Mellow Man Ace es un rapero Afro-Cubano. Nace el 12 de Abril de 1967, en Pinar del Río, Cuba bajo el nombre de Sergio Ulpiano Reyes -EL PADRINO DEL HIPHOP LATINO

Biografía

Su familia salió de Cuba cuando tenía cuatro años de edad. Afincados ya en EE. UU. La familia se trasladó de Miami a Nueva Jersey para luego quedarse en California, exactamente en South Gate.

1983, inspirado en el grupo Treacherous decide formar su primer grupo llamado Rapmusik. Después formó un grupo con su hermano y 2 amigos mas llamado DVX (Vocal devastadores Xcellence), pero decidió continuar su carera en solitario. Tras la salida de Mellow Man el grupo DVX cambió su nombre a Cypress Hill.

En 1987 lanza el tema Mas Pingón, donde a diferencia de su antiguo grupo, rapeaba completamente en castellano. En 1990 su tema Mentirosa se convirtió en el primer sigle de oro de un rapero latino en los EEUU , y su album Scape from Havana figuraba en el puesto 14 del Hot 100-Popcharts.

Junto con su hermano Sen Dog, Mellow Man funda el sello discográfico Latin Thug Records y graban bajo el nombre de The Reyes Brothers

Si quiere usted innovar en la salsa de tomates que prepara cada vez que quiere acompañar los tallarines, le paso el dato de este video, que incluye (aparte de toda su maravillosidá audiovisual) una receta para hacer salsa de tomates que debe ser la estandard gringa, para no dejar descontento a nadie. Yo sé que usted sabe preparar la suya con mucho mas que esas correctas especias. Debo reconocer que este video lo tengo guardado en la biblioteca de recetas culinarias que tengo adentro de mi cerebro. Nunca me ha tocado, pero sé que en cualquier caso de emergencia, en cualquier camping con un youtube cerca, puedo salvar cocinando algo que puedo decir que aprendí, no que inventé.

Lo curioso del video, es que está pensado para la canción, y no viceversa. Con esto me refiero a que todos los sonidos de sirenas y pacos, fueron creados para el LP homework (1997) antes de que la canción se convirtiera en video, luego en single, luego en éxito, lo que hace de esta obra particularmente particular. Uno se imagina que el creador de la canción se imaginó el video antes de realizarlo. Es como imaginarse algo que alguien imaginó, antes de que se diera el tiempo de imaginar cómo se vería. Siendo que imaginar es ver. Es escuchar la banda sonora de una imaginería audia y visual. Es el resultado de todo eso.
