummy's favourites... kind of looks like its floating in mid-air, but it's not... it's just on a long stalk so I haven't managed to eat it yet!

And of course I can't leave you without some cute pics... so here are two of me... one taken on the 12th June and one taken yesterday. Mummy should have put them side by side but she hasn't figured out how to do that yet.

I'm still pretty cute aren't I? I'm going to have to get mummy to get me a bigger cosy bed... this one's too small now but I still like it and it's okay if I sleep all curled up in a ball but it could do with being a bit more roomy so I can fit one of my cuddly toys in with me. I've got so many teddies and chewy toys that I'm going to have to have my own toybox to put them all in.

Oh well, must get my beauty sleep as it's puppy class tomorrow night... I bet we've all grown a lot in the last week and I can't wait to hear what they've all been up to!

Yesterday was Mikayla's last day with us for her visit and we wanted it to be really fun. We got together with our good friends Shelby and her husband Mike and their two children for a summer barbeque. We grilled up burgers, corn on the cob, potatoes and watermelon and we topped it off with smores roasted over a fire for dessert (we even had dye free marshmallows that we ordered from HERE). I had a tough time trying to figure out what settings to use with my camera in the twilight so some of the pictures turned out a little funky but we had tons of fun. We didn't get the girls home and in bed until midnight!

Mikayla will be back to spend another two weeks with us next month right around when the baby is due and we are excited that she'll most likely be here to witness the birth of our new little one.

Shelby SuperCars burst into automotive history with their record setting Ultimate Aero.  Validated by Guinness World Records as the fastest production car, the ultimate Aero beat out Bugatti and Koenigsegg to grab the record as fastest supercar with a top speed of 256 MPH.  That’s got to be bad for the gas mileage.

Now SSC plans to release the Ultimate Aero EV (electric vehicle); to crush the record as fastest electric car!  The car is rumored to make 500 pollution-free horsepower.  The question is how can SSC fit a 500 hp electric engine and battery pack in such a small car?  I say good luck and Godspeed!

 O nome Ford Mustang já  impõe respeito. Combine-o com o lendário designer de carros Carroll Shelby e teremos o grande sonho do carro americano. O  Shelby Mustang GT500 não é qualquer um Mustang turbinado: ele é o mais poderoso Mustang que já foi fabricado em linha de produção.

Já pelas suas características de Muscle Car (ou carro-musculoso) suas características são nitidamente voltadas ao desempenho:  O GT 500 possui potência de 500 HP.

Com seu motor V8 de 5,4 litros, a transimssão manual de 6 marchas lida tranqüilamente com a potência de um V8: as marchas são espaçadas de modo uniforme, de forma a permitir que o motor use todo seu torque para acionar as rodas traseiras.

Para conseguir filmar toda a seqüência da perseguição final, foram usadas 12 réplicas da verdadeira Eleanor. Dessas, 5 foram totalmente destruídas durante as filmagens. Cada uma Das cópias tinha uma função específica nas filmagens. As que tinham motor mais potente participavam de cenas de perseguição, enquanto outras foram projetadas para derrapar em curvas, e havia também aquelas equipadas com suspensão mais resistente para suportar as cenas de saltos.

Enfim, o resultado acabou sendo o melhor esperado: um carro voando baixo, e ‘’só alguns arranhões’’...

Não é sempre que vemos um carro ser igual (ou metade igual, neste caso), como este pequeno Shelby. Um modelo Smart foi totalmente adaptado para se parecer com o carro chefe do filme 60 segundos (muito difundido aqui pelo [[[Francisco]]]. O carro original é apelidada de Eleanor, um shelby GT 500 de 1967, onde é o último carro a ser roubado e, é claro o clímax do filme inteiro.

O caso foi que a Thalon Design decidiu fazer uma miniatura real deste carro, baseado em uma plataforma totalmente diferente, um Smart, que é feito praticamente para a cidade, sendo um dos menores carros do mundo. Seu motor é um 0,7L de três cilindros (o suficiente para levar 805kg), produzindo 75 cavalos de potência.

É claro que não é nada comparado a verdadeira Eleanor, mas essas diferenças são sutis perto da riqueza de detalhes parecidos com o modelo original, porém em tamanho menor. Usa-se a mesma pintura, e detalhes como saídas de ar, faróis e lanternas são todas (quase) idênticas ao Eleanor. 

Realmente prova-se que se pode fazer quase tudo quando se quer realmente. Está certo que corresponde a 50% do modelo real, mas nessa imitação ganhou 100% de criatividade.

Anyway, we went to see the nice vet Duncan again and he said my glands aren't swollen any more and my temperature has gone down to 103, which is only 1 degree above what they call normal, so I'm much better than I was. But the lump on my neck has grown a lot and he thinks its going to get bigger before it goes away. Hopefully it'll go away on its own, otherwise I heard him talking to mummy about an anaesthetic and draining it, which doesn't sound very nice for such a little pup like me.

Mummy is keeping an eye on it and I'm just taking it easy and resting a lot. I do have the odd 'Shelby bonkers moment' though, like when we got home from the vets yesterday and mummy was watering the plants in the conservatory with a water bottle. She put it down and I grabbed it and ran away...

Shelby has lots of bonkers moments and I can't wait 'til we can go bonkers together! I'm supposed to be having my second vaccination on Monday, I hope this horrid lump doesn't stop me having it as I've got lots of things planned for 2 weeks after when I can go out and meet other dogs and walk in the fields... I saw a big dog yesterday at the vets and wagged my tail a lot but I was in that darned cat carrier so couldn't get out to say hello to him. He looked ever so big but was very friendly!

As many of my Shelby friends know, last year I started creating a spreadsheet listing many of my friend's (on the forums) Shelby GT's to help me keep track of who had which Ford options and who was getting which Shelby modification.  I found it increasingly difficult to remember who had what and I couldn't keep up with which modification were done to each car.  Today, I have even worse trouble with so many out there - both Shelby GT's and GT500's.

Meanwhile, as people have post-delivery modifications done to their Shelby's - either by installing the mods themselves or by some local shop (other non-Shelby-authorized facility) - my buddy Roger and I thought it was a good idea for someone to capture a list for future reference.  As I've mentioned before, someday many of us will be the concourse judges so we need to keep track of what is going on out there with the cars.

More recently, I came up with an idea of making some Shelby Trading Cards for the new 2006+ Shelby's.  So I thought this would also be a good way to capture some information about the cars.  If an owner wanted to have a Trading Card made of their car, this would help facilitate that.

So for those interested in submitting post-delivery modification information about your car, please fill out the form below.  At a minimum, I am asking for your VIN, CSM and a list of post-delivery mods you have done or are doing to your Shelby.  For those of you interested in providing more information for the Trading Cards, then please feel free to enter more information. 

For those interested in entering all your information, that will be appreciated and helpful (but not required) for creating a list for all future concourse judges.  My intent is not to create my own Shelby Registry; that's up to other more powerful forces in the universe then me and I'm keeping away from that topic.
