It there's one thing I hate more than general stupidity/lack of observation, its redundancy. To repeat something even though it has been acknowledged or deemed unneccessary is a sure way to a slow, painful death at the hands of Mich, god of retribution for all things unintelligent. This is why I hate repeating myself, or when people repeat themselves when they talk. Don't worry though, I'm not hating the player; I'm hating the game (and holy crap, to think I'd use THAT idiom... I must be totally wasted).

---

On a seperate note, after the first session of writing this entry and before the 2nd, I went to the Toronto Night Market. A swell, crowded mess that was. Thoroughly enjoyable, but man was it crowded. I remember trying to get from one booth to another while there were enough people to fill the damn Skydome cramped into a single parking lot (Skydome, y'hear? Sky-frucking-dome). Like, seriously, it felt more crowded than when I was shopping in Mongkok. Plus, there was this really smoky haze drifting about the whole area as a result of all the grilling and cooking going on in the tents; it was the stench of smelly tofu, korean spices, smelly tofu, marinated sausages, smelly tofu, tobacco, and smelly-frucking-tofu. The smell just so happened to always coincide with the passing of a cloud of smoke (which was released every few seconds from god knows where)

Of course, then there was the matter of the food. Had some interesting delicacies... like... taiyaki uguu~!

[caption id="attachment_24" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Taiyaki uguu~"][/caption]

For these two little things, I waited a good 50 minutes in line. Amazing, eh?

While on the topic of food, let me talk about some more "food". There was this man who was holding up a sign reading "free facials" in English and Chinese. I told friend #1 and he laughed. Then friend #2 starts laughing even more and saying there's a double meaning. I feint ignorance and act confused, 'cause I don't want to acknowledge what he just said; the same occurs with friend #1. We start asking what he means, hoping it isn't what we think it is. Lo and behold, when friend #1 stiffles a laugh and asks if "its something about bukkake or something", friend #2 says "yeah, haha". We proceed to stare him down and facepalm. [Oh crap, foot cramp ;_;]

Yeah yeah, fried ice cream. Should've tried it. Should've.

---

Now, it's been a good 9 hours since my day started, and I've managed to ignore my ISU for every passing second of those 9 hours. I think it's about time to start. Just maybe. I should probably go decide upon a build for my DC/OC/vend slave, or level my sage/sader/sinx/slinger...

---

You know, a great idea for me would be to get my lazy ass off my computer and venture into the vast smorgasbord of the city. However, I need motivation. The fact that I've work that's waiting for me isn't help at all, not to mention the waves of anxiety that hit me when I have been away from RO for too long (ROWS- RO withdrawal syndrome?). Damn.

---

Enough. I'll save anything else for my next post, damnit. I need to actually write on something serious for a change; I think I've been saying "I" too much, lowering the formality of my writing. Meh, oh wellz0rs.

ViVi May 2008

Sailor Moon Manga Band 5

Beides sehr kawaii und Made in Japan XD

Was sehr lecker war:

Dango artige teile XD

Megami Vol.58 vom Jahre 2005 lol

AIR 4 ever \^.^/

I know, I know..
I haven't posted for a long time!

Sorry, but I was really busy!

-> Stupid School T.T

Anyways, I'm happy to post again. :)

As you can see from the title, I'm going write a post about Mochi and Wagashi.
Probably, like the first time I saw those two strange words I was thinking..

Whats That? xD

Wagashi and Mochi.. Sounds weird, huh? :D

To me, it sounds like some pet dogs, :p.

Well, just so you know, Its not!

:D

Here is a delicious sample :)

- Actually a Dango made from Moch :p

Looks great, doesn't it? :D

I want to eat it ! >.<

Waah.. I wonder when they'll finally find out a machine that is able to teleport me to Japan or a shop that sells stuff like this !

- I bet nobody in Belgium sells this T.T

Anyways, I should probably get to the point instead of brabbling about random things :)

Mochi is, as Wikipedia says a Japanese Rice cake made of glutinous rice, pounded into paste and molded into shape.

It's traditionally eaten at Japanese New Year.

(I'm going to write an article about it soon)

Mochi is similar to the Chinese Nian Gao, scrumptious goo,xD

Nian Gao and Mochi are both very sticky and hard to eat.

Though, once you get the hang of it, you'll never want to stop. :)

Mochi is the base for something even better,

Wagashi !

Japanese Confectionary served with thee.

Some types of Wagashi are also made of azuki bean past and fruits.

Usually it's made of natural, mainly plant ingrediënts.

There are many types of confectionary based on Wagashi,

Type 1. Rakugan.
A Rakugan is a small, very solid sweet cake which is made of rice flour and Mizuame.

(-Mizuame is a sweetener that is literally translated as Water Candy)

Type 2. Taiyaki!

Beautiful, yummy fish-like mochi !:D

Its actually a fish shaped waffle buut.. :p

Mostly filled with red bean paste or sometimes even with chocolate, cheese or another sauce.

Depends on what you like , of course. :D

Type 3. Anmitsu!

Is made of small cubes translucent jelly made from seaweed, served in a bowl with sweet

bean paste, boiled peas and a variety of fruits such as peach slices, pieces of pineapples, and cherries.

Weell, of course, that aren't all the types of mochi and wagashi but I got to go now!

Brother is wining again,xD .

Of course , I won't let you drooling over these delicious pictures without anything to do.

Here is a recipe from WikiHow! :D

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Mochi

Link to WikiHow, how to make Mochi !

Hi there, everyone ! It's already my 7th year here in Japan and ever since I've started my blog since 2004, I believe I haven't been introducing the culture of Japan much and I thought it should be high time I do something about it. Today, I am introducing you, for those who are not familiar with Japanese food, to what we call as "taiyaki" and "nattō". Well, the detailed descriptions are as stated above. About "taiyaki", if you know Doraemon well enough, it is something like "dorayaki", one of Doraemon's favorite confectionery. I bought the ones above from a shop nearby my apartment and it is about 80 yen for one. About "nattō", many foreigners and many Japanese themselves cannot stand the taste and smell. I, myself, could not take it too in the beginning but after going to Kyushu, I began to learn to enjoy it and now, it is one of my favorite Japanese food. It is good for your health and it is publicly known here in Japan to have a good effect in making your blood flow well. Alright, that's it for today. I'll introduce more in the near future. Peace.

Mini Taiyaki! Love these to bits, a mouthful of bliss per fish. A pity they bring in these adorable japanese pastry only once every 6 months at Isetan. I've been walking down to Shaw Centre everyday just to get these. =) Grab them while you can! At $6 for 15, happiness comes rather cheap. The custard and caramel ones are delish! I prefer to chill the custard ones, but they're good warm as well, abit like condensed milk. Mmmm...

Okay talk about neglecting the food blog. It's not like I didn't eat anything at all. Don't worry - I've been eating alright. I just haven't been updating you guys. So I spent the first 4 days of summer at Genki Living. Mind you, the place is pretty good. It gets old really quick.

Taiyaki - It's like a cake - but inside there's different filling. There's red bean, custard, chocolate, taro, etc. I don't remember them all. I'm not in love with this. Maybe because it only takes them 45 mintues just to cook 3 of time. I get really impatinet.

A yummy crepe. Ingore the Mango slush. Mind you, that sush was good. I don't know. I hate how I can only get good crepes at Genki. But worth it? No.

Takoyaki. Okay this is good stuff. It's basically octopus balls. I know it sounds sick. But trust me - it's good...and sizzling hot.

7 out of 10. Sadly, I will come back. The only reason is this is the only place I know of that sells this kind of food. Oh curses.
